Amazingly design laptop, even while being thin and light (won't even feel it in your bag) definitely has a really strong build quality, the hinge feel smooth to open and close, seem like its built to last. The color has been dubbed sapphire blue, which I guess has a slight hue but has nice sliver-ish finish that very appealing. The keyboard travel feels great, the big trackpad is great but I might suggest moving down the mouse speed. On this 16" model having a full size HDMI port is good, as ports are seemly disappearing now, also the two thunderbolt ports and regular USB port and headphone/mic jack gives the laptop multiple options for connections. The start up is real quick and the fingerprint reading power button makes access swift. The sound is great, could maybe tab bit louder but definitely doesn't disappoint.Standard camera but clear enough for whatever you need it for. The mic is clear and picks up voice even while not being close to the laptop. If AI is your thing or something your looking into the copilot onboard has you covered, the AI also plays into the camera if you want to get all kinds of effects in there.Performance wise, works amazingly with multiple apps working on screen all at the same time, handle with ease.If gaming is thing, this laptop works well with it tested out Dragonball kakarot, plays smooth saw no dropped framerate even at high settings. More demanding games might be different but for some standard/casual gaming runs great. 512 storage can fill up but the micro SD card slot let you add some extra storage.Definitely a great option for anyone looking for something new.

The first thing that you’re likely to notice about the Samsung Galaxy Book 4 Edge is that this is a beautiful laptop, with a design that tapers from thin to thinner. Samsung calls the aluminum color Sapphire Blue, although it looks more like dark silver with a touch of blue. There is an understated Samsung logo on the lid, otherwise the appearance is of a large, simple piece of metal. The second thing that you’re likely to notice is that the Galaxy Book is remarkably light. At under 3.5 pounds, it rivals my 15” MacBook Air. This Galaxy Book makes an excellent travel companion.Structurally, the entire laptop feels solid. The hinge works smoothly, with no signs of stress from the large lid. The unit does not flex at all, even when held by a corner, no easy task for an ultra-thin laptop supporting a 16” AMOLED screen. The finish seems excellent, without the tendency to scratch that plagues the MacBook Air.The tapered design has a clear advantage over ultra-thin all around when it comes to ports. With two USB-C Thunderbolt 4, one USB-A, HDMI, a micro-SD slot, and headphone jack, you may be able to leave your USB-C hub at home on your next trip. With a lot of space to work with on the base, the Galaxy Book sports a large keyboard and a full number pad. I use the number pad frequently, so this is a welcome addition to the standard laptop keyboard. However, it comes with a tradeoff. The number pad pushes the rest of keyboard to the left. Samsung has also decided to keep the keyboard at the back of the base. While this allows for a large trackpad, on a machine this large it’s a bit of a reach. I think the keyboard placement is something that one will get used to over time, but in my first few days with it, I have to say it still feels unnatural to reach that far up and to the left. The keys themselves are responsive if a little mushy; the feel could be a bit better. The trackpad has great touch response. This unit sports the highest-end of the ARM Snapdragon Elite X chip with 12 cores and Dual Core boost up to 4.2GHz. It’s fast on daily tasks, but on more the most demanding workloads you may find yourself wishing you had twice the memory. For some reason, the Galaxy Book tops out at 16GB of memory, which feels like an odd pairing with such a high-end chipset. A laptop with this much power can run hot, but on daily tasks you aren’t likely to notice the heat or the sound of the cooling fans. The 16” OLED screen is simply gorgeous. At 2880x1800 resolution, the colors are vibrant, the blacks are deep, and the entire screen is bright. It’s also a touchscreen, although given how exceptional the screen looks, I’ve been reluctant to put fingerprints on it.Battery life is excellent. I’ve been able to run it for an entire work day on battery while doing typical work-related things (for me, at least): emails, video conferences, and Microsoft Office tasks. The video playback is extremely efficient; I was able to stream a video on repeat for nearly 20 hours before the machine gave up. What’s really remarkable about this is OLED screens are notoriously power hungry. The Galaxy Book Edge series marks Samsung’s entry into Copilot+ laptops, and the Snapdragon chipset is specifically optimized for running Copilot tasks. Copilot+ laptops have an extra key with a twisted ribbon logo, signifying that you’re accessing Microsoft’s AI assistant. Powered by OpenAI’s GPT-4, Copilot uses DALL-E3 to generate images. While you can access Microsoft Copilot on the Web or through an app, Copilot+ PCs come with Cocreator and Windows Studio Effects, features which are not available on the web or app versions. The features I found most useful with Copilot are its ability to answer questions, generate text (or images) in a specific style, and summarize text. When Copilot answers, it provides sources so you can fact check, a feature not commonly found in AI assistants. While text generation was generally quite good (although as someone who write a lot, I still had to tweak it), Cocreator allows you to create images in Microsoft Paint using the DALL-E3 image generator. As I’ve found with DALL-E images in the past, Cocreator is hit-or-miss. Sometimes you get what you asked for, frequently you get unintended comic relief.Live Captions is nice if you need accessibility assistance or would simply prefer to read rather than hear the text (something I frequently do). While not 100% accurate, it’s close enough to get the idea.As someone who is on a lot of video calls, I found Windows Studio Effects extremely useful. It allows you automatically frame and light your image, and it really does make a significant difference. Studio Effects also maintains eye contact with the camera, something that’s not possible naturally if you’re watching others on your screen.Overall, this is a great laptop with a couple of design question marks. Sleek, thin, and lightweight, with a beautiful screen, excellent battery life, and Microsoft Copilot+ at the touch of a button, it’s a win for Samsung.

Getting back to our business, after my initial approach, installation and setting productivity apps, definitely it upper the bar and expectations for everything. The Snapdragon X Elite platform is a beast. Now the limitation is with windows. I have all my ecosystem based on Samsung, that's why I bought Samsung Snapdragon laptop instead other good brands. My S24 Ultra has a really useful AI apps to transcribe, translate and summarize all things locally. With all NPU power on Snapdragon, I don't see right now too much apps taking real benefit from NPUs except Capcut, DaVinci and other apps with AI features. After see the Apple intelligence proposal, we need the same commitment from Microsoft and I don't think that MS have intention to protect the user, we need a new TRON. I was using Office 2021 one time purchase. It cannot work on ARM so MS forced me to acquire a new MS 365 that share everything with MS servers. All is stored there.PERFORMANCE/BATTERYBy the way, installing, researching, listening music, and watching youtube videos, I have 40% battery after 9 hrs. I charged it in full once I received, I applied all firmware and windows updates. Did a geekbench testing at full potential, 2790 SC/ 14580 MC. I changed battery to quiet mode on Samsung performance setting after it, then I enabled battery protection (caps 80% battery charging to protect it instead constant 100% that overstress any battery). set everything on dark mode to avoid unnecessary OLED screen consumption. So I'm expecting at least 17 hrs of battery after all apps installation, initial setup and owning my system, summing up the current elapsed time and expected remaining time. So far, so good!Update: Yesterday the full battery use gave me 16 hrs but seen a lot of videos from youtube and my phD. Running office and ChatGPT, Oh and I edited several videos FHD for 15 mins, converted it from 3K to 1080, 30 mins length in just 4 mins changing all system into performance mode, reencoding it, all of them using Samsung Studio video editor included. I'm surprised and happy with my SB4Edge

I also appreciate the inclusion of a number pad, which is a handy feature for productivity.Performance-wise, the Galaxy Book4 Edge doesn’t disappoint. Powered by the Snapdragon X Elite, this ARM-based laptop handles multitasking with ease. Whether I'm running multiple apps, video conferencing, or doing some light gaming, it performs smoothly without any hiccups. The battery life is impressive too, lasting me through a full day of work without needing to recharge. The speakers are loud but lack low end, and since they are downward-firing, the overall quality depends on the surface it's resting on. This also causes the sound to seem to come from below the screen rather than from it, which takes a bit of getting used to.This is also one of the first laptops to support Copilot+. The live captions function can be useful for on the fly translations, but that's really a feature I use my phone for most often as it's more likely to be with me at all times. The Restyle Image and Cocreator aspects are a bit more unique to Copilot and are great fun to use, but, if I'm honest, like most of these new 'AI' features on every product coming out these days, real-world usage is limited and they are more of a fun gimmick.Overall, the Samsung Galaxy Book4 Edge is a top-notch laptop that combines style, power, and convenience. It’s perfect for anyone looking for a reliable and versatile device. Highly recommended!

I feel like we have been here before to some extent. A little over a decade ago, we got a new ARM based version of Windows that launched to much fanfare. Some of the same things were said then that are being said now, compatible with most things, great battery life, still super quick, and more. That last iteration was totally obsolete and junk within 2 years. So admittedly I have some real trepidation about this next generation of Microsoft’s attempt at a very mobile focused device using a different processing architecture aimed at many of those same ideas as before. This time is a bit different in that there are partners like Samsung for the hardware, and of course the big fanfare is for the Copilot AI that for reasons I don’t understand will only work on the ... MoreI feel like we have been here before to some extent. That last iteration was totally obsolete and junk within 2 years. So admittedly I have some real trepidation about this next generation of Microsoft’s attempt at a very mobile focused device using a different processing architecture aimed at many of those same ideas as before. This time is a bit different in that there are partners like Samsung for the hardware, and of course the big fanfare is for the Copilot AI that for reasons I don’t understand will only work on the Snapdragon Elite X and not other processors that are in fact more powerful from a compute standpoint.I have been using this new Samsung Galaxy Book 4 Edge as my daily driver for a few days leading up to putting my thoughts down about it, and it is a beautiful machine. I love the slight blue to the finish, the metal chassis, the full keyboard and oversized multi-touch touchpad, and the gorgeous 16” AMOLED touchscreen. The 3K screen is extremely vibrant, accurate, and smooth with 120hz VRR and HDR support, it is truly fantastic. As a hardware package goes, it is exceptional except for one thing I am baffled by. On my older laptops I have become accustomed to using Windows Hello, which this computer also supports. However, I primarily prefer the facial recognition which this computer does not offer. It does have a very good fingerprint scanner in the power button to the top right corner of the keyboard, but the built in front facing camera is seemingly not good enough which I am unhappy and surprised about. The fingerprint scanner will suffice, and it reads my finger almost instantaneously but its just not what I was anticipating. Battery life is very good considering the size and lightweight form factor, keeping in mind that it will of course vary depending on what is being done. So far, for my mixed usage I have gotten what I would easily call a full day on a single charge. It does complain about being plugged in too long if you leave it on the charger for more than 24 hours and recommended I change the charge limit but then did not elaborate on where I should do that, so I was left on my own to figure it out.I am new to the AI revolution, as prior to having this computer I did not see a reason to mess with it. So, I spent some time interacting with Copilot, and am intrigued by it. It feels a little bizarre to interact with a computer in such a personable way, but you start getting used to it and I have found the ability to get information complete with sources and context enlightening. As you ask for things you don’t have to specify in follow up questions that you are still talking about the same subject for example, it figures that part out like a person would. It is fascinating. I would say that my interactions so far have changed my mind a lot about the idea, even though I still have reservations and will likely be careful what subjects I attempt to breach with it. Using Cocreator is interesting, and maybe I am bad at it or maybe Copilot is, but I could never get very close to what I wanted as I was trying to get artwork generated from it. Maybe I need more practice. Live Captions gives you real-time translations of things on the web, be it in text or video form, and provides you with a sort of subtitle for what is being said. I haven’t used it a lot yet, but I can see how it could be advantageous. Studio Effects are the thing I see the least use for as it is basically the same as what is already offered on my phone but without the convenience of being on my phone. It will take much more time for me to get accustomed to the idea of having a different type of resource available for getting work, research, and other things done, but I can see how some of these things could be part of the future. This laptop has a clear use-case in mind, for productivity on the go. If you are a gamer, look elsewhere as this is not the one. But for a creator, mobile worker, or designer, the long battery life, super thin and lightweight size, large, beautiful screen, and Copilot all make this a compelling option. I only hope that this time things are different, and this type of device is the future and not a speed bump along the way.

The Samsung Galaxy Book 4, powered by the Snapdragon X Elite processor, is an impressive choice for casual users. As my first experience with a Snapdragon processor on a laptop, I’ve been thoroughly impressed by its performance. Here are some of my observations:1. Efficient Processor: Qualcomm’s Snapdragon takes a fresh approach to processors. The X Elite variant operates at an incredibly efficient wattage, reducing overall heat and contributing to an impressively long battery life.2. Integrated GPU: The Galaxy Book 4 features an integrated GPU, which I normally stray away from, but this particular GPU seems more than capable of handling some demanding tasks. Integrated GPU: The Galaxy Book 4 features an integrated GPU, which I normally stray away from, but this particular GPU seems more than capable of handling some demanding tasks. The display is crisp and beautiful. The Snapdragon’s focus with their integrated GPU is on AI capabilities, specifically around CoPilot and Cocreator.3. Seamless AI: Despite sharing resources with the GPU, the efficient processor handles basic AI tasks seamlessly. CoPilot, in particular, has been invaluable for assisting with code writing and providing solutions. I’m surprised as how efficient this computer operates AI simply on the Snapdragon processor.4. Dedicated CoPilot Button: The convenience of a dedicated CoPilot button adds to the overall user experience.5. Unparalleled Battery Life: The computer itself is a treat to use. I switched to Samsung as my main laptop last year after receiving a Galaxy Book 360, and I don’t see myself leaving the brand any time soon. The battery life on these computers is unparalleled to similar business designed laptops. I frequently sit in all day board meetings, and everyone is shuffling chargers around, leaning against the wall by the nearest socket, and tripping over cords. I’ve become the envy of everyone at these meetings, because most time I don’t even bring my charger. I can get a consistent 6 hours of usage out of this laptop in a meeting, which is incredible.6. Touchpad: The touchpad on this computer is enormous, and I absolutely love it. It takes up a large portion of the space under the keyboard, and it’s so smooth and responsive. I also love the 10-key on the keyboard, a must have for my job.7. Consider Your Goals: When choosing a laptop, consider your priorities. If gaming is your focus, opt for a model with a dedicated GPU. However, if you seek a solid laptop with exceptional battery life—one that seamlessly runs productivity tools like Excel and Word alongside efficient AI capabilities—the Galaxy Book 4 is an excellent choice.

Samsung really have something amazing on their hands with the Galaxy Book4Edge Copilot+ PC. Lets jump right into it. From you moment you unbox the Galaxy Book4 you are met with a sleek, very thin, ultra lightweight, absolute beauty of a laptop. The Sapphire Blue almost looks silver, but when you catch the right angle you get a beautiful very sticking blue hue on it. It comes with everything you need including a charger with a brick, that uses the standard USB-C charger that is dominating the market. After letting the Book4 charge up, and power it on you are met with a beautiful, crisp, 16” AMOLED touchscreen display that is absolutely breathtaking. It comes with everything you need including a charger with a brick, that uses the standard USB-C charger that is dominating the market. After letting the Book4 charge up, and power it on you are met with a beautiful, crisp, 16” AMOLED touchscreen display that is absolutely breathtaking. The screen quality is what you would expect from Samsung, and all you would hope for in a next generation laptop. Setup is easy, and if you have another window device you can instantly setup your laptop with files and data from other window desktops/laptops that have been backed up recently. Also, having a Samsung phone makes having this Book4 a bigger, smarter, assistant in your life. You are able to talk to your laptop using Galaxy AI, to make calls, send texts, create calendars or reminders, that will be sent to your phone. This is so advanced, and it makes you feel very organized, productive, and innovative is the only word to describe it.Having Copilot+ PC by your side allows you to hardly need to type, or search your laptop to find the things you need like files, photos, that presentation you forgot the name of. Just using your voice to speak you can have that all right in front of you in the blink of an eye. The new AI era is upon us, and Samsung took a giant leap forward. Live captions is also an amazing feature that provides live translations from meetings, or content seamlessly, and accurately. You can also use it to create art, by just describing what you’d like to draw, or what’s on your mind and the AI will create it for you.The camera is very high resolution and quality, and makes Zoom calls a breeze. There are options to improve how you look, and interact in meetings so that it always appears that you’re looking into the camera I’m even if you’re looking at your notes on another tab. Which brings me to multitasking on the Book4. The Snapdragon X Elite Processor is a beast, truly. As a gamer, I have downloaded and played a couple of matches and it really held up without slowing down, and it rivals gaming PCs, although it’s not intended to. The sound quality needs improvement, but it’s not enough to take away from everything it does well. The trackpad is very responsive, but very big which takes some getting used to. The keys are very responsive, smooth, and the keyboard has a nice feel to it on its own. The battery life wasn’t 22 hours as advertised, but with the screen quality, processor, and features it’s still very impressive and once again isn’t worth taking away a single star for.Overall the Samsung Galaxy Book4Edge Copilot+ PC has opened the door to the future, and stepped in confidently while positioning itself ahead of a lot of its class. You won’t regret it.

[Rewarded Review] Nice package, limited to ARM or emulated software

The Samsung Co-Pilot+PC is snappy and a true business machine for everyday use or photo/video editing while have maintaining a light weight. Samsung seems to continue to lead the way with ultra slim portable machines. I cannot call this a PC, as it’s using a SnapDragon ARM based processor, over standard PC processors (Intel/AMD). The aluminum chassis look and design is sleek and smooth. From the slight drop look on the side chassis view as you glide your hands along the edges. It benches really well in comparison to one of my newer model thin and portable PCs. It literally just works, when you close the lid it sleeps instantly, open the lid and it powers straight away without delays where you feel it with other similar models. It literally just works, when you close the lid it sleeps instantly, open the lid and it powers straight away without delays where you feel it with other similar models. ARM based software’s are still finding their way onto the shelves. For those non-native apps, there is an emulator Microsoft provides; MS Prism option to allow you to run those apps. This program works very similarly to “Wine” found on the Linux OS to enable users to run certain WinOS only software on a Linux machine. MS Co-Pilot is exactly as it sounds, designed to run alongside the WinOS and provide immediate on-the-fly support to the user from instant language translation to the use of co-creator to where it’s uses AI features to aide you in your creation. Then through the use of Windows Studio Effects, it takes advantage of various visual effects to transform your designs in various ways. You can also link your mobile phone to the system and easily work from your phone directly via on screen connection or move information between the device and mobile easily. In my case, linked with a Samsung S23 Ultra. Battery life overall seems to be fairly efficient will last almost an entire day; pending primary machine use. Overall, the sound and screen visuals are very and well colored, the sound is good as it the machine uses a side-fire design for the sound to play through. This is not a true gaming PC, but it will play some native ARM based games favorably. Just do not expect newer games to run smoothly or at all. Again, to note, this is great for everyday use and photo/video editing.

[Rewarded Review] Practical, feels good, recommended

After trying the Asus ProArt PZ13 and the Lenovo Slim 7X, this Book Edge 4 impressed me the most, sharper display, reflection reduction, and a bit more color accuracy although not at Apple MacBook level.Ink deep blacks, punch colors, but too bias towards yellows and reds and no way to fix it.Samsung does offer and extra blue vs red color tone control, but that hardly does anything, I just keep it in the middle otherwise it affects the image in a weird way.The antireflection coating works, but it makes the overall image looks a bit dull, not the usual Samsung punchy colors that we love. Looking at it right now as I type, everything looks sharp, the white space looks clean, no patterns, but it doesn't give me that feel from the display from the Acer Slim 14 ... MoreAfter trying the Asus ProArt PZ13 and the Lenovo Slim 7X, this Book Edge 4 impressed me the most, sharper display, reflection reduction, and a bit more color accuracy although not at Apple MacBook level.Ink deep blacks, punch colors, but too bias towards yellows and reds and no way to fix it.Samsung does offer and extra blue vs red color tone control, but that hardly does anything, I just keep it in the middle otherwise it affects the image in a weird way.The antireflection coating works, but it makes the overall image looks a bit dull, not the usual Samsung punchy colors that we love. Looking at it right now as I type, everything looks sharp, the white space looks clean, no patterns, but it doesn't give me that feel from the display from the Acer Slim 14 chromebook, that display although not OLED, the image quality looked premium, this one is OLED, but that antireflective coating does something that takes away from the image quality. The keyboard is awesome, I am using it to type this review and I love the feel of typing on this keyboard. The key lights are not so intrusive but they still bleed from underneath the keys, Apple does it better. The trackpad is big and it works find, but not Apple standard either, it doesn't feel premium and it takes a lot to make a click, I much prefer the feel of the trackpad on the ACER Spin 14 chromebook, glass and haptic feedback for the clicks.Samsung just created a minivan with this laptop, utilitarian, practical, it works, but it is not sexy. The Snapdragon processor is snappy, and battery life is better than Intel, but not super impressive as people claim it to be.I love that out of everything I have tried so far, this is the slimmest laptop, portable, and feels good to carry around, I Just wish they would have used a darker charcoal color, I don't like this plastic silver color, it feels fake and cheap, not an eye candy. The speakers work, but nothing special, definitely not Apple caliber. The sound through headphones is good, and the Atmos sound effect wakes up the sound, but again, nothing special, no separation of sounds, everything sounds muted together.I hope all that helps you get a feel for this device and helps you decided. Out of all the snapdragon PC with OLED display right now, this one is the best to me.

[Rewarded Review] The future that should have been present already

This is my second Snapdragon X Elite laptop and second I am forced to return, but not because I have compatibility issues with the non native arm software. Both laptops were open box but I doubt new condition would be any different, and some issues may be specific to this very unit, some will probably be fixed in the future updates.Hardware related - the only CTRL key (since copilot button replaced the right ctrl key, and why ctrl, why not alt who uses both alt keys, or give the remap option as a choice), so the only CTRL key has a different and very loose feeling and irritating sound when pressed; left Shift key has a similar loose feeling, Backpace to some extent, so all wider keys except space bar, while all normal keys are very firm and pleasant to type on ... MoreThis is my second Snapdragon X Elite laptop and second I am forced to return, but not because I have compatibility issues with the non native arm software. Both laptops were open box but I doubt new condition would be any different, and some issues may be specific to this very unit, some will probably be fixed in the future updates.Hardware related - the only CTRL key (since copilot button replaced the right ctrl key, and why ctrl, why not alt who uses both alt keys, or give the remap option as a choice), so the only CTRL key has a different and very loose feeling and irritating sound when pressed; left Shift key has a similar loose feeling, Backpace to some extent, so all wider keys except space bar, while all normal keys are very firm and pleasant to type on given the very thin laptop profile. From my experience in the past this key will eventually fall off so I do not want to deal with the warranty replacement and am force to return it to BB while I can. Since laptop is practically silent this is even more noticeable. As far as I know I am not OCD or this issues triggered it.All four "feet" that laptop sits on are also quite loose, but not noticeable or intruding as CTRL key.Power profiles are inconsistent - Samsung High Performance profile is different from the Windows Best Performance. Only with the Samsung High Performance profile you can get close to 4GHz on one core, or higher than 2GHz on all cores for a longer period of time, with fans spinning higher (still way quieter than any x86 laptop)Geekbench gives great results, however Cinebech 2024 arm version gives very low score compared to other laptops with the same Snapdragon version.AI performance is also very inconsistent, and that is why I mostly bought this laptop to try on. I am talking local large language model consumption that can be very well executed with more than 10 tokens/s rate, while AMD or Intel (previous gen models but still marked Copilot AI) gets 3 token/s at the same tasks. But then, it would go down to 3-4 tokens/s without any reason, and I assume it is related to power profiles. However while doing high intensity tasks even for a short period of time cpu produces strange sounds not heard by me from the time of intel cpu 20 years ago, when I had to go and use special tweaking software to deal with the cpu states to mask the noise. It is not cpu fan but some kind of electrical interference.Screen is fantastic but randomly flickers for a fraction of second, noticeable enough, and very annoying. It happens in Chrome, Zoom, did not notice in Edge. First I though it is related to variable screen refresh rate, but not, happens regardless of the setting when video is played or camera in use.I had a few OLED laptops and never experienced color change on video being played while scrolling up down? When charged can get very hot. When taxed with longer tasks can get very hot.Battery life is good having in mind smaller battery compared with my other Asus Rog Flow X13 AMD 7940HS that had noticeable lower performance on battery. My mixed usage gave me 10+ hours on both, but again Snapdragon had a better performance and 54Wh battery vs 74Wh on AMD.Now the goods - I love overall performance on day to day tasks, very snappy, Excel is excellent, practically no performance loss on battery, instant on most of the time, arm specific application works very fast compared to x86, my own projects that I was able to re-compile to arm works better and faster than x86. It seems like this is the future I was taught 30 years ago learning the risc cpu architecture. But unfortunately still a future, not a present.Mac M silicon is, but Windows Arm is not (yet). At the end, the price % drops tells you all, and I would not even try them at full price.
