I have been using Mobil 1 synthetic oil for over 10 years in all my and my son's vehicles. None of them have had any mechanical motor issues in all that time. Prior to using Mobil 1 I had 3 vehicles have major mechanical engine issues. I am not a mechanic but am mechanically inclined and am convinced this is some excellent oil.

This is truly a Group IV synthetic oil with a robust additive package that I use in almost all my higher end cars; for one older vehicle that I acquired used, I use AutoZone's STP Group III synthetic which is a good value/oil.I don't run the oil for the mileage Mobil says you can (and you should get their oil filter if you buy this oil) but do run it confidently 8-9000 miles or 6-7 months, whichever comes first.I ran this oil in another car and at 250,000 miles, the valvetrain looked like new.

I bought Mobil 1 Extended Performance 5-30 + Mobil 1 oil filter right before my road trip. As I read it was known better for my Turbo Suv. I changed and fill up my tank with mobil supreme. My 2017.5 Mazda cx-9 grand Touring was running so smooth and accelerate fast smooth. My 10 hour road trip destinations was awesome. I had to downgrade later on to regular 87 & super due to crazy high pricesMy cousin which has the same car told me why my car engine less noisy and it's smoother quicker than hers. I told her and show her the product on my phone.** Overall 5 star for the Mobil 1 Extended Performance 5-30I will be using this from now on but hope price doesn't inflation more maybe go down ☺️. I have been buying his oil for a long time never paying much attention to rebates. I purchase 10 quarts and submitted the rebate on line. To my surprise. It was refused as non participating vendor. It was Amazon for Pete sake. How can they not be a participating vendor. Anyways I like this oil because I feel good using a Exxon product. My daughters Subaru Outback likes it because it burns less between oil changes. A few dollars more, sure but if I bring it to jiffy lube or one of the other retailers. Who is to know what they use. Oil consumption says it all for me.
Mobil 1 has kept the engines in my cars running like new and my cars are not new. I'm a car guy and maintain 8 vehicles with Mobil 1 for me and my family (six drivers). This includes a van, five SUVs, a sedan and a high performance sports car. Years range from 2001 to 2015 and odometers range from 35k to 250k. No engine failures, oil leaks, or burning of oil. If for some reason and oil change is extended due to the vehicle being remote than this is the oil you want in that engine, I never worry about Mobil 1 letting me down because I've used it for over 25 years.I'm a F1 fan and my favorite team also uses Mobil1
Background:In 2012, bought my Ford Edge Limited V6 with 32,000 miles on it. Decided to try Mobile 1 5W20 Synthetic. Started with their 10,000 mile, went to their 15,000 mile, now use 20,000 mile EP oil and have 210,000 miles on the car. The way I rate oil is by my car's oil sensor which tells me when I am down to 5% oil life, then I change it. Used to drive an average about 30,000 miles per year, now 12-15,000 miles.Oil:With 10,000 mile oil, I got between 8-10,000 miles depending on city or highway milesWith 15,000, I get between 12-13,000 milesWith 20,000, 15-17,000 milesI tried Gastrol Edge 20,000 mile oil, when Mobil's EP was selling for $44 a jug ( I use 6qts/oil change) - only got about 10,000 miles. Switched back to Mobil 15,000 mile oil, until prices at Walmart for ET oil changed to about $3 more - Now use ET!Oil Filters: Originally, used XG 10,000 & 15,000 filters, Walmart started carrying the Mobil 1 filters. Changed to Mobile 1 and got an additional 1-1.5k miles/oil change.Am now over 70, pay an additional $13,00 to have someone else change and dispose of the oil, but during this entire time have NEVER had an engine-related failure. Just bought a 2020 Ford Edge (attention span isn't what I once had and felt I needed the new safety features). My old Ford will probably go to a family member or someone in need of reliable transportation.Bottom line: As long as the price isn't ridiculous, I will stick with Mobil 1 - nothing I have tried matches their performance.
This is a quality synthetic oil but I don't agree with how much time and mileage it say you should change it. You should always change your oil every 4-5 thousand miles and even if you don't do a lot of mileage you should change it a least every 6 months. I have have seen first hand that if you follow mobile 1 extended oil and only change every 12 thousand miles the oil gets baked on internal parts of the engine. CHANGING YOUR OIL IS BETTER AND CHEAPER THAN REPLACING A ENGINE. You should not cheap out on engine oil. It is the lifeblood of your cars engine. If you do the right maintenance you can easily get 300 thousand miles out of a modern engine. Also another thing I want people to know is that every hour of a idling in your car is equal to doing about 25 miles. ... What can I say…… I’ve been using Mobil synthetic oil for over 40 Years (!) and have had nothing but success with it. This new Extended Performance version allows me to go up to 20,000 miles or One year on a single oil change (Follow your manufacturers recommended oil change schedule listed in the owners manual). Imagine only having to have your oil changed once a year instead of the normal 3 or 4 times a year! Not only will you like the convenience of a yearly oil change, you’ll probably like what it does for your engine. This oil will not only save you money on gas because of the synthetic properties, but it will also clean up any left over sludge and varnish from the previous oil changes. It’s a win-win!Don’t over think this. It’s a no brained. Go out and pick ... MoreWhat can I say…… I’ve been using Mobil synthetic oil for over 40 Years (!) and have had nothing but success with it. Two 03's, one 06, GM's Have been using Mobil1 for too many years to count (40+). I change oil at 6 month intervals on the 06 wife's car regardless of the miles ( usually less than 5,000), yearly on hardly driven 03's. (Less than 1K each) So, with filters and all, I spend around a hundred bucks per year, with rebates. Notice - two 03's and an 06, bought new. Take care of your engines! They are all still like new to me.
I used this particular oil (extended performance 5w-30) on a 2007 toyota corolla and a 2006 nissan quest van. Different results occurred. The corolla is now at 167k miles and still going strong no engine trouble that I am aware of. On the nissan quest it was a different story though....at 170k miles i noticed significant oil burning and at one time I took it in for an oil change and mechanic said I had only 2 quarts left in the engine. At 210k miles the camshaft bearings gave out and I had to get rid of the van instead of paying over 4k to repair it. Maybe it wasn't the oil as much as it was just the build quality of nissans are not as good as toyotas?? I'm not certain what the real explanation is here. I never ever ever went over 6,000 miles even if it was an extended performance formula and I used the mobil 1 m1-108 oil filter on the nissan all the time. M1-103 on the corolla. We sold the corolla to a relative 6 months ago as-is condition and I haven't heard any issues engine wise from the buyer. The corolla doesn't burn oil and it always passes smog test even at 11 yrs old. Same oil, same viscosity, same extended performance formulation on both vehicles.
