The Victron Orion-Tr Smart 12/24-10A is an isolated DC-DC charger with built-in Bluetooth, made for dual-battery systems in vehicles and boats where a smart alternator and starter battery charge a service battery. It is a professional adaptive three-stage charger rated at 10 A, converting 12 V to 24 V, and is suitable for both lead-acid and lithium batteries. Controlled charging is important with smart alternators or where long cable runs cause voltage drop, and it also protects the alternator in lithium systems, where direct charging can overload it because of the battery's low impedance. Built-in engine running detection means the charger only operates when the engine is running, which prevents the vehicle's onboard voltage from dropping too low, without needing to tap into the vehicle's wiring or CAN bus; it can also be forced to charge through a remote on/off switch or ignition connection. In fixed-output mode it works as a stable power supply independent of load or input variation. The unit is fully programmable through the VictronConnect app over Bluetooth, is rated to IP43, and suits high temperatures up to 55 degrees C with full rated output to 40 degrees C. Multiple units can be connected in parallel to increase output.
