An excellent product for its purpose

This product arrived very promptly. Its instructions are comprehensive, easy to follow and understand, and very descriptive in helping the reader understand exactly how to use it along with many recommendations and safety advice.The heat from the product's light is very gentle and barely noticeable, with a selection of heat settings for your preference. The pulse from the light is very bright even when pressed hard against the skin, which is something worth noting.It will take time for results to show, but from an operational point of view this product provides a very friendly user experience. It is intuitive and easy to operate and simple and clear instructions.

Buy it - you genuinely won’t be disappointed

I bought it on sale incase it didn’t really work for me so I wouldn’t feel like it was a total waste of a lot of money. SO GLAD I DID! You use it every fortnight for the first few turns and then goes to monthly (I’m still doing fortnightly cos I figure it can’t hurt) Anyway the hair reduction is AMAZING! Glad I’m doing it in winter when I’m very pale because my hair is jet black so it’s the perfect combo for the laser. I’m gonna be hairfree in summer and not have to worry about stubble rash when I’m in my bathers! Seriously - would recommend to anyone. Underarms are almost hairless. Legs are soooo fluffy with minimal hair - no more prickles and stubble. And bikini line is hairfree and smooth ✅

Good but a struggle to use

I have a lumea that I purchased in 2011. So easy to use but the battery life became short and I wanted a replacement to keep on top of all those years of hard work! I purchased this one and used it on my legs and under arms for the first time today. I’ve found that it doesn’t always make contact with skin first time so I’m readjusting it and it can take a few attempts. Even when I use the small attachment on my underarms, it’s a struggle. Such a shame because I have no doubt that this device is probably more advanced than my old device. It’s just time consuming and I am in a position to compare because this is my second lumea. 🤞let’s hope it was worth the struggle !

Really does work.

Have been intrigued with IPL hair removal in the past but always thought it was too expensive to invest in especially as one needs to undergo numerous sessions before achieving successful results, if any results at all. Saw this particular product was promoted during a recent click frenzy sale where it was heavily discounted so decided to give it a go.Very easy to use and I have to say I am extremely happy with the quick and effective results I have achieved for my underarms. In the two months since I have started using the Lumea, I now have no visible hair on my underarms. This is probably because there is no way of knowing which sections you have or haven’t treated when you are looking at a hair free area. (The area needs to be hair free/shaved/waxed/epilated before you treat it). But after three months there is a definite reduction in hair growth.The machine does warm up quite a bit if you use it for a long period at a time so it is advised to treat more sensitive areas (underarms) before less sensitive areas (legs).I was nervous about the light flashes affecting my eyes but it seems that the only light to escape is a brief red light. The machine has a safety feature in that it won’t flash unless it is in close and complete contact with your skin.I love that this machine comes with an app that stores all your dates and results so help you follow the program.

This product is not amazing at all.

Not too sure if the previous reviews are real. But here is a 100% genuine one.Firstly, the Philips Lumea App is not available in Singapore. You won't be able to download from playstore nor from the url provided. The few Philips staff that I engaged with had assist to "escalated" the issue of the "App not available in your country/region" and most said the technical team will get back within 24-48 hours. After 6 days.. they got back and said that they will release the App in April. I bought the product in early march and I was told to wait for the App release. If the App is not ready, why did Philips sell the product.Secondly, I am considered a pretty fair Asian. With their key statement "Suitable for a wide variety of hair and skin types". It is NOT TRUE. I have tried it both on myself and my husband. With both of us pretty fair, our pits area doesn't not work. Its forever in "orange"- which means "it is too dark for this product it will automatically stop emitting pulses." In this case, I couldn't even use the product at all. In fact it is mostly orange on parts of my legs at well which are considered fair and definitely in the range of Philips "suitable" skin type.Not really recommended for purchase unless you are like snow white..Pretty disappointed with this product.. its not cheap either..

It actually won't fire a flash of light if it detects darker skin tone to avoid burns, which is very clever and reassuring. I found that the areas where I had the most hair reduction, are in fact the areas where the hair is the darkest. My arm hair is quite light and that's where I've had the least hair reduction. However, the hairs that have grown back on my arms are much softer and thinner than before Lumea treatments.I shaved each area before treatment instead of epilating or waxing as I read that the hair needs to remain in the root below the skin surface, in order for it to be effectively zapped. I love the pen trimmer that's included with the device, which I found useful to use on upper lip and facial hair before and in-between treatments.The device itself is comfortable to hold and very intuitive to use. Although it has a cord attached, it doesn't get in the way and it's a good length so you don't have to sit close to the mains. I personally didn't feel any pain whilst using the device, however, on high settings you do feel slight warmth and a sensation like a rubber band snapping, which isn't overly uncomfortable. It comes with three different attachments for body, face and bikini/underarms which are easy to interchange.I would have preferred a more robust storage box/container to a cloth zip bag, since the attachments are quite fragile (the microchip sticks out of each attachment) and could snap easily if squashed which would render them unusable.Overall, I think that it's a fantastic device with which you can achieve long-lasting near-permanent hair removal at a fraction of the cost of salon treatments. It's not for those who expect immediate results, as it takes a number of treatments to notice results depending on your skin/hair type. It takes patience but you won't be disappointed!

The device makes it easy to find the correct light intensity setting for you. I received the Lumea Advanced and it looked so classy and extremely well made, I read through the instructions and did my test site 24 hours before. It becomes difficult at times to get in the right position and get all areas but over time you learn and get in a flow/routine.Second Session - I felt the second session was a lot easier than the first session, as I knew what to expect and I also had mastered the art of using the Lumea and the angles to hold it at to ensure all areas were covered, again with the intensity I reduced by 1 around the ankle and the kneecap area. This time round I haven’t seen any drastic change, so shaved armpits 3 times and legs once. I’m due to do my 3rd treatment in 2 days and I’m excited to see the final result. Me personally will never go back to a razor again, these are pricey to begin with but are worth every single penny, they are stylish, convenient, save a fortune on razors, blades, waxing, shave gel etc. I would highly reccomend to anyone who second guessing this product as literally it’s amazing, no more awkward shower positions, no more shaving every other day, I just can’t believe this product exsisted and I had never heard of it. It’s not talked about enough and Promoted enough.
