I initially bought this as a special occasion foundation. It very quickly become a staple in my daily routine. Initially I wasn’t impressed with the shade range for Darker skin. I consider myself chocolate, but probably not much darker than a Kelly Rowland shade, with a warm/neutral undertone. My match turns out to be the darkest shade in this line. (I do not feel like the pictures on the website depict the true color, so please try it on in person). With that being said, if you are a deeper skinned woman, there is a good chance you will not find your shade in this line. As for the formula, I feel that it melts beautifully into my skin, but tends to look even better after it’s been on for about an hour. I love that it has SPF 30, and has a matte finish. I’m naturally oily but I find my make up looking Nice even after a 10 hour shift, when other foundations tend to get greasy or rub off by then. It does have a slight fragrance, but it is very mild and I don’t notice it after I have finished applying it to my face. Obviously the price point is not great for a daily foundation, but I would definitely buy it again.

I really enjoyed using this foundation. It provides a nice (more matte than luminous imo) finish. I have rosacea and am always skeptical of the coverage a foundation will give me/if it will cover my redness. This did, however i am only giving it 4 stars because it took some building, but definitely can achieve full coverage. I just hate having to work for it a little more when i have only a few mins to get ready for work. Is it my favorite? No. But it did look nearly flawless on my textured skin. Wear time was the most impressive. It lasted hours everytime i’ve worn this but it’s winter keep in mind. I will say, if you have dry skin you may not love this, i can see it maybe flaking a little. Overall, i had a great experience with this foundation, nothing groundbreaking or astounding about it but very good. I would repurchase if i didn’t already have my holy grails and know how much better it can get for me.

Loved the old formula (felt like it was a wonderful follow up to the ysl teint resist I used years ago that was discontinued), but couldn’t find an appropriate shade match with the old all hours foundation formula. Decided to give the new formula a go, LOVE it!!! I used the Sephora shade match and it actually picked the right shade for once (LN8)! Was worried it’s on the lighter side, but it’s blended fairly well to my neck for now and looks good in pics. I wear shade 1N in dior forever skin glow and forever for reference. I’ve missed ysl foundations so much, they really are beautiful. And the scent is nostalgic for me, obsessed with the (now) light cucumber/watermelon scent. Appreciate that it’s not as heavily fragranced as before, but still kept the same scent. It really is a beautiful luminous matte foundation, but on days I want it more matte, I mix with half a pump of dior forever. I do get oily on my t-zone, but after like 8-10 hours which I’m good with. Still looks as fresh as when I applied it by the end of a 10-12 hour wear day too. Very lightweight and pigmented, but doesn’t cover freckles well with damp sponge of course, probably need a brush for fuller coverage. I use 1.5-2 pumps. I have dry combo skin, but this doesn’t flake or dry out my skin even with a mattifying primer. Definitely repurchasing!

Sigh. It’s so hard buying foundation over the internet, but I had a previous YSL foundation that I absolutely loved. Sadly, it was discontinued and so I looked for a replacement. This is not even close to the quality of what I had before. The color I thought I needed (we need a better chart to compare to our skin tones!) was not available with Nordstrom) and the color numbers are way different than the previous product (can’t we go uniform here, so that if YSL retires one foundation, those same colors are carried over into the new product?). I had to select the one I thought would be the next closest. Nope… too light and even though I have a slight yellow tint to my skin, the yellow undertones in this are too strong.I always use a moisturizer or serum before ... MoreSigh. I had to select the one I thought would be the next closest. Nope… too light and even though I have a slight yellow tint to my skin, the yellow undertones in this are too strong.I always use a moisturizer or serum before applying foundation, and particularly important as I am older. But even with pre-treating my skin, this product is so dry that it will settle into any lines or wrinkles one had and amplify them. There is no reflective light at all. It is flat (it’s matte I know, but come on, no moisture at all?). It makes me feel heavily made up, which I hate. So I try mixing it with serum or moisturizer before applying and that helps a little. But seriously, this stuff will dry out on the back of your hand or your face before you can even use a sponge to apply it with. You can’t do a light buildup in areas under the eyes because it won’t spread. This is not a product that works for mature skin. All in all, I feel like I paid way too much for a product from a company I count on to deliver great light reflective foundation. So now I have to start all over again.
I received this product from Influenster in exchange for my honest review.I like many others got a shade too light for my skin so I unfortunately won’t be using this a lot. Definitely go a couple shades darker than you think you are if you’re blind buying. This is a medium coverage matte foundation with SPF. great for daytime use but be weary wearing this at night if you plan on taking flash photos. That flashback is serious! Not overly drying which is usually my problem with matte foundations. Wore this to a party and it lasted all night so wear time is exceptional. Cream and liquid products are a bit harder to blend in to this foundation but try incorporating a damp sponge to reactive the foundation for smoother blending.I’m surprised Influenster/ysl gave ... MoreI received this product from Influenster in exchange for my honest review.I like many others got a shade too light for my skin so I unfortunately won’t be using this a lot. It’s matte which can be drying especially on already dry skin like my own. Add cold dry air to the mix and this foundation isn’t going to make your skin happy. If you don’t have that issue, this foundation is a winner.
I have very oily skin and I tend to lose my foundation through transfer and blotting away oil from my face throughout the day. This foundation lasted very long. I had worn it on an eventful Halloween night and woke up with my base still intact and no transfer on my pillow. I’ve worn it on Thanksgiving and it didn’t transfer on anyone’s shirts that I had given a hug. I do suggest trying to pick your correct shade because this was very difficult to blend in. I definitely plan to experiment with other primers besides the high grip one I used. I used a brush and tried a sponge. I preferred using a brush to blend though. If you are into dermaplaning your face to remove fine hairs then I suggest that. My foundation seemed to be stickier in those fuzzier spots. If you are into dermaplaning your face to remove fine hairs then I suggest that. My foundation seemed to be stickier in those fuzzier spots. Despite the difficulty in blending this darker shade, I used it to reverse contour and used concealer to brighten the center of my face and it turned out fine. I was satisfied with the matte finish but even with the light application that I used. I still felt it gave a cakey and full appearance. I think your choice in primer and the state of your face makes a difference for smooth and even application.
I've been using the YSL All Hours foundation for almost two months and it's becoming my new favorite. It's full coverage that's buildable but still looks like skin and doesn't feel cakey. I even forgot to set it one day and was out in the Southern California sun and it still looked beautiful and barely had any oil breaking through. I wouldn't say it's transfer-proof, more transfer-resistant. I haven't tested 24-hour wear but it is long-lasting. However, as much as I love this foundation, I have an issue with there only being 12 shades that work for darker skin tones compared to 20+ more fair skin tones. Being a $60 foundation, which I believe is worth the price, not everybody can buy two shades to get the right one. I spent a decent amount of time on youtube searching for similar skin-toned people to get the right shade and managed to get close but I'm really more in between two shades. This is my first higher-end foundation and I'm impressed overall. I would probably give it closer to 4.5 stars.
I used to have the old version of this foundation and I loved it! I wanted to buy it again and found out it didn't exist anymore and was replaced with this. I looked up the shade conversation chart and bought this one during the spring sale. The consistency is pretty much the same but it's so different and not in a good way! I'm so incredibly disappointed! This version settles into every tiny pore and crevice on my skin and it's not long lasting at all. The max it's stayed on my face is 5hrs. I've tried it without primer, and with all sorts of primers. No matter what it looks terrible and just doesn't last. I'm so sad!!! I keep trying to make it work but I'm not sure I'll be able to. I'm convinced that when they "change the formula" it just means they're using cheaper ingredients to make more profit. I've tried so many methods to make this foundation look OK on my skin, at this point I'm sure it's just a terrible formula and I don't recommend at all.

Please note that this foundation oxidizes. Before describing how my skin looked after using the foundation, I want to say that I have atopic dermatitis (eczema), an oily T-zone and cheeks, as well as sensitive skin. When I applied the foundation without any primer, I was pleasantly surprised to find that the foundation did not irritate my skin. The foundation is lightly fragranced. The fragrance is light and fresh and not bothersome at all. I also tried the foundation with gripping primers and hydrating primers. I found that the gripping primer and foundation combo did not work for me. However, the hydrating primer and foundation combo is FABULOUS. My skin felt and looked amazing with the hydrating primer and foundation combo. The foundation is a luminous foundation and dries down to a natural matte (satin) finish. I love that for a luminous foundation it was not dewy. Especially since I have oily skin. The oil absorbing pigments in the foundation really do work. So, if you have oily skin this foundation is for you. With that being said I also have enlarged pores on my cheeks and this foundation did not emphasize my pores or texture. This foundation unfortunately did not last all day for me. The foundation does slip, slide, melt, and transfer with humidity, sweat, or when the
