I’ve used Matrix SoColor in 7N for years to do my gray roots and it always was the best for covering gray. I had tried at least 6 other professional beauty supply-offered brands (major brands) and nothing came close in comparison to Matrix SoColor. It was a deep tone of 7N that lasted well beyond other brands of the same type and color level. NOT anymore! The color is very light comparatively and it has a creamy-yellow tone to it now which I really kinda hate. So disappointed after loving it for so long. Time to start looking again to change brands.

This worked quality love it the results and outcome. Didn’t quite need two containers of 3oz it’s a lot of dye unless hair is really long. I thought I would need more because I have thick hair I was wrong. Matrix developer 20 worked really well with this dye. However I was darkening not lifting.

I am concerned about this product being of a fraudulent nature. While the tubes I ordered from the seller MakeupTrading (based out of California) are unopened and appear legit at first glance, I know that all professional hair care products have serial numbers and/or dye lots and the two tubes I ordered from this sellers have this number blacked out with some sort of marker or paint. Secondly, legit Matrix products always list the ingredients of their product. The two tubes I purchased are missing this information entirely. I attached photos to compare the two tubes I just purchased (on the left) to a tube I already had in my possession (on the right). I am beyond nervous about using this product on my scalp and will be investigating further. Buyers beware!

Worked well. I have been using my own home color and bleaching first and it was really damaging my hair. So I was looking for some thing that would give me high lift to try to keep my light ash blonde and although not perfect, it’s really good, my color looks acceptable as I try to let my hair repair I used it with a simple 40 developer that I got from Sally beauty supply. I only used half the bottle so I have more for next time. It is a lifesaver for my damaged hair.

Ive been using this product for a few years now. it was recommended to me by my hairdresser. I have saved a lot of money with this product. The color comes out perfectly, and your hair is not damaged or dry. I give this product an excellent.
I love that this Matrix So Color permanent hair color is available at Walmart. I was able to get my formula from my hairdresser when I moved out of state and I wasn't sure where I was going to get my products. It is perfect for covering grey hair, does not smell bad, and is a pretty good price. My only wish is that there would be an easier way to measure the ounces.

Used with developer for 50 mins on bleached blonde hair. Colored the bleached blonde to a more pleasing shade. The head is more brassy than the lower strands and I am personally not achieving an ashly look - def more golden due to the bleach beforehand. After the 50 mins were up, I had difficulty rinsing out of my hair and had to shampoo the product out. I would buy again.
