Philosophy Purity Made Simple One-Step Facial Cleanser - 8 fl oz bottle

I received this cleanser as a Christmas gift last year and I liked it. It's very gentle and emulsifies perfectly. I decided to try it on the evening of Christmas night to see if it removes all of my, more than usual amount of makeup, festivity make up, red lips, and glitter, lol, it removed most of the lippy, and my face make up, but, not my mascara and glittery eyeshadow. But, that's OK. Went in with an oil cleanser and it all came off. I noticed my skin was a bit dry, even after my oil cleanse. Nothing a moisturizer can fix. My over all thought on this product, I think it will work for removing everyday, light make up days. Do a double cleanse if using a heavier amount of sunscreen. And follow up with a moisturizer. Best Facial Soap for Oily Skin

I can't thank my sister enough for introducing me to Purity Made Simple facial cleanser. That was six years ago and I have never used another cleanser since. I am a white female aged 68 with the oiliest skin of anyone I've ever known. It's been a lifelong headache, starting with a face full of pimples in junior high that appeared to have no end in sight (yes, I got zits in middle age!). Since using Purity, not one pimple has dared appear on my face. And my skin feels so soft and hydrated. The pump feature makes it easy to apply and there is no waste--one pump does my whole face and neck. When it comes to facial cleansers, I prefer an odorless one like Purity. Finally, it rinses clean. Best cleanser!

I honestly cannot remember how I found this product, but I’ve been using it for YEARS. I have suffered from SEVERE hormonal and cystic/nodular acne on top of having combination skin. I’ve been on countless medications to try and remedy my skin troubles over the years with no success. I have extremely sensitive skin also. But once I discovered philosophy, that changed. This cleaner combined with hope in a jar moisturizer has made my skin so healthy! The combination skin is not even a thing anymore. This cleanser work’s amazingly and is so gentle, I take my eye makeup off with it too and it doesn’t burn! My fav make up remover & cleanser

This has been my fav make up remover for 4 years. I have yet to find anything better. The number one reason it's my fav is because I can use it to remove mascara and it doesn't burn my eyes. I don't wear water proof mascara because my eyes are sensitive so idk how it works for that. I will say that I always moisturize afterwards. I'm not sure if it makes my skin slightly dry or if that's just my skin but you should be moisturizing after any cleanser to protect your skin barrier anyway. Also, on days I wear more make up than usual or sweat more, I might use a toner or micellar water after cleansing. I rarely get anything on my cotton round that the cleanser missed or didn't get. If there's anything better than this, I have yet to find it.

NEVER LOOKED AT OTHER CLEANSER NO MORE

I've been using purity for over 4 years and never searched for other brands. The cleanser is so gentle on my sensitive skin, and moisturizing at the same time. Of course, you need your moisturizer after cleansing but boy it does wonder to my skin.I've been suffering from acne for a while now but I'm so grateful to have come across this product a few years back. If your skin is sensitive, or acne-prone, get this cleanser. I learned it a hard way to get rid of my acne when I always look for a harsh cleanser that can strip the oil off my face. NO DON'T DO THAT! Getting rid of acne takes time, believe me, look for a gentle cleanser and do not ever stop at just that, ALWAYS MOISTURIZE and you'll be on your way to a clear skin.Good luck girlies!

Dear heavens. I do not do reviews often unless something has completely "wow" floored me or near traumatized me so horrendously that I have to say something.This was one of those moments. First, the perfume. If you have sensitive skin (which I do not) don't even look in the direction of this face-wash. Look at origins, gentle foam face-wash.Second, I used this face wash ONCE and the next day my face was littered with red little pimples that hurt so bad I could barely touch my face near the respective areas. I had to return it immediately.Third, I had make up on. When I got out of the shower after washing my face, I still had make up on. It removed what a swiped of my finger would've. But to the youth, who get curious about the brand because it has to be good right? It's expensive because it's a great product and is what I need. Trust me sweetheart. There's better. If you want a deep action pore cleaner that will truly penetrate your skin and give you a fresh face everyday with near no break outs- we're human. We will never get the perfection we want and see on others so love yourself and the one or two pimples you will get on occasion just from life- origins, gentle foam cleanser OR origins, clear improvement which is what I upgraded to. Our skin is different when we're older. Maybe when I'm in my 50s I'll try this again. But my younger skin was not a fan.

Purity Made Simple

I have VERY sensitive skin and I have been using this product for over 20 years! It's absolutely the best cleanser I have ever used.It's the only cleanser that I can even open my eyes/use around the delicate skin around my eyes.Safe enough for children & great for older people: everyone thinks I am 10 yrs younger than I actually am.I credit Philosophy.From "Purity Made Simple", "The Present" after using a Philosophy facial scrub or exfoliator, SPF30+, & a weekly Deep Peel.By the way, every time I wear ANY of the "Amazing Grace" perfumes, people compliment me. It's also a wonderful aromatherapy.I especially love the "Eye and Lip" cream.I have yet to be disappointed by ANY of Philosophy's products.

Several reviews claiming it burned/gave red rash

I only bought this bc it was on sale. The first thing I noticed is that the smell is way overpowering. Not pleasant. That in itself probably would've made me not repurchase. After only using this product twice I woke up to my face dry, irritated, itchy, and red. It looked like I had a sunburn stamped on my face. It was red everywhere but around my eyes (as I avoid my eyes with face wash). It took several days of only using my trusted fall back cleanser (korres) and moisturizer (PTR) to calm my skin back down. I'm guessing this was a chemical burn, as I've had one before from a sunscreen years ago. Something in this formula is really not working across the board, as there are several other reviews saying they had the same reaction as me. cleanser from *actual heaven*

Beyond thankful I was gifted this heavenly facial cleanser!!About 4 years ago my face broke out bad, acne had never been an issue for me before, nothing I tried worked I had no clue what to do/which products to even try next. Once the cleanser I’d been using ran out I started washing my face 2x/day with this purity by philosophy cleanser. I IMMEDIATELY noticed a difference and absolutely loved it! Within 5 or 6 weeks the skin on my face/neck had made more than a full recovery; I had the best complexion of my life! Instead of dehydrating/irritating my skin more (using all the acne products out there) this quenched and soothed it to the max, never been so in love with a product before. Eternally grateful for this do it all pure simple cleanser!

worth every penny! Holy grail!!!!!

I mean when worth every penny! I bought it on sale the beginning of the year...BEST SPONTANEOUS purchase ever! I have reallly sensitive skin so i was nervous to use a new product but I liked that it had toner helped me skipp a step in my routine...NOT ONCE did this irritate my skin,make me breakout, made my skin feel tight.It always smells so good the meadow foam in this cleanser is suppose to be really good for skin and I'm a believer now; my skin has never looked better and I suffer from adult hormonal acne. I will never go without this cleanser.Also it's lasted me about a year.I'm at the bottom of the bottle have to use a foundation spatula to scrape the last of it out, don't let it go to waste! Haha.
