I consulted the Size Chart and ordered this item in Size Large, the size which consistently fits me, across all brands: LL Bean, Eddie Bauer, etc. It arrived and I packed it, the day before I departed on my trip to Scotland, in 04.2022. This item was to be an integral part of my layered outdoor hiking outfit. But it was WAY too small! I had just wasted $100. I gave the item to a family member, who consistently wears a Size Medium. She gave it to my sister, who consistently wears a Size Small and it fit her perfectly!I want to support the Patagonia company and their shared values but cannot order items with any confidence in the sizing and size chart.

I love this light jacket - or at least I did, because I lost it somewhere last week.This was holy grail for me - a light jacket long enough to cover my torso, when I'm reaching high, or totally contorted working on the house, scrambling up rocks, etc. It went everywhere with me, and still looked cute and sharp enough to wear out to a restaurant after everything.,Perfect fit, perfect drape, and now it's gone, and out of stock, and I'm so worried it will be redesigned with a short boxy style like all the other "ladies wear" these days.For sizing reference, I'm a size small, relatively long torso, athletic non-curvy shape, and the small fit me perfectly with a nice loose comfortable and flattering drape.I will miss this one forever!

I really like this jacket. It will be a good light jacket for the fall. Very soft and comfortable. It is a bit tight so only light layers can be worn beneath it. My only complaint is that it is very long (especially in the back). And per most sleeved items I need to cuff the sleeves to a shorter length. I wish there were petite-size options. For reference, I am 5'-4" - 145lbs.

Bought this for my 11 year old daughter and an additional black one for myself. She is 5'7". 100lbs and I am 5'9" 120lbs. We both wear size small in women's. This was bought for our 1st Aspen trip. So the jacket was slightly fitted. It offered plenty of room for the base layer. We bought this as a mid-layer option. It was perfect for that negative 7 degree weather on Christmas eve and day. The only complaint was I would have loved if it offered a extra inch of fabric for partial finger and palm coverage. When not using it for a mid-layer for ski trips, I do exercise everyday. The coverage for the hands and palms is necessary for protection from the sun and doubles to keep me toasty in cooler South Texas weather. This jacket is quite comfortable and warm. I just wore this jacket every day for 2 weeks straight while traveling around Scotland hiking and sight-seeing. It did not pill at all! Pockets are roomy and zip. It's perfect for temps 50-60 degrees and layers nicely under a rain jacket. It's a slim fit and looks more polished than a sweatshirt, works nicely in the city or on the trail. 5'5" 135lbs size M (sleeves are a little long but can be folded back).

I might actually prefer this over my regular R1 pullover for casual wear. The moment I put it on, I did not want to take it off. The material is so soft. Perfect height for the zip collar. It doesn't feel like it's choking me. The fit is pretty similar to how it appears on the model, although a tiny bit longer on me since I have shorter torso. Comfy to wear alone but there's also just enough room to fit another layer under. I wear a capilene cool long-sleeve underneath for my evening runs in ~0C temp, they keep me comfortably warm.For reference: I'm 5'3", 126lb. Bust: 35in, waist: 28.5in, hip: 37.5in
This is probably my favorite style cool-weather shirt I've purchased from Patagonia. I love it so much that I've collected it in three different colors. My first one is about 3 years old and is still in excellent condition. I wear these most of the year with the exception of true summer. The tops are great for layering or wearing on their own. I hope Patagonia keeps producing them and wouldn't mind at all if more colors were offered!
Great top for everyday wear in my rural remote-ish northern region of the US. Loose enough to accommodate base layers, fitted enough to allow more layers on top. Excellent torso length like all of the R1 tops -- allows total range of motion - including arms over the head - without exposing any torso skin! Consistently warm even when sitting or standing still, and provides some wind blockage. Has held up nicely with several cycles of machine washing and line drying, no pilling or fading. And looks great, flattering, and nice enough for business-casual or dining out. I have not taken it "off-path" yet, so cannot say how the fabric would hold up to brambles/twigs/rocks.
Fabric is extra stretchy and feels like a warm, cozy second skin. Wicks well and is a perfect cold weather base layer and l look forward to wearing thru summer months for cool mountain weather too. Patagonia - please(!!) continue to offer this pullover and make available in more & brighter colors. Bought one in XS, and loved it so much I ordered 2 more. You sold out of the 3rd color in XS so I bought a second green one in XXS AND LOVED snugger fit even more. Sadly it looks like this style is being discontinued. Please keep offering this style and add some brighter colors!
