I absolutely adore these shoes. I broke my ankle almost two years ago and have screws and plates in my right foot. This means I have to be mindful of how shoes fit, since there’s a nub from the screw that rubs against stuff if not careful. These come up a bit higher but don’t hit that spot, so this is a plus. They add major stability to the ankles since they are a higher rise boot.I mowed in them this past weekend, and these shoes are a life changer. My backyard is very uneven and spots dug up from dogs, so usually scared about tripping. Stepped into one of the holes and these kept the ankles from rolling and giving way. Very lightweight, even though they don’t look like it. Feet also did not get hot. The insoles conform to the feet perfectly and long walks/hikes ... MoreI absolutely adore these shoes. Perfect shoe.Oh, before I forget. Usually a size 10, but got these in a 10.5 and “chefs kids”. This’ll be perfect for fall when wanting to wear thicker socks. The size up isn’t majorly noticeable.

No one does out of the box comfort like Merrell! I did a challenging 8km hike on the first day without a sore spot or blister. This is my second pair of MOABs, I love them. My last pair were a fabulous light blue, my favourite. This pair is charcoal with teal accents. I know black, brown and/or grey boots don’t show the dirt but those colours don’t out a smile on my face either. I am not a fan of Merrell’s treads, I do NOT find them to be grippy. I exercise caution encountering wet surfaces. Otherwise, these boots rock!

So I bought these on sale after considering a few different boots. I wanted something a bit more aggressive than my merrell Eries. I regret to say that while these boots are decent, they don't really live up to their hype.First the pros: They are very comfortable, and they accommodate an orthotic well, and have good trail isolation. Like I can walk over jagged rocks and not really feel much. They are also pretty waterproof from what I can tell, but I haven't used them in the winter yet.The cons: they don't really have good ankle support, for the price and weight, the boot could be higher. They also feel somewhat clunky on the trail. But the worst con...they are bad in mud. The tread on them is so busy that you can barely shed the mud you might pick up, on top of ... MoreSo I bought these on sale after considering a few different boots. Its a boot. It will do you fine. But don't get them at full price.

This pair was a Christmas gift, bought yesterday, 12/17/22. I wore them all day today, just took them off. I LOVE THEM!! I am already thinking about buying another pair in a different color lol. I found them extremely comfortable, definitely waterproof since I was outside today in the snow quite a bit. My feet never got cold. I am 58 years old, they did great on the ice. Looking forward to some deer hunting after Christmas while wearing these boots. No break in needed, great right out of the box. True to size, plenty of room in a medium width for a heavy sock. No, I do not have skinny feet. Thank you for such a great boot! I also received moab 3 shoe yesterday, I love them too ❤️
I’ve worn Merrell boots for the past 10 years without any issues. However, I’m incredibly disappointed in how uncomfortable these boots are and the total lack of performance and support on challenging rugged trails. I’ve worn them day hiking on several rocky mountain trails in the PNW, and consistently my feet are left covered in blisters, sore and aching for days after (not exaggerating). Super unsupportive, lack any cushion, seams in uncomfortable places, and no arch support. (Oddly the foot bed is raised in the heel and ball areas of the foot.) I ordered another pair thinking I had received a defective product, but that’s just how the boots fit. I’ve also worn the boots hiking 5 times now thinking they just needed to be broken in, but the only difference is that ... MoreI’ve worn Merrell boots for the past 10 years without any issues. I ordered another pair thinking I had received a defective product, but that’s just how the boots fit. I’ve also worn the boots hiking 5 times now thinking they just needed to be broken in, but the only difference is that I now understand the definition of insanity. Really disappointed because of my past positive experience with merrell products. Can’t return the boots either now that they’re worn. Super unfortunate that these just don’t work for me, as a serious hiker who prefers challenging trails. On a positive note, the boots are waterproof, the sole is very grippy, and the color/style are attractive. Fit is tts.
I purchased these in July and finally got to test out how waterproof they are on a rainy 8.5 mile long hike in the Catskills. Unfortunately, these only lasted about 3 hours before my feet were soaked.I have been struggling to find a pair of wide boots that actually fit me; regular width boots don't leave enough room for my pinky toes to not suffer blisters. These were really bulky around the toe box. There was too much vertical space so I needed to lace them tightly to counteract.I wish I could return them, but I don't know if that is possible at this point.
The boots themselves are GREAT. However I don't feel any boot should be sold with the upper boot hooks. I have had this incident happen on a couple of occasions and another occasion on Mother's Day I took the hardest fall. I was going on a casual hike with my family. I did not take my trekking poles. As I was walking the lace of one of my boots got caught in the hook of the other boot and down I went, very hard and very fast. This needs to be designed differently. Not everyone likes to wear gators. A hiking boot should be designed with comfort and safety in mind. I am fortunate I did not break anything but, I sure am sore. I would like the boot to be a little less thick but not at the expense of sacrificing comfort. Please take away the boot hook.
I absolutely love these Women’s Merrell Moab 3 Mid WP Hiking Shoes, Granite! They are extremely comfortable and fit perfectly, even though they are actually wide-width and a half-size up from my normal shoe size. There is no need to “break them in” like other brands I have owned in the past. I’ve already used them for both hiking and biking, but they are versatile enough to be all-purpose. In my opinion, they are a cross between an athletic shoe and a hiking boot, blending the best of both! These are lightweight and softly cushioned as walking shoes for everyday wear, yet supportive and sturdy enough for rough terrain. The mid-rise style gives extra ankle support without rubbing, and they are also waterproof. To be more environmentally friendly, the new construction has been manufactured using recycled materials. Plus, the innovative design includes some ideal features to reduce moisture and debris while absorbing shock and adding stability with superior grip and traction. I expect these shoes to last a long time, and I would definitely recommend them to anyone trying to decide what to purchase. This will be the next best-seller for sure!
Try a few sizes at different stores. Why? Here's my experience: I wanted to get a discount on Merrell's website so my goal was to order online, but before ordering, I decided to try them in-store (not a Merrell store) and the medium size (7.5 - my usual size) fits perfectly and very comfortable; it was like walking on a cloud. I don't have very big feet, but I think my toes are a little bit bigger/wider than the average, and as I said, the fit was perfect. I was like, awesome, but I'd like to try the "wide" size just in case so I ordered the medium size I tried in-store plus the wide size on Merrell's website. Here's what happened: the medium size I tried in the store was not fitting perfectly anymore (my toes were squeezing and I felt a "pressure" above my feet, ... MoreTry a few sizes at different stores. I was like, awesome, but I'd like to try the "wide" size just in case so I ordered the medium size I tried in-store plus the wide size on Merrell's website. Here's what happened: the medium size I tried in the store was not fitting perfectly anymore (my toes were squeezing and I felt a "pressure" above my feet, but not painful though), and the wide size was very comfortable for my toes, but it was too wide for my left ankle (keep in mind that the wide size means that the whole shoe is wider than the standard size including the size of the ankle).I was confused and didn't know what to do so I contacted Merrell's customer service. Based on their answer, I decided to send them back, but first, I decided to go back to the store where I tried the boots for the very first time and guess what, they fitted perfectly... I was confused, again. The seller asked me to bring the boots I ordered online into the store to compare them together. Fun fact: it was the same size and the same colour indicated on the two boxes, but physically, it was not exactly the same colour: the ones I ordered online had a light grey line on the top of the boots and the ones I tried in the store had a dark grey line on the top (see the picture attached), and the batch numbers were different. I email once again customer service, and they told me they had made some changes that can affect the fit.So, in brief, I would recommend going to different places to try these hiking boots. As I said, my toes are a little bit bigger/wider than the average and the standard size, with the darker grey line, is the perfect fit for me - it's a perfect "in-between" between the standard size and the wider size, and they are very comfortable; it's like walking on a cloud! I can't wait to try these boots on a hike! They look good quality.
I have used Merrell products for years and they keep up with me fairly well. These Moab 3 Hiking shoes are not different. I myself prefer this style of boot to protect my ankles when we rock climb. I have tested their waterproofing ability and I am pleasantly surprised. Most shoes are only waterproof up to the laces, these however go over the laces up the the top of the boot! The color pattern is appealing and neutral toned which I like I am not a bold color fan. Merrell sizing is kind of all over in my opinion. I typically wear a standard woman's size 8 and these fit me in a 7.5. My only complaint was when ordering it said W7.5 which I assumed was a woman's size 7.5 however it really meant 7.5 wide width.
