This is my 2nd B&W Zeppelin, my first, a John Lewis supplied lightning connection unit developed what appears to be a common fault with the amplifier and I was left with an expensive door stop as B&W no longer supported the unit and the perfectly good speakers couldn't be powered without the inbuilt amp working. I purchased the new Zeppelin Air as a direct replacement, the aesthetic quality is as good as ever and the new material that covers the speakers is a step up from the lighter weight material on the original. My biggest gripe is that for reasons I can only assume are cost saving, B&W have made this a wireless only speaker, the RJ45 network adapter that the original Zeppelin had is no longer an option, so alas no direct cabled connection to the router in ... In use I've found that unless the Zeppelin Air has a direct line of sight to the wireless router, playback is sketchy with the Zeppelin Air often dropping the wireless signal and loosing the connection. Unless this speaker is located in the same room as the wireless router or you have a wireless booster/repeater next to the Zeppelin Air I wouldn't recommend this product, there's better choices out there and whisper it, they're cheaper and perform better on the same wireless network, a poor update of a classic icon, something I never thought I'd ever say about a B&W product.

I have been asked to provide an honest review of this prosuct.I was very excited about this product as I have seen it before and thought it looks great. I have also read alot about B&W as a company and the quality of there speakers. My first impression how ever of this product were not the greatest. The bad points where there was no aux port on the back also the instructions were not the greatest on set up. It was easy to get it on my WiFi network and Alexa working but didn't seem to be able to play music from my phone. What I was doing wrong was the speaker needed to be connected though Bluetooth, which I thought it was though the app but it isn't. All tipes of music from classical to modern day music sound amazing. The only other issue I have with it is the Alexa part, it struggled some times to hear or wake up on command. For that reason I preferred to contect to it though Bluetooth and use my phone as a remote.Over all the speaker cost alot but the sound is amazing. Once you get over the lack of instructions and figure it out it is a great peace of kit.

I have the old Zepplin, which is still awesome. This newer one does not disappoint in the sound quality, the only downside is there is no possibility of using any kind of cable, no phono/usb - nothing and no 'pebble' remote which would be really useful. But saying that, the Bluetooth works seamlessly, the app is easy peasy and the sound is just beautiful, full and as clear as you would expect from a B&W.Highly highly recommended! You will not be disappointed in how it sounds - whether loud/mid/quiet or how it looks. Fantastic speaker.

I have owned the B&W Zeppelin now for little over a month and I would say that I am very happy with it.Having owned the first iteration of the Zeppelin back in late 2000, and apart from the IPod dock that was situated at the front, not much has changed, which is a good thing, as I personal think it looks unique and modern and is very much a talking point when friends and family are round. Build quality is as you would expect from B&W which inspires confidence from the onset. The setup process was iffy and was not seamless as I would have hoped. First, you must download the B&W propriety application, which is fine, however when trying to connect to my network it simply couldn't. I went on to reset the speaker which didn't work and from there I went on to change my router settings which could throw some people off, but luckily having done this before, I knew what to do. Now, I would love to say that this fixed the issue, however I cannot be sure, because at first it didn't do anything, and I was close to giving up, but after the final 'reset' of the speaker, things started to connect which was a relief. The B&W application is decent and easy to navigate around. Being predominantly Apple Music person however did pose an issue though, as the system doesn't (yet) support Apple Music and the only way to play music from my apple music library was via Airplay which worked just as well which takes me to audio quality. The audio quality is fantastic and a joy to listen to. The Mids are clear with rich detail and the Highs being bright with good clarity. The low end packs a good punch, and even at loud volumes everything is tight .The sound stage is probably as wide as the actual speaker unit itself but having listen to it from all types of angles, it will without a doubt fill a largish room with ease. This thing can get loud, and I found that 50% volume was my common volume setting for most genre however, knowing I had so much more to play with set my mind at ease knowing this thing can handle it if I chose to.Value wise, its' definitely a premium product, but this speaker looks and sounds fantastic and even though the likes of Sonos will out do this on a setup standpoint, this speaker looks and sounds better and when the speaker is not in use, I would rather look at the Zeppelins curves than a rectangular box any day of the week.
We'd gone into the Bristol store with the intention of buying a Sonos speaker, but when we had a play with the demo we decided to go for this speaker instead.Pros:- Brilliant sound quality- Looks interestingCons:- We had to remove Alexa from the speaker as it didn't work as well as the echo & it was constantly announcing that "your Alexa device is ready".- We often have to restart the speaker as we're not able to connect by airplay (using iphone 12, iphone 8 & ipad) even though it's placed in a position with strong wifi connection. The connection also regularly drops out while you're listening to music.- There is no way to plug a phone / ipad etc. into the speaker so you're forced to rely on the temperamental wireless connection.I spent a lot of money on ... If B&W can get this sorted with an update it would be a 5* product.
When my Bowers & Wilkins Zeppelin Wireless Smart Wi-Fi Bluetooth Speaker arrived, I was surprised at how big and heavy the box was. I thought, omg what am I doing with such a huge speaker. However, that said, when I went to unwrap it, I was delighted at the attention paid to ensure the speaker was transported safely. Once out of the box, I felt as Christmas had come early, it looked fantastic. I loved the aesthetic design, touch and as a consequence I couldn't wait to see if it lived up to my expectations. Setting up was easy and the acoustics were out of this world. Powerful, absorbing sound - unbelievable. To summarise, as a technophobe, I definitely was inspired and delighted with my choice as it embraces wireless technology, thereby complimenting my digital inspired world.
I had such high expectations for the Zeppelin, I love other B&W products, even chose the model of car to get the B&W sound system, unfortunately though I just feel a little let down. I had a huge smile when I opened the box and the initial setup all went well until I tried to connect it to my wifi network. Initially the B&W app did not like me trying to setup the device on a specific VLAN separate to my main one for smart devices. I managed to work around this by moving my phone to the same network temporarily. Next, although they mention it may come later there was no integration with google home or my google premium subscription, only amazon music, Spotify, etc... B&W have absolutely blown me away in the sound department and once up and running I use it at every opportunity. This speaker just sounds awesome and everyone asks about it when they see it.
Having been a previous owner of the one of the original Zeppelin speakers, when this new iteration was made available, I straight away wanted one. I remember when I first unboxed the original Zeppelin and was immediately aware from the weight and the quality materials that were being used that you are dealing with a premium product, and this new iteration is no different. The initial setup of the device was challenging as I had issues straight away with it connecting to my network and no matter what I tried, from factory resets to a more ‘last resort’ router setup changes, and nothing seemed to work. However, after getting frustrated for over an hour with this, I tried one last factory reset which to my delight worked and the Zeppelin was able to connect and I ... However, after getting frustrated for over an hour with this, I tried one last factory reset which to my delight worked and the Zeppelin was able to connect and I managed to complete the setup process without any other issues. Normally I would be complaining more about these sorts of things, but having dealt with various wireless products in the past from different manufacturers, these sorts of issues are common and is something I have learnt to live with. The B&W application is decent and easy to navigate around. Being predominantly Apple Music person however did pose an issue though, as the system doesn’t (yet) support Apple Music and the only way to play music from my apple music library was via Airplay which worked just as well which takes me to audio quality. When spending around £700 on a speaker you would be expecting some quality sound, and the Zeppelin doesn’t disappoint. One of the first things I notices was just how loud the speaker can get for its size. I had it mainly on around 50% volume most of the time, and that was more than enough and can easily fill a large room. The sound stage of the speaker is probably the width of the speaker itself and would have been nice if it was wider, maybe by having the speakers set at an angle outward but it’s not a showstopper at all. When listening to different all kinds of different genre you are greeted with bright and clear sound with a tight punchy bass, but its clear from the onset that this speaker better suits genre like Pop, Dance and Classical but if you are a predominantly Rock listener, I think there are better alternatives out there. All in all, I think this speaker is awesome, from its build quality to the sound it generates. Yes its expensive, but you will be hard to find a stylish speaker that sounds this good for the same sort of price.
First a note to say I was provided this system to objectively test (and then give back). It is the first Bowers & Wilkins sound system I have tested and I'm pretty impressed. As you'd expect, the build quality is top notch. It was very quick to set up (10 minutes including it updating its software) and it's very simple to use.The sound though was something else. I had previously considered my (admittedly cheaper) Bose sounds systems to deliver great quality audio but this is quite clearly a level above. It has bags of power, certainly enough to overwhelm most rooms (I had some fun with AC DC and dared not take it to 100%!) but the clarity and balance is always there. It manages to create space between the different instruments and vocals and feels equally at home ... MoreFirst a note to say I was provided this system to objectively test (and then give back). The app allows you to adjust the treble and bass balance via an equalizer as well as smaller things like light settings..The design is really clean and together with the build quality its a lovely item to have in a room, which is good, because the size of it does mean that it is not something that hides in a corner.
This is an amazing speaker, the design is unique & a real statement piece. Straight out of the box it oozes quality as you would expect from Bowers & Wilkins. Its a big speaker so please check the dimensions for where you want to place it. The instructions provided give you a QR code for there app & also instructions on how to link to spotify. On there app you can assign it to any room in your house if you want multiple speakers & you can add all your favourite music streaming services very easily. Also this can be controlled using Alexa which no doubt most people will use. Assigning to Spotify was easy to set up as well.
