I recommend measuring your foot to determine the correct sizing. By measuring I still have 8 cm of room for front and back.

These are your classic city walking sandals, and they are definitely worth having! Your feet will feel light as a breeze. The sizing isn't too "duck foot" nor does the bottom smack around all day while you are out for a walk. I find them comfy more or less right out of the box. The footbed is nice and soft.The velcro and straps feel well made. The sole takes its wear and tear. I am not sure how long the sole will last, but I expect to get a few seasons for their price. I'll be happy to replace them when the time comes.

I love the design of these sandals, but a few factors keep them from being real winners.1.) The nylon straps cut into my skin. Even after miles of break-in, the straps are simply too rough.2.) The sandals could use better traction. Their current sole prevents them from inspiring confidence in slippery conditions.3.) The price is too high for what is basically some foam and nylon straps.Again, the design and concept of this product is fantastic. It just needs better materials and a more competitive price to make them stand out. Please note I will most likely purchase an upgraded Teva offering such as the Hurricane XLT2.
I wear my tevas for doing anything and everything. Going grocery shopping? Throwin' down my tevas. I've backpacked portions of the Cascades in my tevas. Get 'em wet, dry 'em off, not a big deal. I got a bit of abrasion on my foot at the beginning, but once worn in (a few weeks), comfortable as heck.That being said, they run a bit big, they're the only shoe I wear a size 10 of, most things I'm a 10.5 or 11 (US sizing); even then, there's some extra toe space I occasionally snag on stuff.I get why people like chaco's, but the soles on mine delaminated pretty quickly and I found them heavy. I love how light tevas are, the cushion is sufficient without them being heavy, and they're the best bang for your buck in the sandal game as far as I can tell.

The rep didn't tell me that what I wanted is still available in a more expensive model, and so I wore the Universal and am still wearing them, but returned the second pair that I ordered with the same sole. I hike, walk on and in the ocean, streams etc with these on, so I guess I will see how long they last. I would not rebuy these, but would go with the non light weight sole of the Hurricaine or Terra F1, which seem to be a much more durable sandal, and what I did not see when I ordered the ones I did.
These are not my first Teva sandals, have worn them for years, still have a couple pair. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is that these particular sandals have a knobby semi rough surface on the insole, (the part the bottom of your foot touches), which isn't all that uncomfortable, but it's impossible to not feel it. I hope and expect that will flatten out over time, but for now it's like getting a foot massage from the bottom up. When I remove them my feet actually tingle a bit because of those little hard(ish) rubber pyramids. That doesn't make them unpleasant to wear, I'll get used to it, it's just something I noticed and wanted to share. Otherwise, like all Tevas I expect these to last years, and I truly love the drab green straps; now I can color coordinate!
The Teva Universal sandal is a very simple, effective design. After a little bit of break-in, it's very comfortable. I would have preferred an adjustable back strap, especially as your feet tend to slide back a little bit. They are easy to keep clean and are suited for most walking purposes. However, if you are between sizes, size down. I'm normally a 9.5, but the 10 was too large, had too much space in front of the toes. I went for the 9 instead, which fit a lot better. There is still space in front of my toes, but it's not as obvious and looks much better. It would be nice if in the future, Teva made half-sizes. There is also no toe loop, so if you have narrow feet, they will slide a bit laterally.
So these are the basic Tevas, and are solid sandals. I had to return because bought them for hubby and he wanted the next step up. So no issue with sandals per se. The negative with this purchase was that I bought 2 pairs of shoes, and had earned a $10 reward which I used. Dick's splits the reward when you buy multiple items. When I returned the one pair of shoes, I lost $5 of my reward. So if you have a reward check buy 1 item with it, and all others separately. That way you will make sure you don't end losing any of the reward if have to return an item.
