I needed a new sewing machine after years of having to use a very old hand-me-down and originally i tried to order one from a different store, once that store canceled my order on me twice without a proper explanation i came here and found this one! Its even better than the original one i had wanted and it was almost the same price too! Not only that but my sewing machine got to my house in a little over 24 hrs!The instructions are super clear and the sewing machine works great! I couldnt be happier with my purchase and I highly recommend this machine to anyone looking! Whether you are a beginner or a veteran sewer this is definitely a great machine!

Oh I love this Brother machine. It works beautiful and easy to set up. I highly recommend it. This was a good Buy. I wasn't crazy about the covering case. So I put it in my hard case and bought a soft case for the old machine I had. I am totally pleased. I had a lock down portable white hard case I used and place the new cover to old machine which fit right into my soft case.

I just want to let you know how excited I was about learning Bother sewing machines offered the no foot peddle feature. I am a c6/7 quadriplegic confined to wheelchair with no use of my legs. I love to sew and these Brother machines really saved me by letting me do one of the things I always loved to do. I have been using these machines for about 20 plus years and never had a problem with any of them. I’m on my second one because I wore out the last one. I use it mainly to make quilts. Now I can use both my hands to sew without having to worry about using a foot pedal. Thank you Brother!!

Nice machine, without spending a fortune. I replaced a Brother machine I had had for several years. This machine has several built in features that make it very nice to run. The video that came with it was also helpful, I have sewn for several years and it never hurts to learn something new. Love the expandable table that makes it much easier for large projects. Wish there was more than one size letter for the lettering that this machine does, but other than that I am totally enjoying every aspect of this machine.

I bought it for her as a surprise gift just because.There’s so many stitches for her to choose from, she’ll never use them all. She loves the self threading function. She had trouble threading the needle on her old machine so this was a godsend to her. I don’t know square one about sewing but my mom does. As a 57 year old guy, I recommend buying your mom a little something special every now and then just because. Show her you love her and you’ll make her very happy.
Love the machine's ease of stitch selection and it's lightweight so easy to move around. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that the arm, without the table, is just too big for stitching cuffs. I had to keep my old machine for that. And, the instructions on the self-threader are not clear. I had to search for an online video from a private user in order to figure it out. Still, great machine for the money.
Great machine for the price. Can't claim I've tested every single feature, but it does what 95% of buyers are going to need, and does it well. Couple of little items that could be improved / fixed for cheap. Needle screw - keep as is, just add a small triangle plastic thumbscrew over set screw. Wouldn't interfere w operation, costs virtually nothing, adds 'quick change needle, no screw driver needed' as a feature. Expand / improve official Brother YouTube guides. Shouldn't have YouTubers doing better instructional videos for using your equipment that the actual company. Or partner w one of them and make it your official.
I am not an experienced sewer so this was a splurge purchase on my part. I used it for the first time this weekend and it was very straightforward and easy to figure out. In no time I was seeing curtains as if I had been sewing things forever. I am very pleased with all the features this particular unit has. Many I did not even realize until I looked to see what certain things did. You will not be disappointed with this purchase. I would definitely buy again.
I bought this for my wife as a Christmas gift to upgrade her existing machine. While practicing the different stitches the machine kept ripping the material. She had to take it apart and try to figure out why it kept doing it. She finally was able to talk with a friend that had a similar model and had similar issues and was able to get it working. Pretty frustrating for a brand new product. Returning it would have been a hassle because the newest store is miles away. Hopefully the issue is resolved and no further issues will arise. She has not had it long enough to give a comprehensive review.
Just received it today. Good instruction manual., and great idea for the dvd. As I read in another review, the machine is a little noisy. Tried several stitches and works well. No real tension issue. There is no walking foot, so this would have to be purchased for the serious quilters. This machine is a comfort since I just returned a 7000x for poor stitching. I feel I will be happy with this model. Just a last note; I noticed the needle threader is very close to the needle when sewing, I hope this doesn't cause the threader component to wear away and need replacing.
