I do photography. With a standard pack I typically had to remove it find what I wanted, stow what I didn't and slide the pack back on. Usually meant carrying the pack wearing only one strap. With this sling pack I swing it around in front of me, and open the top zipper half way. Not only does this put the contents of the pack right in front of me. The open pack becomes my work surface. Makes it much easier to change lens, filters or batteries.Roomy enough for a water bottle, snacks, etc. I thought it might be too small but seems perfect for what I need it for.

I love the daylight sling! Like al Osprey products great quality, design and warranty. Perfect for a short hike or around town when you have too much for your pockets. I love that you can switch the strap to go over either shoulder and the main zipper allows you to open it to whatever side you are wearing it on. The 6 liter size is about right for water (liter or less), phone, keys, small wallet and a bar. If you carry more than that and a water bottle you will want bigger size. The only weird thing is the little front strap pocket. Not sure what it was meant to hold, lip balm maybe? I am 5'11" and it fits great, stays put for walking or cycling.

I love the size - not too small for short trips / hikes. Plenty of room and features for just enough stuff. The ambidextrous shoulder strap is a nice feature that allows me to share this with family and friends. An exterior pouch for a water bottle would be about the only upgrade I’d recommend, but it was easy enough to clip a bottle to the loop built into the pack without any carrying problems. Highly recommend this pack. Light, sturdy and well made. Can’t go wrong with the Osprey lifetime product guarantee either!

This has been a great everyday bag so far. It has a fair amount of capacity with added elastic pockets inside to keep things in place. The outer pocket is thinly covered and good for light duty things such as reading glasses, papers or receipts and the dreaded face mask. The main storage pocket is where the volume is. I keep my sunglasses (in a case), wallet, and a small canvas bag with my daily accessories inside. There still a ton of room left over and a 16-20 oz water bottle could still fit inside without over stuffing. There is even a chapstick holder in the shoulder strap which is super convenient.Quality overall is what you would expect from a name brand. I do find the zippers however, are bit tight to operate (they have small fine teeth) although they have not yet failed me. The strap is fixed on one side and is worn over my right shoulder. The bag easily swings to the front under my left arm for easy bag access. The compartments then are opened with my right hand pulling a zipper from left to right (side). At the outlet price, this was a great buy. This also allowed me to see if sling bags work for me (or not). I would highly recommend this one for a great everyday bag but would also consider something different (for me) next time, now knowing what features I’d like to have in the future. Get yours today!
I am a tiny thing at only 5'1 and 7/8ths. I am an avid hiker, I love taking photos with my outdated phone, so not having a space for my phone in front was kind of not pleasant.I overlooked that aspect because of the reviews saying how comfortable the strap was on hikes.I disagree. The strap was too bulky for me and it didn't feel comfortable, I was always having to adjust something on trail. Also, the strap hanging down from the front strap was annoying even though I found a way to keep it stable, it was bulky and brushed my happy hiking arm.My heavy water bottle fit nicely, but that's all I could fit inside besides my keys, poopy sacks, green and my chapstick.I love the lifetime warranty, but the design needs work.
I just got this in the Wave Blue colorway. I'm very impressed with the construction quality and size of the bag. It's neither too big, or too small--it's just the right size for carrying everyday items and I got it because I hate having my pockets crammed full of stuff and still having to leave a lot of essentials at home. It is, in essence, the perfect man bag for me.To give an example of what will fit in this bag...I have my SlimFold wallet, iPhone XR, Oakley Frogskins, reader glasses, a Nalgene flask, face mask, lip balm, keys w/ small Swiss Army Classic and a small triple AAA flashlight. With all this in there, there is still plenty of room to spare. I don't carry an iPad, but I did test fit my work iPad that has a somewhat slim protective case and it did fit ... I don't carry an iPad, but I did test fit my work iPad that has a somewhat slim protective case and it did fit somewhat snugly. Some details on the construction...it is made in Vietnam and if you read up on the company's history, you will know that they maintain very high quality standards. The bag is made from very sturdy material and all the stitching and everything is perfect. YKK zippers all-around, which to me, generally means a product is good quality. The best part is, if anything does fail, it is backed by Osprey's lifetime warranty-they will repair or replace any item, no matter how old.
I bought this for a trip to Costa Rica and really enjoyed the simplicity. It is a small bag that my Ipad with a case (10'' x 7.5") wouldn't quite fit into to give you an idea of size. I used it to carry cameras, snacks, a phone and an extra set of trunks / shorts on hikes along the beach and into town and still had a bit of room to spare. This is a small day tripper and it really delivers for that use. It is light and very comfortable (the shoulder strap is super padded) and I liked that it flatted out really nice to fit into my air travel bag. I think this bag would be great for a light set of rain gear, a small camera rig, your phone, a water bottle, and some day snacks. If you need to carry more than that, you will probably want something a little bigger. Thanks ... MoreI bought this for a trip to Costa Rica and really enjoyed the simplicity. I really wanted to like this sling because it's the only one that allows you to move the strap from one side to the other. I'm left-handed and the ease access can be a challenge with other slings. Unfortunately, the strap is so thick and the fabric is so rough that it felt uncomfortable rubbing against my neck as soon as I tried it. Compared to the flexible, unpadded straps of the Daylite Plus, this felt like overkill for such a small bag that's not going to get too heavy. I wish the key hook was in the outer pocket like it is in my Daylite Plus and Celeste packs. It makes no sense to have to work two sets of zippers to access housekeys.
I bought this for bicycling and long walks. The size is perfect for me and it is quite comfortable to wear — most of the time. Size-wise, I was able to carry a rain jacket and a zippered sweater along with some pocket items on a 60 mile ride that prompted my purchase. The fit was great on my bike, however, it slipped around quite a bit even. The grippy texture on the bag’s back slides on my bike jersey and rain jacket’s smooth materials. This left me frequently adjusting it back in place. The grip was fine against my sweatshirt. I will try adding a strap to keep it in place when I use it on long rides while dressed like that. Wearing it “bandoleer style” worked a little better but was still problematic. This seemingly small bag is right-sized for many things. I can ... MoreI bought this for bicycling and long walks. I can easily fit my U-lock and cable into it and still have room for a sweatshirt. the pockets are well thought out, giving me a place to secure pocket items that might otherwise get easily lost. It almost closes around my 9” iPad — just enough to secure it but not enough to get the zipper around it. That was a pleasant surprise as I left for a longish morning walk today. The bag gripped my canvas jacket and felt like I wasn’t carrying a thing. My 5* rating is because the bag is imperfect for some things and perfect for others. That’s exactly how gear should be.
I love this bag, it does fit my huge hydro flax in the big compartment, but nothing else can fit. I love the little pocket on the strap, that's helpful and I have swapped sides on the bottom strap so that right there is useful. I love how this lays comfortably on my back and nothing weird is bulging and no annoying strings that dangle. I have been quite the backpack connoisseur so I think I know a thing or two. And by far, even though the space is not necessarily the largest for sling bags, it is by far the most comfortable and the cutest of them all. I got the orange rust and brown one and it blends in with the red rocks in my neighborhood. You are looking for sling bags for a reason, not huge backpacks so the size is not really the issue with sling bags.If I ... Otherwise, I love my bag.
