I think this is a great TV. Lots of adjustments, good picture, and a rechargeable solar charged remote control. It takes a little bit to learn to control, but once you get to find menu on the TV how to use the remote control, it has instructions on what all the buttons do. You will still have to install local channels such as ABC iView, Go Now 9, SBS OnDemand, et cetera, but they will download. The TV is fully compatible with Google TV. Aerial reception is very good compared to my previous TV. It takes a while to find all of the functions and learn all of the functions on this television, but overall I think it is a very good TV. Avoid this Samsung TV. I had heaps of problems with the picture quality. Prone to fade outs and out of focus scenes. Also white faces. I changed settings and reset TV several times without success. After three weeks I disconnected it because it was causing problems with my eyesight. I'm very disappointed with Samsung. They shouldn't stoop to selling CRAP products. This product should be removed from sale. It's well below standard. I have a Sony TV and it has a perfect picture. I also had a more expensive Samsung TV and it also had a perfect picture. JB Hi Fi should know better than to sell rubbish products. I found out that the faults are well known that this Samsung TV model has huge problems.

We bought this TV for a second room because we love the 55â Samsung we bought around a year ago. The picture quality is excellent, very clear with vibrant colours. Sound quality is very good, about as good as possible for such a slim TV (we thought we might need a sound bar and sub like we did in the lounge room, but for the bedroom the sound is perfectly fine). Great build quality, very easy to fix the feat onto the TV. For features I gave it 4/5. I like the menu system on the other unit better. This menu just doesnât seem as full features or as intuitive, Iâm sure itâs just a familiarity thing, and once you find what you need the TV still performs great. Good luck if youâre just buying the TV to watch free to air or plug in A PlayStation or so, Still, it is perfect for what we want, and incredibly priced for its quality.
My 2nd Samsung smart tv, and will never buy another. From new & freshly installed upon setup up-to-date firmware it takes 12 seconds between pressing 'source' on the remote, and actually reaching that menu on screen. Then a minimum 3 seconds between further remote button input, and it appearing on screen. It's actually slower than my cheapo old tv that I replaced, ironically, because the lag was bad between remote/on-screen. My other samsung tv (5 years old) apparently uses the same Tizen OS, so I'm not sure why this unit is so awful with response of remote control, with it being a supposedly 'better', and certainly far newer, tv. Maybe I just got a bad unit, but latest firmware, and zero extra apps installed (actually removed a few of the factory defaults as well ... MoreMy 2nd Samsung smart tv, and will never buy another. Saved hard for this purchase, and very disappointed in it.
Where do I begin. Compared to my previous UA60JU model, this BU8000 75"lacks many features although the OS has been updated. The remote, whilst easy to hold lacks any detailed functionality so you find yourself always needing to select the options vi the OS. And the buttons, unlike the old remote are too easy pressed to be accidentally or sitting on the remote (on a couch) and off goes or unintentionally going to Netflix, Prime or Disney with 3 dedicated buttons. It's just a bad design but I do like the solar charging feature. The Media player controls for playing your own videos from the USB connection has half the options now, no freeze/next frame, no Zoom (unless you go back to OS) and slowmo always skips 10 frames to begin and FF is still only x3. The horizontal HDMI & optical connections at back mean your cables will stick straight out at least 3-4 cm so if you need these, forget a flush mounting on the wall and risk of damaging the cable as it hits the wall. The other side mounted HDMI connections are flimsy - I broke one when mounting on the wall. Trying to connect even a Samsung Theatre System is impossible - keeps asking for SOURCE when I select it. External Connections lag too and the WiFi is now weaker with constant buffering when connecting to my PC. Not sure if it is a fault, but when the screen goes black there are sections at corners of the screen showing faded white backlights. Sound volume is weird, like you need to turn up to 50% to hear it as it goes to 100 but quality is acceptable with good bass response. Picture is good in most cases so happy in that respect. I guess you get what you pay for with Samsung cheaper Crystal DIsplay models but one does expect with newer models, even the basic to have the expected features.
I bought this TV 2 weeks ago and overall I'm happy with it 4/5. Why not 5/5? This is due to 4 things that I don't like with it. 1. This TV is a lot slower than my other Samsung TV in my lounge that I bought 4y ago. The new one "thinks" too long for new tv 2. Adverts on home screen. When somebody pays for new product surely don't want to see any adverts 3. Netflix sometimes can't load. I had to do research and found out that if this is happend I have to disconnect TV from power for a minute. This is not happening to my old Samsung TV in other room 4. When TV is on and screen is displaying dark/black there is a very light shade on top right corner. Due to this colours will be inconsistent. What do I like with this TV? I've had the tv for about six months, I love all the features Samsung have. It's so quick convenient to install and use the apps like ABC ivew Or watch utube. I love how you turn on my xbox one x console through the app and use the Samsung remote to navigate through the xbox. The 4K graphics are great with my xbox and there's no lag while playing all the games. Games and movies sound great and through the sound bar and using a bluetooth headset. It's so quick and convenient to pair my bluetooth aswell. The new remote is great for the environment carbon footprint using no batteries. I also like how you can charge the remote through solar power. This TV annoys me, all its "features" can't be turned off. It's settings menu is small and samsung tv plus is a flop. The remote has no customisation and is incredibly hard to see what you're pressing when the lights are off. There's no button for live tv and if you leave the samsung tv plus button on (I'd recommend turning it off) it will change the channel to some random samsung channel if you press it. If you do turn off samsung tv plus because it's trash you've now got an empty spot in the remote you can't use. Don't get me started on replacing the numbers with a side scroll of numbers, I get you want your remote looking minimilist but I feel like removing the number pad is a step backwards in evolution. Positives, pictures nice for the price, it doesn't take ... MoreThis TV annoys me, all its "features" can't be turned off. It's settings menu is small and samsung tv plus is a flop. Tv is perfectly fine, but OMG if I had known the remote was one of these new fan dangle space aged âletâs all save the world/environmentâ without the use of batteries, I never would have bought this tv. I kid you not, it doesnât use batteries! Iâm an 80âs kid. We ALL use batteries!! Itâs supposed to be solar power without the use of the sun. But unless I got a dodgy one, it doesnât solar power anything. It doesnât come with a cord so I spent the first week without the use of a tv because it didnât work and no matter what I tried, the sun, the lamps, the hot air from the 5 year olds mouth, it wouldnât solar power on. I finally found a compatible power chord with one of my sons toys and plugged that baby in! Oh the joys of that little red light. I could watch tv.
