Philips Lumea Advanced SC1994/00 Light Depilation Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) Pink, White

Performance:Fast delivery, ordered on 15 Feb and got delivered on 17 Feb. Bought the Philips Lumea 7000 series 2 weeks ago and I have used it once only because the instruction says first treatment once every 2 weeks. Very easy to use with the quick instructions and it’s not heavy at all. Comes with a bag for storage. I have very sensitive skin and I don’t see any bad skin reaction to it. I use it on my legs. I tried the light intensity from 1 to 5 and it doesn’t hurt at all. It has this flash light to indicate your skin tone is safe for use. Try not to look at it while you press it to release the flash. It’s super bright.

An excellent product for its purpose

This product arrived very promptly. Its instructions are comprehensive, easy to follow and understand, and very descriptive in helping the reader understand exactly how to use it along with many recommendations and safety advice.The heat from the product's light is very gentle and barely noticeable, with a selection of heat settings for your preference. The pulse from the light is very bright even when pressed hard against the skin, which is something worth noting.It will take time for results to show, but from an operational point of view this product provides a very friendly user experience. It is intuitive and easy to operate and simple and clear instructions.

Gets the Job done

Can't agree more, the product does what it says. I have been using this product for about 8 weeks. For testing I started working on my armpits and bikini line. The first attempt was difficult as it was hard to find the right light intensity due to my dark skin under the armpits. It wasn't paining but there was the stinging sensation in your skin which is in any case nothing compared to waxing or plucking, as far as I'm concerned. The next sessions were smoother with reduced light intensity, thanks to Philips Lumea app. After 4 sessions I have observed that the hair growth is at a lower pace. I am sure it will be get better in longer usage. All in all, very positive. Great product but not great results.

I bought this product after getting fed up of having to shave my legs everyday because the hair would grow back super quick. I am pale and have black thick hair which should be the perfect skin /hair type for this product. Been using it for 10 weeks now but the hairs still grow back after 2/3 days. Yes there has been a slight reduction and it has slowed down the growth but nothing like the advertised 100% hair free. I’ve tried it on other areas like my arms, armpits too to see if results would vary but I am not hair free anywhere. Quite disappointed as after reading all the reviews I really though this product would be what makes my life easier.

Immediate results!

So glad I bought it. I saw immediate results. It does take longer to treat than stated when actually using it on different parts of your body, but it’s worth it in the longer term. I have a low pain threshold so in some parts it did hurt me - I just lowered the setting to manage it. Initially it only heated up once and I had to turn it off, but I was able to reuse it after a minute. After using the device around 8 times, the cooling recovery time is longer, so you do have to wait for around 4/5 mins to allow it to cool down. It happens about 2/3 times in a large area (e.g half a leg).But overall, I would recommend this product, it’s great and I should have bought it sooner.

This product is not amazing at all.

Not too sure if the previous reviews are real. But here is a 100% genuine one.Firstly, the Philips Lumea App is not available in Singapore. You won't be able to download from playstore nor from the url provided. The few Philips staff that I engaged with had assist to "escalated" the issue of the "App not available in your country/region" and most said the technical team will get back within 24-48 hours. After 6 days.. they got back and said that they will release the App in April. I bought the product in early march and I was told to wait for the App release. If the App is not ready, why did Philips sell the product.Secondly, I am considered a pretty fair Asian. With their key statement "Suitable for a wide variety of hair and skin types". It is NOT TRUE. Its forever in "orange"- which means "it is too dark for this product it will automatically stop emitting pulses." In this case, I couldn't even use the product at all. In fact it is mostly orange on parts of my legs at well which are considered fair and definitely in the range of Philips "suitable" skin type.Not really recommended for purchase unless you are like snow white..Pretty disappointed with this product.. its not cheap either..

Wish I had purchased sooner

I have PCO so have always suffered from extra dark facial hair, made me very self conscious, every day I had to factor in time to de fuzz my face, which could take 45 mins. I had seen the Lumea a few years ago on a Black Friday sale on Amazon, they aren’t cheap, I didn’t have the money and thought I will save for that next year, next year came and I was worried if I brought it and it didn’t work, so I left it, none of my friends had purchased one so I had no one to ask, but this year, Boots had a great offer so I thought just do it, and after the first two uses I could see a difference, I’m now almost hair free on my neck, chin and lower face. I’m still getting used to getting up and putting my make up and I’m ready.
