Amazing, practical, convenient

I bought this pack because I got tired of carrying things in my white coat, awkwardly running around the wards holding things from falling out. What I love most about this pack is its volume, I carry my stethoscope, n95 masks, surgical masks, pens, scissors, ID, pocket medicine book and up to 3 pagers at a time and feel that they fit in to the pack comfortably. The utility of the pack is also not to be understated. I can sling my face shield around it and I can also tuck papers, formers, etc into it like a waistband when wearing around my waist. It's very comfortable to wear and easy adjust as needed. The only reason I feel like I need to take one star is that I wish there was more compartmentalization of the main chamber. Another pocket to make it easier to put ... MoreI bought this pack because I got tired of carrying things in my white coat, awkwardly running around the wards holding things from falling out. What I love most about this pack is its volume, I carry my stethoscope, n95 masks, surgical masks, pens, scissors, ID, pocket medicine book and up to 3 pagers at a time and feel that they fit in to the pack comfortably. The utility of the pack is also not to be understated. I'm impressed with this thoughtful pack in many ways, but in the end it has a major flaw that will have me returning it. The product description states that it has two mesh pockets to hold your favorite size water bottle. After receiving it--ordered online-- I tried inserting a standard 32 oz. Nalgene bottle. Not even close no matter how far I tried to stretch the mesh. Next, I tried a considerably smaller standard sized bicycle water bottle. Even that was to large to squeeze in. Either I received a product that was manufactured poorly/incorrectly or the product description misstates the size and use of the mesh pockets. I haven't seen a similar complaint in the reviews and I'm sure the intention for the mesh pockets is to secure water bottles, so I likely was sent ... MoreI'm impressed with this thoughtful pack in many ways, but in the end it has a major flaw that will have me returning it. Without being able to store bottles it's worthless to me. I will bring both bottles to the store when trying to exchange/return. I've been a heavy consumer of Patagonia for more decades than I would like to share. I have noticed a continual slide in quality over at least the last five years. Switched all of my gear, and it's considerable, over to Arcteryx,...except for Black Hole bags. Looks like thats next. Patagonia, if you are manufacturing for the extremes of dog walking and fraternity bro's trying to look like adventurers so be it...but for people who actually need to rely on their gear, a smaller less lucrative market to be sure, please bring your once famous and deserved quality back. This small little product-problem is indicative of a much larger one. Thank you.

I love all of Patagonia products I have ever owned and I am covered from head to toe. This waist pack is built sturdy and the size is quite convenient to bring everywhere from work to beaches. It fits a book, flask and tightly packed rain jacket.Only thing this product has ever bothered me was that the key straps in the front pocket got stuck badly in the zippers handful times, and I had to squeeze into the tiny opening with a plier to undo it.Other than that, I couldnt be happier with this purchase!!

Great Alternative to Backpack for Small Loads
30 November 2019

I was somewhat skeptical at first because I did not want a huge fanny pack hanging around on my back or front. That said, this 5L waist pack ended up being just the right size and proved to be a great alternative to a backpack during a short vacation with the family. It was full but not too full, and avoided the issue of walking around w/ a large, but nearly empty ruck or filling it with stuff you don't need. The waist pack easily carried my phone, gloves, hat, charging cable, and sunglasses in addition to keys and metro cards. While quite comfortable as a waist pack, it is versatile enough to be carried to the front or worn as a sling too. Construction is solid. I would definitely buy this item again.

Highly functional minimalist pack

This is a great pack for when you want to travel light. I use it as a waist pack/crossbody pack for fly fishing. It securely fits 1 large streamer fly box, 1 medium sized double sided fly box, 2-3 tippet spools and leaders within the pack. You can make use of the many zipper and straps on the outside to secure more items such as nipper, hemostat, etc. The water bottle pouches are also great for holding more frequently accessed items like a 20 oz water bottle on one side and a multitool, etc. on the other.Functionally, it has been a great bag. The straps hold tight to the adjusted size. The one thing I have notice now after about 2 weeks of frequent saltwater fishing is that the zippers are showing some oxidation so I will make a better effort of rinsing them after ... MoreThis is a great pack for when you want to travel light. I love this pack

This is a great hip pack and holds everything I need for mountain biking - it holds a small pump, tire leavers, a small tool, extra tube, snacks, my phone and a light shell. If anything, it might be bigger than I need for my typical 1-2 hour rides! The water bottle pockets hold a regular sized bike bottle easily. It is super comfortable to wear, the straps are just really long since it's one size and I have a small waist so I have to trap them in the little elastic straps provided. The small outer zip pocket holds my iphone 10 well. The only change I would make would be to make the inside mesh pocket a zipper pocket too. It seems super durable and like it will last forever - it's already survived a couple of muddy rides. Overall, super happy with this very well made ... MoreThis is a great hip pack and holds everything I need for mountain biking - it holds a small pump, tire leavers, a small tool, extra tube, snacks, my phone and a light shell. It’s almost perfect.

I use this bag every single day. It’s fits more than it looks like it would. After a year it’s holding up nicely, the only thing is wish was different is the zippers change color over time. It would be nice if they started using stainless steel for the hardware.

Sewing Pattern Needs Work
21 November 2022

I bought this item in July 2022 for my cross-country cycling trips. Pros: quality materials. Cons: too small, poor design.Pack says 5L capacity, but it hardly fits a half gallon of milk. The pattern/design is too oblong, so pack bounces too much when full. In my opinion a semi-circle type shape would be ideal for a bag this size. One much needed alteration: compartments. I took the bag to my tailor and had a zipper installed on inside mesh pouch in order to contain extra small items (ie. Allen wrench, CO2 cartridge, tire levers, pen, etc.)

Very light and useful pack.

Including my daughter, we ended up ordering six of these packs. I have used one but personally I prefer Atom sling bag. These packs will be gifts to my daughter's best friend family in Korea. Patagonia is a very Popular brand in Korea nowadays. I am sure My daughter's best friend family will Enjoy this pack. This pack is very light and easy to use. I recommend others to try this pack. Thank you, Patagonia, for excellent products and customer service.

great bike pack
3 January 2021

I bought this pack for mountain biking, and it has been great. I bought it because I trust Patagonia to make great gear and it is made from 100% recycled plastic. I've ridden >2000 miles with this pack on both MTB and adventure riding and it's perfect for rides up to 4 hours. I usually tie a second layer around my waist on longer rides (wouldn't fit in the pack with food, bike repair kit, first aid kit). The fit is snug, and the pack carries well, even with 2, 20 oz bottles in the side pouches. It's also great for day hikes. I liked this pack so much that I bought one for each of my kids when they were ready to upgrade to a hip pack for mountain biking. Room for improvements: the outside pocket is too small to really use when the pack is full, and it would be great ... MoreI bought this pack for mountain biking, and it has been great. Overall, a great hip pack for short to medium adventures.
