I wear my MJ Lele Kawa with grey lenses daily, so I didn’t need a new pair. I also have the Peahi in bronze lens, which was my first MJ. As time went on I like the Peahi less and less, because the for just wasn’t right after all. Wife got me a gift card for a new pair and I ended up picking these Kanaio Coast up after trying on many at the store. It turns out that the fit of these wraps are much better than Peahi. They look and feel amazing. The lens clarity it perfect in my sunny area. I love that they wrap and provide full protection but somehow they are still very stylish. I recommend that you try on a variety for proper for with the wraps.

I’ve been a Peahi fan with prescriptions for years. Love them.Yesterday I got my first pair of Kanaios. Everything Peahis have given me with less weight on the nose bridge and less pressure behind the ear - something I never even knew was a problem until I tried the KanaioThe blue reflective lenses with my prescription are awesome. The clarity is exceptional and as someone with acute light sensitivity, the lack of any squinting makes all the difference in the world just to be able to be outdoors.

Have had the nose bridge pads pop off multiple times and use krazy glue to re-attach. Left hinge bolt ended up stripped after 2.5 yrs. Even after cleaning the pads on the arms, the glasses slide down my nose when I tip forward.As they originally shipped, the lenses were the clearest I've ever had (in 35+ years of decent sunglasses). And all things considered, they are very resistant to scratches.They pair well with my motorcycle helmet (full shield), and it's easy to forget I have them on when riding.

I love Maui Jim sunglasses and have owned multiple pairs. I loved these when I first got them, but after a few weeks one of the molded nose pieces fell off. I contacted MJ costumer service, sent the glasses back as the nose pieces had to be factory installed, and they ended up sending me a brand new pair. After wearing the new ones for a short time, another nose piece fell off. This seems like a design/manufacturing flaw. MJ has offered to send new nose pieces, which I can superglue on myself and risk voiding the warranty if I get glue on the lenses or frame or mail them back in again. Also, the nose pieces are on back order so who knows how long I’ll be without them this time. These would be a five star pair of sunglasses if they didn’t keep falling apart.
I bought these on vacation (an impulse buy) in the evening and thought that the next day on the beach in full sunlight that I would be blown away by the lenses. My wife’s Maui’s that she’s had a couple of years are great, and I’ve been wanting to get some like hers. Unfortunately, these lenses are absolutely nothing like the ones she has. I see nothing at all special about these lenses and as far as I’m concerned, they look no different than a 15 dollar pair of cheap glasses from Walmart. I couldn’t be more dissatisfied with the quality. The frames appear to be really flimsy in the hinges after having put them on and off a few times. These are far too expensive to not love them. I waited until after my trip to the Moroccan Sahara to write this review. These glasses were perfect. Not only did they effectively shield my eyes from the bright desert light but also from the wind. Other folks were commenting on that "grit" feeling in their eyes but not me. Granted, the sandstorm apparently blew in after we left our desert camp and only goggles would offer more protection in that situation in my opinion. Because of the type of travel I was going to be doing, I did put them in a different case that was hard sided and left the one that was included with them at home.
I bought a pair of Kanaio Coast wrap sunglasses a week ago and am really enjoying them and am happy with the purchase. I got them with the HCL Bronze lenses, and they are great especially for driving. Even with glass lenses (a must for me) they are a perfect fit and lightweight.On a sidenote, I bought them at the MJ retail store in Peoria, IL and it was a great experience with excellent customer service. All styles are available to try on which is a big plus. My wife bought a pair of Kaiwi Channel at the same time.
I have been wearing MJs for over 25 years. I currently have 8 pairs. I am very hard on them and I usually have 2 pairs ready to send back to get the lens replaced. I would highly recommend these glasses. I am in the sun constantly and the lenses really help with eye fatigue and glare. They are very sturdy other than when the fall off of my head and land on a lens which then shatters. This occurs from trying to place them on top of a hat when I go indoors and look up. I am a general contractor so job site visits are a requirement. Just put a spare pair in the truck for this. Love MJ and the entire staff have always been above board and helpful.
These are great glasses, love that I can get them with readers, awesome for fly fishing with fine tippet. This is my third pair. My last pair were tragically destroyed by my son's lab in a momentary lapse of carelessness on my part. They are pretty tough but the nose piece suffers from falling off, and maui has to fix them so they have to be sent back. It's happened twice to me. Otherwise, they're lightweight, fit my face and head perfectly and level, and have excellent clarity and polarization.
