We bought this mattress for a 3 week road trip in 2008. We found it easy to use and super comfy. It was used so much, at one point we slept on it for a couple of months solid, in between houses. It was used by guests who stayed over, on more camping trips than I can remember and even had a few holes from our mastiff loving it a little too much. Even with all the repairs and love it had seen, it was still as good as new. Then the 2019/2020 bushfires happened and as people were set up in emergency accommodation, there was a lack of beds so we offered the use of our trusty mattress. Absolutely love this mattress. Bought last minute for a weekend away and it well exceeded expectations. I had the best sleep I’ve had in 6months. As frequent travelers it’s important to get a good nights sleep and this mattress is fast setup and pack down without compromising on comfort. Very durable materials and well worth the purchase. I would recommend this product to everyone. Especially those with back issues like myself.

Indepth review:Before this purchase I read up on a huge number of camping mattresses after being so done with traditional inflatable airbeds - no matter how much I've spent on them over the years - from the most expensive to most budget - they always end up deflating before morning; and waking up even slightly lopsided does not = comfortable for me.This self-inflating foam core mattress was on sale and I was impressed with the reviews so I gave it a go on my recent 5 day camping trip. Best decision! He's getting the bigger one for himself though.I would also suggest to prospective buyers to purchase the largest one - Queen size - if you plan on having 2 adults sleeping on this and like a bit of space around you to stretch out.I would also recommend a practise run with inflating and rolling up the mattress before you go camping - you can figure out your best technique with rolling it back up. Doing it on my own was hard work at first (especially having a not-very-wide arm span!)But i quickly worked out a good technique - placing my knees on it with each roll, and as i knelt on it, pushing firmly and quickly along the part of the mattress that's straight in front of the rolled up part - this made it so much easier to roll!The storage cover bag is so roomy, I was easily able to get it back in the bag on my own, and could also store sheets in it alongside the mattress.Definitely give it a go - extra good value when on sale - but I'd buy it at full price anyway for the comfortable sleep I had!

Opened mat when first purchased and left open (with all vents open) for 3 weeks on a flat surface. Specs say 12cm thick foam but actually ends up less than 10cm thick. Sections of the mat remains crushed from how it arrives from shop. Had been rolled and packaged really tight. Have returned one to a different store in hope their supply was different. Foam issue remains the same. Can't fault BCF staff when I returned the product.
The self inflation is a great alternative to a blow up bed but I think we needed a thicker mattress for two people and sometimes a dog. Both side sleepers, trip was for three weeks camping at several locations so needed to pack up and set up frequently. The waterproof material on the base was very good and durable fabric. Think we will have to bring the mattress topper next trip.
I bought this a month ago and my partner & I were finally able to use it for the first time over on our New Year's camping trip. Super light and easy to set up - just left the valves open until I remembered to close them (about 2-3 hours) and it was ready to go. Before dinner each night, I'd open it up to let in some more air in case it deflated a bit the night before and it was puffed up in a matter of minutes.Packing it away was a bit tricky at first, but we got it rolled up nice and tight after reading some helpful comments on YouTube. The double was more than enough room for myself and my 6'3" partner who said he does not regret the purchase and experienced the best sleep he's had on camping trips. Can't wait to use it more in the future!
I bought this double mattress online and collected it at BCF. Unfortunately, I didn’t realise how big it was going to rollup as. I only rolled it out to see was it was like and then tried rolling it back up again which I couldn’t do on my own. Had to wait for a friend to come around to help. You definitely need 2 people which is no good to me. I tried to return it but was not allowed to. Was an expensive mistake to make.
This mattress is unbelievably comfortable when placed on top of the thin, foam mattress that came with my camper trailer. I have arthritis which gives me discomfort when I sleep. I'm just back from my first trip using my camper trailer in SA for two weeks and had little to no pain. My one big, annoying challenge that I am happy to work on is deflating the mattress. I cannot leave it on my bed in my camper trailer because it is too thick for me to close the top down. Squeezing the air out is a big job for me. The last time I folded it over and squeezed enough air out to slide it under my bed, where my annexe and poles are usually kept. If anyone a little short on muscle power has overcome this problem I'd be happy to read their solution.

This mattress comprises of what appears to be good quality materials. 4 screw in plugs for air transfer is huge. When new open straight away and leave open for few days to fully inflate. Subsequent inflation faster. Comfy to sleep on especially my double. Still has to pass test of time but I have high hopes for this bargain. Go for it.
