Delighted with my new Sewing Machine. Absolutely fantastic features on this model to suit everytjing that I need and probably many more. I ordered this unit with next day delivery by DPD. The item arrived a couple of days after ordering. I do wish that I had waited another 24hours to order, as the free gift was far more suited to my needs i.e A3 cutting mat but I received the bundle with A4 cutting mat. I did get some bobbins and needles included by the online representative, which was kind. The free gifts arrived several days later via Royal Mail. Overall, I am delighted with the sewing machine which had a better price than other retailers.

I purchased my Singer HD 6800C sewing machine last year as a machine to do some projects while on an extended vacation. I have a Huscavarna at home. I was absolutely amazed by the quality and ease of this machine! I’m not a professional or even very experienced so any questions I had I checked out YouTube. I love the walking foot, which was included in the purchase (along with many other attachments). My original intention was to give this sewing machine to my daughter but I love it so much that I’m keeping it and buying her one too.I honestly think this is an excellent machine and great value.

I’ve been contemplating for a few months on what sewing machine would best match the projects I sew, and my sewing ability. I am a retired Home Economics teacher & have excellent sewing skills. I basically sew clothing, crafts, and hem jeans. When I saw this Heavy Duty Singer, priced right, I decided I’d give it a try! I am pleasantly surprised on how nice the machine sews. The utility stitches are balanced and even, and the machine sews relatively quiet for a heavy duty machine. It is easy to change stitches on the machine’s computer, and I’ve played with some of the embroidery settings.Although, the embroidery quality is fine for my needs, if you’re looking to do finer types of embroidery, I would invest in a machine specifically made for those types of ... MoreI’ve been contemplating for a few months on what sewing machine would best match the projects I sew, and my sewing ability. I bought the 6800c sewing machine a little over a week ago. I gifted my basic Singer machine to my sister because I wanted to get a heavy-duty Singer. After doing my research and reading the negative reviews, I was skeptical about purchasing the 6800c. I did much pondering on which machine to get. I decided to go with my gut feelings - I purchased the 6800c. After unboxing and going on YouTube for the tutorials, oh my, I am so impressed with all the bells and whistles that this machine has. I have been sewing for many years but on the basic Singer. I am so happy with my purchase. However, I've only performed the basic things to get familiar with the machine and have not started a project yet. As of now, so far so good!! I love it!! I made a few large purchases with singer recently and I’m so impressed with not only my purchase’s but the whole process of ordering and delivery. It’s so easy there hasn’t been a problem at all. You’re kept well informed throughout the process and it’s really simple. And on top of it all you make great saving’s.I know Singer is a big brand but it’s more than that for me. My mother always had a Singer sewing machine in our home. She even had a manual treadle machine which she taught me to sew on, which was passed down to me even though she and I had electric machines, which was a beautiful piece of furniture, which I kept in my soft furnishing and upholstery work shop. And in all those years it never broke down once. I've only had this machine for about 10 days, so the glow of new discovery is still burning bright!I bought this machine to replace a 40 year + machine which had recently begun to show it's age. i settled on this one because it is said to be heavy duty, and i sew with a variety of materials. this machine was incredibly easy to use right out of the box! i would have to agree with several reviewers that not having a printed manual sucks - some of the problems and frustrations other reviewers mentioned probably could have been resolved with a manual in hand. That said, the machine is very quiet, light-weight, and i LOVE the speed control! if you are a beginner, or are sewing tricky projects, speed control is a wonderful feature. I have not tested all the stitches (and there are loads of them); haven't tried the needle threader- frankly, it looks harder to manipulate than just sticking the thread thru the hole. This machine makes you want to sew!
The last machine I bought was in the 90s, so an upgrade was well overdue. It took me weeks to finally choose the HD6605C. It took a little getting used to as is fast, but, once I'd got a handle on the foot pedal pressure, it sewed like a dream. I wanted a machine which had the option to overlock, could tackle denim, oilskin and wool and also some embroidery stitches. It is quite noisy but sewed straight through layered denim with ease. The stitch length settings and tension setting is fantastic for the change from stretch to heavy woven fabrics and for shirring. I haven't tried wool with it yet, that's next on the agenda. The embroidery stitches are just a dream. What normally takes hours by hand, it's just fantastic to be able to machine stitches like that. The auto threading of the needle is revolutionary for me, I don't know if it's a new function but why wasn't it invented earlier! I love the choice of stitches on this machine, 100 in total. Being able to adapt the stitch to suit the fabric and finish I want, it's certainly letting me be more creative with what I sew. I haven't worked out how to lower the teeth on it but am sure I will do. Love the battle ship grey colour. Great machine.
I am very happy with this machine. It threads easily. The basic stitch is balanced and even. The basic stretch stitch is very nice. The reinforced stretch stitch is a little bulky so I will use a thinner thread for those seams in the future. The one step buttonholer works as promised (thank goodness but you still must make a few practice buttonholes before you buttonhole your garment!) This machine sewed through 5 layers of denim slowly but successfully. Six layers was a no-go. It comes with a walking foot, a free motion foot, a blind hem foot, and a zipper foot, although you don't need this one as much because you can move the needle position left or right of center. The needle stop position is preset to up but you can set it to down. This must be done each time ... MoreI am very happy with this machine. It threads easily. The basic stitch is balanced and even. As other reviewers pointed out the lighting directly under the needle is good but there is a shadow to the right so I had to bring out supplemental lighting. It's a little noisy, not too bad. One must go online to find the owner's manual. I wish the seam allowance markings on the throat plate were a little more prominent. I bought it to fill in for a Janome until I can find a sewing machine repair person but I will definitely use it as much as my other one - if I can get that one repaired.
Big birthday, big birthday gift, my husband, sister and my good friend gifted me money to buy this machine. I'm mainly a soft furnishings, quilting, sewer and this machine is going to be brilliant. I like a sewing machine to feel that it can handle anything. most modern day domestic machines are too light and fragile in my opinion. I'm already delighted, currently quilting on it and I'm enjoying using it. I bought the extension table as well, fantastic. 2 minor criticisms. 1. you have to download the manual. I understand why but it would be nice to have one in the box. I've got manuals for my other machines, and it's convenient for a quick reference mid sewing. 2. The cover is beyond flimsy, I've got to get something better than that and it looks dreadful in my ... MoreBig birthday, big birthday gift, my husband, sister and my good friend gifted me money to buy this machine. It's plastic, digital and fragile. I knew I needed heavy duty but sewing machines aren't built the same as they once were. However, this machine shocked me. I have a different model, I don't have the auto cut feature, but I work with a lot of thick coarse layers, including leather. With the correct needle and thread, I tested its endurance with one piece of firm genuine leather. It sewed through fine. Of course I needed to see how hard-core this machine was and folded the two together and it sewed through both. I tried to rip the pieces apart but they are married for life. It has many features that are unnecessary and the automatic threader is more of an inconvenience and time consuming for those who use their machine for its abilities to stich. It has many features that are unnecessary and the automatic threader is more of an inconvenience and time consuming for those who use their machine for its abilities to stich. It's not an app that gives you false delusion by offering "painless" ways to sew more, sew faster and precise without effort or basic knowledge. If something requires almost no effort or comprehension, it won't make you an instant sewing master. It won't teach you how to go beyond. I work with raw leather, thick fabrics and require a machine to prove its worth. Realeather craft has so many leather options but the hard straps I could never sew. Now I can and I don't need automatic cutting. I can finally sew wallets, straps, belts, and thick layers of denim, leather (soft, thin, "vegan", chords, and my dream bag will not only look like a boss but hold up over time. It's has so many decorative stitches but that's not why I bought it. I never had first hand witness to its power. But be aware, you need special needles, thread (Gutterman and upholstery thread are the most effective), and a high level of knowledge with the different leather types and it'll change how you sew, what you sew and like anything, you learn by experience. I've broken hundreds if needles but now I know why and how to prevent damage.
