What I love the most about this is how it tackles unevenness WHILST I'm wearing it - making this not just a foundation but a 'Treatment foundation' if ever there was such a thing! It contains brightening ingredients such as Grapefruit extract, which is why when I wash this off, I swear my skin looks brighter than it did before I put it on! I stopped by at the Clinique counter to find the right match. The SA settled on two shades for me to trial: Oat and Honeywheat (neither of which were quite the right shade for me as I discovered later, settled on Cardamom). As a light, non-oily, everyday foundation it works really well, coverage was medium but buildable and without using a primer beforehand, only setting powder after, it stayed put from 8AM in the morning until ... MoreWhat I love the most about this is how it tackles unevenness WHILST I'm wearing it - making this not just a foundation but a 'Treatment foundation' if ever there was such a thing! One of the downsides is that on oilier areas like my t-zone, especially on hotter days, it didn't last as long as it did on other areas, my pores becoming fairly visible after several hours, but that's an issue I find with many foundations, not just this one. Also the SPF 15 isn't quite as high as I'd like so I end up applying a sunblock separately before this. It's only the inclusion of sillicones that've prevented me from giving it a full 5 lippies, as I wouldn't be able to use everyday due to the breakout they cause me, otherwise a somewhat unique foundation that goes above and beyond just providing coverage.~ My Neiman Marcus Top 7 must-have list ~(My top 7 must-have beauty products of all time, focusing mainly on my purchases at Neiman Marcus)1. I do not have oily prone skin. I wash my face every morning and night with the same gentle cleanser I've used for years. My forehead is actually the driest part of my face and I broke out with 6 new little zits after a few days. I had switched from Too Faced Born This Way tinted moisturizer because they discontinued it. (I had never broken out from that.) I wish I had tried a tester of this foundation first.Really disappointed, as I haven't gotten acne in several years but now I gotta let my 6 new pimples heal because of whatever they put in this. After doing some research I found I'm not the only one dealing with this. And it's sad because a lot of people think their skin is the problem. This was reccomended to me by an ulta employee with a clinique badge, so i figured she got commission or worked directly with clinique but im too nice to say no. Plus when she did a color match on my and i tested the formula, i found it was just what i was looking for for casual day to day makeup.Ive always had a vendetta against clinique due to animal testing (not sure if they still do it tbh) but i gave it a chance- a very expensive chance when i normally refuse to spend more than $15 on makeup.I love it though, its a perfect shade match, its blends nicely under or over cream blush and contour. Its slightly dewy but sits well under pressed and loose powder for more sheen control. It covers redness and isn't patchy over my acne. It really is worth the price, the only fancy product i use every day.4 stars because it does transfer very easily, and i do need to blot it throughout the day, i have everso slightly oily leaning skin and its pretty hot and humid. But if i get my fave close to ANYTHING it transfers over it it. If i touch my face while reading a book then the pages are covered in finger prints.
I shopped Ulta for at least two hours last Saturday and tried pretty much every foundation available at my particular store. Key word "available" ...Including.. Nars, it, Tarte, Robane, Charlotte Tillbury, MAC,.BobbieBrown..and others i can't remember. My primary complaint about most of the products I tried was the SMELL...or, more specifically the Odor of the products. It's a similar kind of motor oil smell in many of the brands. Not pleasant... and actually kind of nauseating. Sorry. So, last but not least I ended up back at the Clinique area and tried this foundation. After I narrowed down the shade (there are many) and noticed the missing weird smell,..I discovered a nice, natural, buildable medium coverage and a luminous but not shiny finish. Also, the smallish squeeze bottle with the little tip dispenser makes for a very controllable delivery of product. Unlike what you get with a wand or worse, those squeezable tubes with the sponge! I hate those! Anyway I made my choice and my purchase and am very pleased. I would reccomend this product.
I have been using this foundation for over a year now and occasionally have tried others like lancome, fenty, covergirl, too faced, and neutrogena, and absolutely nothing compares to this foundation. It is the perfect natural finish coverage, with no patchiness. It allows your natural glow to shine through and leaves your skin looking very moisturized and healthy. It is soothing on my acne prone skin. It is buildable, from light to medium coverage, but always does a good job covering my acne without making it look crusty. I almost never use concealer. As someone with pale skin, it's hard to find a color match. Usually it either makes me look like a ghost, or it's too orange/peachy. OMG! I have to be totally honest here… I’ve purchased this twice in the past three years or so… I always returned it. I could not get it to look right; it emphasized lines and wrinkles and was not looking good on my face whatsoever! Well, I have been searching for another foundation for two years and I have been through probably 30 different foundations… So after speaking with the Sephora employee, she was telling me that more often than not with the Clinique, it’s user error and not the actual foundation! She made sure to tell me to only use a little bit at a time… I thought I would try it again out of total desperation in my search for the perfect foundation. I am overly joyed and I am just in awe of the beauty of the look of this foundation. Are used probably 3P sized drops on each cheek and started to blend and that's basically all I needed! If there were a lot of freckles are age spots on my cheeks, that I wanted a little more coverage, I took just one or two drops and applied it over my cheeks with the beauty blender. I did also pick up some Bobby Brown pressed powder that I put on top not a whole lot, it's just padded enough in, and my skin is not smooth at all, without any make up on it! My husband even commented that my face looked absolutely wonderful, and wanted to know what I changed! I am telling you, please, if you have not tried this, give it another shot and don't use a whole lot! I'm 55 and I have severe health issues, so the only thing that I have that I can do is my make up and I do that every day, unless I am very very ill and cannot do so.It makes me feel pretty when I still do my make up and I'm always in search for that perfect one… I hope, and I think that I found it! This foundation truly is, more than beautiful! My skin is so dry that I never use powder, but I had the BB pressed powder I got an ipsy bag and I thought I would try it… Together along with my Smashbox photo finish primer I'm great! I also must make sure to note to tell y
this foundation is a good foundation however it was hard for me to find my shade and I noticed that it can be a little oily. overall the foundation isn't bad but it is pricy. I would recomend the juvias place I am magic radiance foundation over this because the shade range is better, easy to find match and seems to be somewhat of a dupe for this foundation with many skin care benefits and is a better price with more product. The only downside is that the product has cherries in it which is really good for the skin but you can smell it and may be strong for some people. But otherwise the foundation seems to be amazing and a better price point that this one.
