Aveda Men Pure-Formance Liquid Pomade 200ml

I found this product at an Aveda concept salon. I was getting a haircut and noticed a boy receiving the same service, and at the end of it I saw the barber using this men's pomade afterwards. His cute side-swept bangs were put perfectly in place and it kept his Pompadour cut looking soft yet tamed. He bounced and jumped and his hair bounced with him while retaining its smoothness and texture. I gave it 4 stars because I felt the scent was overpoweringly "male"--woodsy and musky.

I absolutely love this liquid pomade from AVEDA! Because I have a long fairly curly thin hair I would never even think of using a putty type finisher but this does the work of one while being a fairly thin yet easy to deal with consistency. It really makes my ends shine which are usually dull because of my coloring. It also allows me to keep my hair straight if I straighten it without any heavy residue and I feel it gives some good control to my curls if I’m wearing it that way. it’s a men’s product but I rarely pay any attention to these gender suggestions and simply buy what works!

Do not buy !!!

The product itself is fine. Works well ! But I wish I knew it smelled like old man cologne/vicks vapor rub. The poor smell far outweighs the products efficacy if my opinion. Im sorry:(

Excellent

I love my setting products for air drying or blow styling, depending on the time of year and my mood. I hate sticky, stick holds that too many men's products do.This product is wonderful. You can add what you like--emulsify, it foams up nicely, and spread evenly. Your hair will smell beautiful. It leaves a nice shine and separates easily with a lighter hold. I use a good amount to tame my very wavy hair. I can blow dry it in and make my hair rocks star or movie star perfect.Bravo.A great product!

Great product

Love this stuff, was turned onto it by a barbershop that uses the men's line of Aveda. Love how lightweight it is, other styling products would make my hair sticky/hard. This dries out with none of that while still having great control with a great smell. My only concern is the price, but you get what you pay for. I will soon be moving to Australia where it is even more expensive. I paid quite a bit more for it than what I paid for it in the US. At least in a department store it was more expensive, I believe an Aveda shop is opening in Sydney and it might be a little cheaper there versus the department store. I'll find in a few months when I move.

Great with one flaw

I was very pleased with the way the liquid pomade helped to manage my hair. As a guy, I have always worn my hair short but decided to grow it longer in recent months. My hair is very coarse and thick. I put in some of the product and used the hair dryer to get it partially dry. It kept my hair under control without frizz, and without dulling the color or putting it into a greasy clump. The product was light enough to allow my hair even to move a little bit.However, there is one big drawback, as others have mentioned. The product has a strong, "mediciney" scent to it, in my opinion. It would be ideal for it to be unscented so that you could wear the cologne of your choice with it. It's a shame, because I had found something that worked quite well. I hope Aveda considers addressing this issue.

Interesting concept

Never tried a liquid pomade before. It gives a great matte finish and has a nice smell. I apply this onto to dry hair and there is really not hold, doesn’t do much against preventing frizzy hair. Does define my hair texture nicely though. If applied on wet hair it can give you a bit of a crunch.

Outstanding styling product 💯

I can't believe I'm just now trying the liquid pomade. I made the assumption that it would be sticky and make my hair crunchy and sticky. It does not.It's like the perfect combo of a moderate hold pomade and a soft styling creme. It leaves hair soft and natural looking, but provides substantially more humidity fighting and control than a light hold product. I live in Austin where it's insanely humid, and this stuff lasts all day. The scent is also truly amazing.Tip: apply to hair when almost dry. Apply a small amount first. Let it set a bit. And then apply a bit more.Highly recommend.

Perfect light hold

I love this product. I bought it for my boyfriend then couldn't stop stealing it. Worked into wet hair it smells gorgeous and gives a lovely light natural none greasy hold. My sister and nephew tried it too on their curly ringlet hair and it works really well. This is now my go to easy styling product

Since im pretty dispointed in this ill start with The Cons: A: The picture of the muscle guy wearing it must be the smallest buff guy ever. Like less than 5 foot tall. This is a better fit for a medium male child or small women Thanos's cosplay than a adult. B: There is a stand in the picture you dont get that nor a box to keep it in, its looks and fells like a knock off item, which it most likely is. If you care about quality this might not be right for you. C: The PVC is soft so since it got smashed during shipping its got a permanent bend in the opening. The box only needed to be larger this is a problem with not picking the right box for shipping, poor choices lead to product being hurt. Now the Pro's: A: the gems have magnets keeping them on, thats sort of cool if you wish to cosplay the gems jumping into place. B:Its a good pose if your hand fits. Final thoughts: Like I said Girl Thanos's that's who should buy it. of a young teen boys that aint to large. but it seems costly for that its not show quality like the picture looks and i would not buy this.
