I was a bit anxious when opening the tin to find a solid lump of coconut and then a load of liquid - eeek, I thought. I hadn't expected that. I didn't realise, either, that heating will help it combine (will do that next time) so out came my ancient trusty Kenwood food mixer with liquidiser attachment. In a few seconds of blending I had lovely mixed up coconut milk for my butter chicken. I would rather have a natural product than one stuffed with emulsifiers, so thank you Biona.

Recently I started paying a lot more attention to food labels and discovered that most coconut milks contain emulsifiers and stabilisers, but not this one. Just coconut and water. Now I wouldn’t buy any other brand.

Absolutely perfect. Fantastic low fat coconut milk with no unnecessary additives. Be prepared to give it a mix (it has no nasty chemicals keeping it emulsified) and if you like a stronger taste go for the full fat version.

This is good traditional no additives coconut milk not the weird gloopy sort that other brands are getting away with at the moment. The price reflects what you get - the other brands put less coconut in and add thickeners and stabilisers. I'm struggling to find a comparable product in the shops (organic or otherwise) since Lidl stopped producing theirs.
Biona coconut milk is the only brand I buy. I use it mostly for chia pudding and it has the exact right amount of liquid to fat. Fat is good for us, especially from coconuts. The fat portion in this coconut milk is super coconutty, which I love. It can separate if the cans get cold, but just raise them to room temp, and you are good to go. Love this coconut milk!
This coconut milk separates (which is good because it means it doesn't contain emulsifiers). Before I start cooking i run a bowl of hot water for the washing up. I put the can of coconut milk in to warm up whilst I'm chopping my veg. By the time I've prepped everything the coconut milk has completely melted. Just give it a good shake before opening and you are good to go! Yes it's thin as it's a 'light' version (and no thickeners, again good) but sometimes I find I don't want a dish to be super rich and this is perfect for those occasions.
We almost died when we poured the tin into the veg it is about 80 percent water. We thought we would have to throw it away and start from zero but since we were hungry we looked it for over 20 mins to make it less watery. Thankfully we poured it over thai noodles and since the noodles have something on them .not sure the name of it. it thickened the sauce once in the bowl. If you are desperate for a low calorie curry go for it, it is eatable over noodles i doubt over rice as it looks like soup. Otherwise stick to normal but overall... not so bad if u let it thicken over noodles
I read the reviews but thought I'd give it a go anyway. I agree with all the others who have said that this really is just cloudy water with a small blob of solidified coconut oil in it. Used it in a Thai Green Curry and I might as well have just added water. If you are after a very 'light' alternative then you will like this. If you just want to cut down on the calories but keep the flavour, try a different brand.
I brought these to make a chickpea curry, with lots of green leafy vegetables and flavour with garam masala curry seasoning. It's going to be delicious!
I too was a bit unsure at buying this due to previous reviewers comments but wanted a product without added extras. I used it for my Thai chicken soup and I was disappointed as its seemed to split on cooking. However I am sure this is normal if you boil it ( and maybe I will add it slightly later next time). However, I used my stick blender and gave it a quick wizz before adding cooked chicken and noodles and the result was perfect - smooth, creamy, loved by all the family - I am converted now!
