Janome 6650 Memory Craft Computerized Quilting and Sewing Machine

THIS replaces my 30 year old Baby Lock. So much has changed!! We are still getting acquainted, but so far the instruction guide has been very helpful. My advice to others is to watch you tube videos and keep the guide handy. My favourite changes so far inclde the automatic thread clipper and the variable position needle. I was pleasantly surprised that both the extension table and quilting accessories were included.

This machine is everything I wished for. It is a beautiful machine, wonderful features, like the automatic thread cutter and automatic needle threader. The package included a great instruction manual. I have not received the bobbin case #200445007 which was backordered. The 3 LEDs really help. I did not receive the instructional DVD that was to be to be included in the accessories. Please send me the DVD.

Love it so far. Very smooth, powerful and quiet compared to my old machine. Has a huge work area which will be so helpful for quilting. Does not come with a walking foot, had to oder that elsewhere.

Brought this beauty home last night, read the manual and got to sewing. If anyone is having problems with the needle threader or bobbin jamming, CHECK YOURSELF and read the manual - you’re definitely doing something wrong. This machine is a beast and doesn’t make mistakes - if there’s a problem, it’s human error... hey, we’re human! If you’re considering this machine, good luck finding one! Love, love, love this beauty! Did I say how quiet it was? Did I mention the sweet as pie lighting??? So bright!

Janome MC 6650

I only use my sewing machine for making quilts. This machine is a most welcome addition to my sewing room. I look forward to making many more quilts with this machine.

Janome MC6700

I truly love this machine. I originally ordered the Janome MC6550P. For whatever reason the company sent me a free upgraded model the MC6700. This is the best machine I have ever used. The accufeed system is amazing. It's construction is solid and the operation is flawless. The stitches are beautiful and constant. It's so easy to use all of the decorative stitches. I will never own another sewing machine. Thank you, thank you, thank you! Elizabeth

Janome Memory Craft machine

I purchased this high end machine to do quilting and regular sewing on. I have been making masks with this machine and some alterations. The machine bobbin jammed and a needle bent. I am not sure if this machine is the quality it is toted to be. I was able to get the machine running smoothly again but am worried it might jam again. Especially quilting with thicker layers. I may not keep this machine. I will continue to assess and work with it.

Recently purchased the Memory Craft 6650 and haven't been disappointed yet. I'm just getting my feet wet with the free motion settings but it is very nice. I've watched many videos, put out by Janome and others who are giving their thoughts on the machine, and so far haven't needed much help in figuring out how to use it. I've made 4 quilt since I purchased because I love it so much haha. I constantly think about going and working on a project. Needle up down function is great for quilting, I also thoroughly enjoy the thread cutting option and the multiple ways to use (foot pedal, button, or lever option) makes me think this would be a good machine for many people in all walks of life. I recommend it all the time to others.

Loving my new Janome Memory Craft 6650

I was lucky to find this machine on sale exactly when I was ready to step up. Sewing on this machine is a dream. I like not using the foot pedal and having the thread cutter. It will save me so much thread! There are some good tutorials on YouTube and I find myself referring back to them. I’ve been able to sew through several layers with no problems. I keep finding things I like about this machine.

Not good for free motion quilting, cannot return product once the box is opened

My biggest frustration here is that the return policy shown on this product is misleading. The excerpt on the sales page claims that most products can be returned. It is only when you click through to the detailed return policy that you read that for corded electronics, you cannot return items after the box has been opened.That means that if, like I did, you try out this machine and find that it does not work well for free motion quilting, you cannot return it to Joann.This machine has a top loading bobbin, and I have found that on my machine the bobbin case "jumps" out of its required position very easily when free motion quilting. This causes an emergency stop and generally causes the needle to strike the bobbin case (which is now in the wrong position). If this occurs several times, the timing of the machine is likely to go out of alignment and you may require service to get stitching to work at all.The folks at Janome provide support for online purchases through mass retailers like Joann Fabrics. I've find Janome support to be very friendly and helpful, and I can ship the machine for service. I'll be without the machine for up to three weeks, maybe more, and if I need this again in the warrantee period, I will have to pay for shipping.I feel that the main problem here is that the return limitations should be spelled out up from MUCH more clearly so that customers understand that the return options are incredibly limited for this purchase, especially given the price of this item.
