Stylecraft Special DK - Sage (1725)

Super, colourful yarn. I have been making crochet blankets and this aran yarn has been ideal for the multicoloured granny squares. Would recommend. I have also used the sage colour for a jumper which looks great.

Lovely yarn to knit or crochet with. Comes in wide variety of colours. Washes well (always follow the washing instructions). Have knitted with this yarn many times over the years and never been disappointed with it. Would recommend to others who want a nice yarn that doesnt cost too much. Thank you.

Lovely soft wool, very easy

Lovely soft wool, very easy to work with. I'm crocheting a throw and was able to get all of the colours I needed to match a rug in the room. The colours and textures are just what I wanted. My throw will be a bit of a project, and it won't be finished for a long time but it keeps me occupied and I'm enjoying working it!

Ah Stylecraft Special DK - I always spend a long time looking for good quality affordable yarn. So many choices. And if I look for a particular colour in greater quantity I always end up with Stylecraft Special. Good quality acrylic, nicely soft, even for baby projects, with great stitch definition. And the colour choice! To be honest I usually ask my husband to choose for me, because I can't make any reasonable decision with so many gorgeous, saturated colours. I usually go for strong juicy shades, but this time I'm working with brownish Walnut and it's simply stunning. It's going to be a very sophisticated vintage looking sweater.

Review of Stylecraft Special Aran

I have used this yarn previously to make a blanket measuring 40" x 55" in varying stripes of white/grey and varying shades of green, that worked out well but I didn't have a pattern for that. More recently I downloaded a pattern "Friends Forever Bunny Blanket" and I am using Stylecraft Special Aran, there are written instructions and a graph (because there are two Bunnies sitting in the middle of the blanket in 2 different colors) I started off with the written inst. but the print is very small and the lines are very close together and I was getting serious eye strain, so I have had to combine the instructions with the graph as best I could. I have just got to do the border now and I don't need a pattern for that so that's good, but the yarn itself has been very good.

I was searching for some yarn for a baby blanket, but could not find the colors in the brand I would normally have used. So I looked at LoveCrafts, and they had the yarn used in the pattern. When I pulled up that yarn on this site...boom! So many wonderful colors! I actually purchased the wrong green, but went back and purchased a new shade of green that turned out to be perfect. That wrong green? It's perfect for another project! So easy to order, and so wonderful to see the yarn cared for. Instead of being wrapped in plastic bags, it was in a breathable bag. Those bags are handy for holding completed parts of projects, and to protect the yarn from my crochet hook when in my project bag.
