This keyboard is very good. The version I bought came with Gateron Brown switches, but you can customize it with a wide variety of switches and keycaps from the manufacturer's website. I bought this keyboard for a few reasons:1. Hot Swap-able - I now do not have to go out and buy another keyboard for the sole purpose of getting another style switch. This keyboard lets you switch out the switches!!! Note: Only 3 pin plate mount switches will work in this pcb. If you have 5 pin pcb mount switches, you're going to have to clip the 2 pins off (permanently making the switch a 3 pin.)2. The stock switch it comes with is sooooo good! I was really hesitant on purchasing it with the Gateron browns pre-installed. Boy am I glad that I gave it a shot. These are so much smoother and much more pleasant to type on compared to the Cherry browns I have tried in the past.3. At this price point, PBT is the onyl way to go, but thankfully it's a minor setback that's easy to fix.

I have always wanted a higher quality mechanical keyboard, and the GMMK does not disappoint. It is very well built and includes the nice and lightly tactile Gateron Brown switches. I love that I can replace the switches if required, basically extending the lifespan of the keyboard if a switch fails. The included red 'ascend' and Glorious logo key that can replace the Escape and Windows kerys add a nice touch. The included RGB is not garish and can be turned off easily.Note that I received the newer model with USB-C and the improved stabilisers.

The lighting is very nice, with smooth animations, but it is not so bright that it will blind you like I have seen on other keyboards. Where this keyboard shines is with the ability to customize it. I added some Durock clipped/lubed stabs, Boba U4T switches (clipping required but is very easy to do), and a nice PBT keycap set. The result is simply outstanding. It is almost a fully custom keyboard that costs less than a "group buy" empty case/shell by itself, and that includes all the additions I listed above. If RGB is your thing, you could easily keep the stock keycaps or get some nice pudding/crystal keycaps to make the lighting pop. Overall, I am so ... MoreThis keyboard is very nice out of the box. Really great Base kit for a First Mechanical Keyboard, really strong and durable base, included cable is Long and reaches in most scenarios. The hot swap functionality is really nice, but its compatibility is limited to 3-pin Plate Mount based switches, if you are going to swap out the stock switches it comes with.The Quality of the Keycaps and Stabilizers though, are questionable. Quite a few keycaps had excess plastic from when they were formed in moulds, and came out pretty sharp too. An awesome product!I came from an old Corsair k70lux (red led, mx blues). I Didn't realise the difference a good quality switch and keyboard can make to the overall pc experience.The Gateron browns are great so far, although I've got the itch to try out the hot swap-ability already!TKL is an awesome size so far, the shortcuts with the Fn key are easy to get used to.The keycaps are solid, stabilisers seem great, and the USB C connector is great.All-in-all a great step up from what I was using, with the ability to customise further down the road,Highly recommend!
Already familiar with Gateron switches, actually similar feels to cherry to my fingers.Bonus now is I can change switches later.Software is ok too.Got it on sale, so had some extra extra cash to change the keys too.
When I first touched the keyboard I immediately appreciated the quality of the keys. They seem as though they wouldn’t stick like on my older keyboard. They are responsive and clicky. The modularity is something I will need to look into as I might want to experiment with different keys and switches. The rgb features are simple and give you what you need. Thought I would need or miss the numpad area but haven’t had a need for it since I bought this keyboard. Amazing keyboard for the price and if you don’t want to spend 200$+ on one.

Features: I love how it's hotswap straight out of the box without any soldering or setup. It's also very easy to modify the stabilizers/put foam inside. Remember though that it is 3 pin hotswap, so the gateron yellows I bought for it needed to be clipped. The board is a low-profile or floating design, love it or hate it. Also the RGB lighting is limited but the so-called "Glorious mode" is what I've been using and I like it. Stock switches/stabs: The stock switches that came with it are very bad. Pingy, scratchy, and overall not comfortable or good sounding. So if you're not planning on swapping, keep that in mind. They aren't awfulbut I recommend swapping them for other plate mount stabs. Pricing: Great price at $50, and I definitely think that it's worth it. If I hadn't ordered it I wouldn't have been able to tell it is refurbished! Other options are available however they either lack the quality or are too small/large a layout.

The aluminum top plate adds a substantial feeling to the board that makes it feel premium and the plastic casing under that feels quality and long lasting. The rgb is easily adressable if you're into that sort of thing. The stock switches are fine, I dont know anything about switch types so I cant speak at length on them, all I can really say is that they feel good to type on. The braided cable is appreciated.
