I love this sewing machine. I am completely new and know absolutely nothing about sewing. This model has little diagrams in two different colors on the top and side of the machine to assist even the most green novice on threading bobbins and threading the needle. It has a clear cover over the bottom compartment where the lower bobbin is kept so you can see when you are getting low on thread there. My friends who sew noticed that as s cool upgrade over other models. It’s really quiet, smooth, quick, easy to use, has neat diagrams and works very well. There’s also lots of videos online to show how to use it as well. Good purchase for a newcomer.

I have always been a 'Singer gal'....and I always will be. I bought this little red machine to have as a back-up for quilting, plus red is my color! I couldn't resist. I have an older Singer 7466 (which is FAB!!), but I wanted a simple, manual machine mainly for piecing and repairs. Also needed a lightweight machine to carry to my quilting group. Oh my goodness!! This thing is a tank - I'm actually quilting on it! My 7466 is jealous...I can feel the stares. Singer, you DO know sewing! Thank you! I also have my Mom's Singer from 1958...they're all workhorses!!

I'm not kidding I plugged it in, removed the tape from the foot, wound my bobbin, threaded my machine and repaired a hole on the side seam of my daughters brand new pants all in about 5 min.!! The motor runs fairly quiet, it's not silent but it's not invasive, I can hold a conversation on the phone and continue to sew. And it's steady, other machines vibrate and will "walk" right off the table if ya let them, not the 'Simple'. I'm very excited to use this machine and I'm already looking for extra projects to use it with. As far as cons go I haven't really found any, the needle threader was a bit awkward and took me three tries before I mastered it. Just make sure your needle is in the highest position and you'll be golden, so other than that it's been perfect. It's the perfect machine for anyone just starting to learn and anyone who has been sewing their entire life, it has just enough features to create beautiful decorative pieces and not be overwhelmed and it's just so easy to use...it's simple. My 86 year old grandmother would've loved it. I've always known Singer to be the go to brand for sewing machines and it still is. Thank you Singer!
This was a gift for my daughter a few years ago. It has been used less than 9 times for a total run time of maybe 2 hrs. Something snapped in the bobbin area and now it won’t function. And no it was not used by an inexperienced person nor to see any heavy materials.Warranty what a joke…, 90 days on mechanical parts but longer on other parts. Great for is it breaks in the first week.Save your money and buy a gnome or better quality sewing machine. Singer is definitely not worth what they expect you to pay. If I could return it I would.Currently looking to replace the junk with a better quality machine.
