Been riding for 30 years, never felt better about a helmet. I ride a touring motorcycle and a cruiser and its perfect for both. The video covers the features pretty well but there is one feature I use constantly that goes unmentioned. The visor has three positions, not two. All the way up, all the way down and then there is a mostly down position that allows more airflow. I only ride with the visor all the way down when the wind is crazy or the temps dip below 40F. Going 55 mph or less, I usually have the visor all the way up with the sun shield down. All other times in between, the visor is in this third position. Also, this is the first helmet I've had with the ratchet strap and I will never go back. This is the best quality helmet for those of you who feel a little claustrophobic in a full face helmet and/or living/riding in hot climate areas like I do in SoCal....My 6 yr old J Cruise was still good but there was a few slight issues that bothered me a little. First, the air circulation wasn't that great from the vents and also for my head shape I've had a pressure on my ears and forehead. Shoei has a small visor for this helmet that goes on top of the visor and it becomes really great protective visor (beak) when you are riding towards the sun early or late in the day and keeps your vision clear.All in all the even the differences between JC-I and JC-II seems minimal it makes a difference like day and night between these two models.I am on a GS Adventure for long distance touring and often ride 6 to 12 hrs a day between temp like 65F and 100F and this is a very comfortable, high quality, efficient touring helmet. Too bad that pillock visor is not included with the helmet but I still highly recommend it!

I work bicycle races on my motorcycle. I've been using a Neotec 2 which I love - but at the same time, riding with it open puts the chin bar in the wind and is heavy. I decide to try the J-Cruise 2 and really like it. It's lighter, you don't have the bulk high up in the air and SUPER COMFORTABLE! I have ridden it to/from work and up to about 85 mph. It's maybe a little noisier than my Neotec 2, but wearing headphone/earplugs - it isn't bad. I prefer more helmet for highway/aggressive riding - but this is a great helmet!I will add - it fogs more than I expected. I am 100% glad I added the Pin-Lock insert.

I'm going to experiment with it to see if I can open one or two of the vents or partially open them and not have this wind problem. Also, since both of my bikes are touring bikes, my thought was to take the front shield off, but I'm becoming a big fan of it. It was a 60 degree kind of windy day and I love the fact that I didn't have to deal with chilly cross-winds. Also, when the shield is all the way up, I didn't feel any wind resistance at all so the shield is going to stay on. Love the drop down sunglasses and I know they made them longer than on the original Cruise, but i wish they were still longer. When I look at my instruments, my eye line is right at the bottom line of the glasses which is annoying and something I will try to get used to. That's my review and congratulations if you made it all the way through.

Saw the J-cruz and thought about it for a good while as its not cheap, but I thought it might offer better protection and I might range a little farther with it so I jumped. Glad I did. It is as comfortable as the RF-SR (which is really comfy) and it's feature rich. I dig everything about this helmet. Fairly quiet, well vented with a good bit of adjustability and if you're worried about a lack of D-rings to be able to lock your helmet, don't. It has one. The interior sun visor is deluxe. The J-Cruise II helmet is lightweight, very well built inside and outside. Straight out of the box fit feels like it was custom made for me not even having to adjust the chin strap. Extremely happy with the J-Cruise II's visibility and ease to unlocking and locking the main visor even when on the move wearing thick gloves. Same ease when sliding the internal sun visor. I will be transferring the SENA Bluetooth audio system I had installed in my SHOEI full face modular Neotech II to the J-Cruise II soon since it is built to accept the same Bluetooth comms. For cold weather riding I use the full face modular Neotec II and during warmer weather I use the J-Cruise II. Most definitely both helmets meet my expectations in quality, fit, and functionality.
Ok this is a nicely built helmet, but to me shoei helmets are just not for big headed folks? I have tried on several occasions, with no success! They seem very short from top to bottom? I needed to max out the chin strap just to get it closed? If you're a large headed peep? I would suggest looking into Sedici or Arai. Not knocking their quality or cost, but their sizing is small to me. Yes this was a living room only helmet review. Arai for the large noggins!!
Definitely one of the most comfortable helmets I own. Shoei's fit is predictable, which I appreciate as I currently own the same size RF-1200.I purchased this with the Sena SRS Mesh system and the integration is seamless. I have the Sena S50 on my RF-1200, and love the way the newer style helmets allow for this integration.Definitely recommend the J-Cruise2 for those wanting great protection with a modern, cool look.
By far the most comfortable helmet I've ever had. The vents on top move some air and the chin strap has plenty of adjustment. With the visor all the way up, the helmet is surprisingly quite. However. with the visor at the first stop, or all the way down, it becomes the loudest wind noise producing helmet on the planet, it gives my Cardo system a run for it's money on the highway. I'm shocked that at this price point such a poor visor design made it into production. Overall after 1000 miles I do like the helmet, and with some work on the lower portion of the visor it should last for years.
This is a very nice helmet. It is comfortable and fits true to size with a long oval shape. The shield provides excellent visibility. The reasons for not giving 5 stars…firstly- to me, it's both too quiet (it fits tightly and seals out everything. So hearing my radio requires me to really turn up the volume) and to loud (when riding, lots of wind noise). Secondly - I purchased this helmet to replace my Arai Ram-X. Though more expensive, I do prefer the Arai to this model Shoei. The Arai is a bit more comfortable, maybe a little lighter, and has less wind noise at speed.
