This is a good cheap case to protect the Pi. However, like most of the standard Pi cases in my experience, you may need to make some slight adjustments with a file so the Pi fits. With this case I had to make the micro SD slot larger so I could slide the card in/out (this only took five mins). I also added the fan to the case and drilled a Few small holes in the top so the air could flow better as the Pi 4b gets hot. Looks good and seems to work well.

Lovely little case, the Pi 4 snaps in perfectly and it looks lovely. However, it needs some vents. The Pi 4 is a hot beast - much more so than it's predecessors, and running anything remotely taxing sends it into overdrive. Because the unit fits so well, it's a very enclosed space and internal heat rapidly builds up to the point the Pi 4 starts to throttle itself. The little temperature gauge appears on the desktop and it slows down.Removing the top and keeping it open helps keep it just under this level. A few slots in the top, and a fan on the Pi and it would run fine.until a new case appears, it is the only choice, but I loop forward to an update. Until then, I'm going to cut some vents in myself for now.

I've been a fan of the Official Raspberry Pi product line from the start (I think I have one of everything including the mug) so when I got the new RPi 4 the choice of case was obvious; I even waited for it to come back in to stock. I did consider the PiBow alternative as I have the PiBow case for my Pi3+A which is running a tvHat but, with the PiBow cases being more open I worry about dust accumulating and so I prefer the enclosed cases especially the official Raspberry Pi models. The finishing, detailing and even packaging are almost but not quite Apple-esque (its only a fraction of an Apple price after all). The Pi fits perfectly in the case and the lid simply clips on. Its nicely designed, good quality and not too expensive - does the job.Only four stars because of the lack of the opening sides and opening top access panel of its predecessors.

Great looking ceiling mount enclosure. Build quality is solid, internal clearance is adequate to get a shield on top of the fitted pi. I would award more stars for inclusion of enough side panels to fully enlcose the case without any cable entry perforations and for a lower priced or included wall/ceiling mount bracket.Cable entry when wall/ceiling mounted with enclosed sides is through a 25mm knockout in the mount and a corresponding drill through the base of the enclosure. Cables will enter directly below the fitted pi and without risers, clearance would not be adequate for CAT5 cable, so mounting will require a bit of adaptation.
Works fine, easy to clip together. It does increase CPU temperature quite significantly; temperature dropped about 8C after I removed the lid and another 8C when I took the board out of the case completely.
I bought this container to prevent me accidentally damaging my new pi 4. It fits nicely but remember to take the memory card out before fitting it.Note that there is no room to attach wires to the GPIOs with the box top on. This is not a problem for me because I'm using it as a server. This limitation means I have scored it 4 star rather than 5
The case is very well build, nice quality plastic and fits together perfectly. It looks great too in red and was really looking forward to putting them on display. However, the big problem is overheating. Even with the large aluminium heatsink inside this case, the CPU on the Pi4 idles at 80C when placed in the cupboard. This is a deal breaker for me as it results in almost instant thermal throttling. I eventually replaced then with full aluminium cases which dropped the idle temperature by 20C. Very nice but impractical for me :(
The case is well made and provides plenty of protection for for your RPi4, but it's not nearly as modular as the previous version. You can't remove the side panels and there's no independent lid on the main top. This means you can't access the GPIO pins without remove the upper half of the case. Also with the top in place, the case is completely sealed so there is no ventilation :-(. The RPi4 does run hotter than the previous versions. In a test I left myRPi4 sealed in the case, and even idling it was hitting temperatures of 80C. With the lid off that dropped to 60C. At the least I'd have preferred a case that had some ventilation holes in it, or ideally a lid you could remove while still leaving the RPi4 securely held in the case. The critics were not exaggerating when they said the pi runs hot in this case.I have added a small heatsink to my raspberry pi 4.With the top lid on, the pi idles at 66C and reaches 80C and starts throttling hard after about 3-4 minutes with all cores at 100%.With the top lid off, the pi idles at 55C and it takes about 15 min. with all cores at 100% before the CPU reaches 80C and it starts to throttle a little bit. That's 11C degrees fewer at idle and more than 10 minutes more of intensive processing before throttling with the top lid removed!!Even when throttling the pi will still perform noticeably better with the top lid off because the throttling is a lot less severe.I strongly suggest at least drilling some ventilation holes in the case to allow the ... MoreThe critics were not exaggerating when they said the pi runs hot in this case.I have added a small heatsink to my raspberry pi 4.With the top lid on, the pi idles at 66C and reaches 80C and starts throttling hard after about 3-4 minutes with all cores at 100%.With the top lid off, the pi idles at 55C and it takes about 15 min. with all cores at 100% before the CPU reaches 80C and it starts to throttle a little bit. That's 11C degrees fewer at idle and more than 10 minutes more of intensive processing before throttling with the top lid removed!!Even when throttling the pi will still perform noticeably better with the top lid off because the throttling is a lot less severe.I strongly suggest at least drilling some ventilation holes in the case to allow the heat to escape if you want to use this case with the top lid on.The case looks nice and the pi fits really nicely inside it, so I won't give it the worst rating because of that but the thermal issues make it a terrible product.
I got one of these for a raspberry pi 4B. Fitment and quality are amazing. I like it better than the case with a fan because there is no noise, and no spinning parts to wear out. I loved that the manufacturers included gap pad material to thermally conduct from the ICs to the heat sink. They also were thoughtful enough to include the allen wrench needed for the provided screws. This version was designed to not block the wifi/bluetooth signals as much as a case that fully wraps the board. It also allows access to the pins. Im happy enough with it that I purchased more.
