The NF-A14 is one of Noctua's renowned and popular fans. Its square frame makes it ideal for use on water cooling radiators or as a case fan. The chromax.black.swap edition combines the NF-A14's signature quiet cooling performance with an attractive design and a bundle of swappable anti-vibration pads, that allow the color-customization of the fan to match individual build color schemes. Topped off with Noctua's trusted premium-grade SSO2 bearing and long hours MTTF, the NF-A14 PWM chromax.black.swap is the perfect choice for all users, who value individual, focused build aesthetics just as much as high quality and performance.

Believe the Hype, best 140mm fan on the market

I bought these fans to replace some Purewings 2 case fans. They were quiet but didn't move a lot of air with a max 1000rpm. The Noctuas not only lowered my CPU temps by 2 degrees Celsius but were even quieter. Impressive quality, it has a heft that feels very solid and well built. I see some people complain about the price but for what you get I consider it a bargain. If anything you get too much. The Low Noise Adapter seems a little redundant since you can set your fan speeds in the Bios and the silicon anti-vibration pegs were of limited use since they can only be installed in a mounting hole not a slot and you need open access to all four corners of your fan to pull them through the holes. Not that I think it's a bad thing to get extra hardware, on the contrary ... MoreI bought these fans to replace some Purewings 2 case fans. I bought Noctua NF-A14 case fans to install on the top of the computer case, so the heated air can also be released from the top. They are absolutely outstanding and superior fans and yet, very quiet. My CPU (i7-8700) used to increase up to 74 degrees Celsius and 69 degrees for GPU (RTX 2080) while running Fire Strike, but after installing these fans on the top, the temperature dropped at least 4 degrees. Hence now, the CPU hits 67 degrees and GPU goes up to 65 degrees. This will definitely save your computer in Summer. Highly recommended.

They're not cheap but if you want quality, Noctua are they only way to go.Their PWM ICs (the chip inside the fan that controls it speed) are the best in the market. They give you the widest control (this fan for example can operate as low as 300RPM) and unlike other manufacturers do not emit switching noise.I found the sweet spot for airflow vs complete silence at idle to be around the 480-500RPM range. This is in comparison to the their 120mm fans that provide the same characteristics at 600RPM. Performance at 1500 RPM and static pleasures is also great. The only downside is their colour scheme but If you're like me and prefer function over form, you can't get any better. That or you could try their redux/industrial range with slightly higher RPM ranges.

Great fans
3 August 2015

I have this system in sort of a home theater setup with a 42" TV as one of the monitors and the computer sits under the TV. It is about 5ft away from me. If I put a stress test on the system causing all the fans to spin up to their maximum speed, my 15" desk fan that I have sitting about 6ft away will overpower the PC fans on its lowest setting. Basically if its a warm day and I have that fan running I cant hear my PC at all even if I was under extreme load. My case is pretty open too, so nothing to dampen any noise. I have two of these installed as intakes in the front of my case (Cooler Master HAF XB EVO Mid Tower). As a reference these two fans just start to become audible to me at around 900 RPM and that's just where I start to hear them if it's completely ... MoreI have this system in sort of a home theater setup with a 42" TV as one of the monitors and the computer sits under the TV. As a reference these two fans just start to become audible to me at around 900 RPM and that's just where I start to hear them if it's completely silent in my house and neighborhood. They are still extremely quiet at that RPM. If I were to put my hand near the back of the case .. at 900 I can easily feel the air from those fans. At 680 RPM, which has sill plenty of airflow for a light to medium load, I literally have to put my head 2 inches away to even hear them.. and I think I'm hearing the air going through the screen mesh and not the actual fans at that point. Surfing the net... I never hear my fans .. intense gaming usually the sound of the game even at low levels overpowers the sound of the fans unless it gets really quiet in the game. *though this has changed since I got a 390X which overpowers all 8 of my fans when gaming even if the fans had to run at max speed. I need some Noctua fans for my GPU

Incredibly good fan, pushes air very well both "static pressure" and "airflow", doesn't make much noise in my case either (NZXT H440). Uses 2 as an exhaust fan at the top and notices a big difference in the heat of the air that comes out.Tip - if you have a similar case: Put a piece of cardboard in the front at the top where you have not placed a fan, so that there are no "openings". You want to create negative pressure in the case, and this helps with that. A little more expensive than the others fans but you definitely get what you pay for. Long warranty is a big plus too. Good investment!

A good case fan from Noctua NF-A14 5V PWM. A good model with 140 mm dimensions, has a normal design and high characteristics. It's a quiet, a pwm control of speed, efficiency and quiet. A price is normal.

Not QUIET
22 February 2020

I have 2 200mm fans and 2 120mm fans of Noctua's NF-A line up and those are fantastic ultra quiet fans that I can run at 100% power and hardly hear anything other then the amount of wind moving through the case. I have no idea what went wrong with the 140mm version, thought I got a dud, the replacement was the exact same way. Over 40% power and it's way louder than all 4 other fans running at 100%. I'm just going to get another 120mm and call it a day. I really do hope they either fix or drop the quiet fan tag off this product, every other thing about this fan is perfect otherwise, hince the 2 egg rating, it is a premium fan and gets the job done better than other fans for moving air, it's just not quiet as advertised.

Premium fans live up to their name

I bought these to help quiet down a very beefy build I put together. Using a 9900k with a 280mm radiator, I replaced both the radiator fans and 3 more case fans with this model. When I first turned my PC on after swapping the fans out, I thought I broke it or unplugged something because I heard NOTHING. Then my monitor turned on and I realized that the fans were just THAT quiet. I use vmware workstation pro and run approximately 20 virtual machines, and the fans are still barely audible under that load. They do a great job of pushing enough air through the unit, and remain so quiet I have to take my headphones off to hear them under load. When you take these out of the packaging, they feel heavy in your hands. Quality through and through

I have two of these as intakes in the front of my case. These things scream quality … the weight, the rotation, the lack of any play in the fan, the materials – all top notch. I can see why Noctua confidently offers a 6 year warranty. I use a case fan controller which offers 12, 7 and 5 volts. Without the LNA, and the fans at max 12v (1500rpm), they are definitely audible, even through a noise dampened Desxxgn R4 case. The sound isn’t obnoxious at all, just a distinctly audible wind rush sound. However at that 1500rpm they push a crazy amount of air! I have mine on the LNA and my case controller @ 12v – so they run at a constant 1300 rpm, and are dead silent at that setting. They’ve dropped temps a few degrees with a more silent operation than my previous 140mm fans up front. Other fans may offer equal airflow or sound levels? Not sure ... but for me the selling point on these is that they deliver the goods with the additional piece of mind that exceptional build quality and a 6 year warranty bring. Check ‘em once and close the case. See ya in 6 years! I have no problem shelling out a few extra bucks for that and am very happy with these fans. I’m sure I’ll buy more in the future.
