This machine has been around for years and it is widely regarded as being iconic in design. Everything about this machine is each unit is still assembled by hand and individually checked by a real person! The switch between half a jug and a full jug is really useful. When brewing a coffee, I actually take the lid off the coffee funnel so that I can watch the hot water falling onto the ground coffee, which further enhances the pleasure. You will either love the design (like we do) or you will think it rather dated... either way, it brews a superb coffee.

Had the machine for 3 months. Working fantastically. Does have a vintage look which does look cool but slightly cheap parts. Easy to keep clean. Wish it had a removable water tank.Has been super convenient - I dose out the beans the night before, fill up the water tank. In the morning its grind, press the button and filter coffee is ready within 5 minutes, brews more than enough for 2 people, for all day kept in yeti flasks.

We bought the Moccamaster Select in Matt Black in December and have been enjoying it daily. I usually start my day with a long black made with my Cafelat Robot and then make a pot with the Moccamaster to take to work in a thermos. Throughout the week we have lots of family and friends visit and can't make an espresso for everyone. The Moccmaster makes a strong smooth delicious coffee quickly.We looked long and hard at what coffee maker to buy and then when we decided on a Moccamaster we decided upon the Select mode. We often make less than a pot and it works a treat. We like the look and that it is handmade in Europe.Alternative Brewing shipped quickly and efficiently with no problems. I highly recommend both AB and the Moccamaster Select.
I ordered this product from Marmuro Europe. When I received the product I was surprised to find that it had a European plug instead of a UK plug. As I ordered it on Amazon UK, I assumed it was a UK Plug. There were no pictures or mentions of plugs on the product information page. As the voltage was appropriate, I assumed it would be a UK plug. The machine is 10 times more expensive than the usual off the shelf coffee machine so it needed to be pretty good to make it worthwhile. We were fortunate enough that a family member had one so we could try it beforehand. It really does make a huge difference. The same coffee tastes smoother and less bitter and I feel it justifies the price difference. The design is good and it looks good on the countertop. It looks well built and robust so hopefully it will stand the test of time. So far so good.

But I was wrong. The coffee it brews is ok, it's quite smooth and pleasant but with no clarity and aroma of the hand brewed. To be honest- filling the tank, putting the grinds in putting the fiddly filter and cover on seems not much less work than brewing by hand. The problem is that it has no blooming stage so it just spays water like every other machine for 19 euros. Leaving the bed very uneven. So unless you really brew big batches every morning I would ... Going back to a world of percolated coffee now knowing what I know about brewing was a dream of mine. Getting the moccamaster and thee fellow sifter really takes that experience to next level. With the taste of the coffee on par with v60 I can make a pot and really charge my work from home. The service from Alternative Brewing to get this all packaged up and sent to me was super fast as well.
i cannot understand some negative comments,as a retired engineer chemicals etc my teaching was and is if working well,then leave alone and that is certainly what the company has done. it is so simple really not much to go wrong but simplicity here make a perfect coffee quietly and superfast,simple to clean too. yes i have one minor gripe and that is the fastening of the lid on the container it is very hard to clean without knocking the lid off,it would be better with a metal pin through it which i may do myself. but the maker is solid and with good plastic,highly recommended.
