This Lodge dutch oven meets all my expectations! I loved it as soon as I took it out of the box! The shape & color of the pot are so pretty and the quality is apparent. Even before I cooked that bomb chili in it. I'm actually very proud of it. The expense is well worth it but I got a fab deal during Way Days. I was unsure of what size to get because I need it small enough for just me but also big enough for leftovers or company. I bought the 4.5 qt size and it's perfect. I couldn't be happier & highly recommend it!

Love this Dutch oven! It’s my first Dutch Oven ever. So far I cooked a veggie soup in it, first browning the veggies and then adding stock—turned out perfect, much better than similar recipes in my usual stainless stockpot. I got it in the lagoon (teal) color, which is so unique and beautiful. The quality is excellent—the surface is relatively smooth and there are no chips in the enamel. I ordered another one but had to return it because of bumpy/uneven surface issues, but I kept the second one I ordered.

We absolutely love this dutch oven. Yes, we originally wanted Le Creuset…but tried this because of the massive price difference. The difference in quality is not much at all, so unless you are a label snob, go for this Lodge brand. Great quality and value!

After much research, I decided to purchase the Lodge Dutch Oven. I couldn’t justify the high prices for premium brands, so I chose the Lodge since reviews were mostly positive. I am very impressed. I’ve made several breads that have come out perfect. Pork carnitas, excellent! The heat is very evenly distributed and food does not stick terribly. I did have a little residue that I couldn’t get off. When I used it again and washed it, it can put perfectly clean again. This Dutch oven rivals take competitors. You won’t be disappointed.

Only used this Dutch Oven twice, in the oven once then gas stove top. Holds a large meal and stays hot/warm through the duration of the meal. The enamel was easy to clean but the weight may be challenging for some people. I placed towels on the counter to prevent chipping or scratching the granite counter. The weight also makes sliding the Dutch Oven into the oven a bit tricky. The weight is not a surprise as I own other cast iron pans however the size and weight requires the bottom shelf of the fridge. I moved the leftovers into containers instead. I like this Dutch Oven overall but my wife prefers a multilayer stock pot for its weight but cost a bit more.

I am glad I finally bought it. I wasn't sure if I really need it and if it will be a pain to clean and take care of it. It appears it is very good for me when it comes to cooking in the oven and is not hard to maintain (read the manual that comes with the pot). I specifically mentioned "cooking in the oven" before because when it comes to cooking on the stove I don't really see the difference (in my case sometimes it is even worse) then in a regular pan/pot, so except the fact it takes longer and consumes more power, I do not see the benefit in this case. We also bake bread in it, I didn't even realize how nice it is not to bother with a water pan anymore - you just put bread in it, close/open the lid as needed and that's it. I thought it will require much more oil, but actually it doesn't, maybe just a little bit more than usual works ok for me (and I don't eat oily food).I took the red one, 6 quarts. It is big enough (I bake a whole chicken in it without problem) and it looks nice (gives me a cosy feeling). Delivered as scheduled, very good packed, no chips (thanks Wayfair!).

Great Looking Dutch Oven - Love The Lodge Brand
20 January 2020

I received two pots with small imperfections in the exterior enamel before I received the third pot that had no issues. The return process at Target for online items is super efficient and hassle free. I have no complaints there. I took the opportunity while there to look at the enameled pots they offer in store. I feel I made the superior choice by my online selection. Much of the offering at the store was a lower capacity and lower price point. I have owned Lodge items for over twenty years and have confidence in the brand. I have only used my dutch oven twice but it works well, cleans up easily, and looks nice on my stove. The oyster is a classic color. I am very happy with my purchase and I have faith this quality product will last for years. I AM disappointed to be discovering this morning that this item is Made In China. I now see in the specifications area that no Country of Origin is listed. I see China mentioned in the Q&A section. I just googled it to confirm I see on the web that Lodge produces all of their product in the USA except for the Dutch Oven. As a consumer, I consciously avoid Made In China product. I should have been more careful. I would have sprung for the Le Creueset if I had realized that. In the end, my money went to a company that does manufacture in the USA. And, I will rely on Target's stringent safety protocol to ensure this is not a dangerous product (considering I am cooking food in it). I definitely would not have purchased this product if I had realized it came from China. I try to purchase american made as much as possible. I do not trust chinese manufacturing standards for safety.

Impressive!

A long time ago I had a cast iron Dutch oven but was too young to appreciate it and sold it in a garage sale. Nearly 40 years later, I have grown a lot wiser with all these years preparing meals for my family, and even now when they are raising their own families. So....unable to afford, or even appreciate the much more expensive brands, I chose Lodge for several reasons: I have only one other Lodge product, it's a 10" skillet that I absolutely love; my favorite color is blue in my kitchen, and even though still expensive, the price was much more reasonable than those other outrageously priced products that I refused to spend that kind of money on.Today I used it for the first time, I have had it for a few days now. It sat on top of my stove looking just gorgeous, but today was the day to get down to business. I chose to do a simple pot roast, I have prepared many of them over the years and know that sometimes they turn out ok, other times not so much. One day a couple weeks ago I was watching Pioneer Woman, and sure enough, there was a simple pot roast recipe just shouting out my name. I looked it up online and saved it.Following that simple recipe using a chuck roast, I slid the Lodge Dutch oven in the oven and found something else to occupy my time for about 2 hrs. and 45 minutes while I waited for the 2 1/2# roast to do its thing........all I can say is WOW !!!!!!!!!! The pot roast smelled heavenly while cooking, and I even avoided the temptation to peek. This was the most tender, fall-apart, juicy pot roast I have EVER made in all my 63 years. It was flavorful, and the carrots I put in with it were done without being mushy, as well as the onions. I have a slow cooker that I've used with less impressive results. I am so pleased with this purchase, I can hardly wait to use it again and again. I have a small blue enamelware roaster that I used to use since 1975.....never again! Meanwhile, between uses, it will just sit looking all pretty on my stove top!

Incredible Versatility
29 January 2018

Am loving my new Lodge Dutch oven. You can virtually cook anything in these things, including baked goods. I often use it for recipes that actually call for just a 10-12" skillet, and obviously have plenty of extra room. But this makes me think I should maybe get a Lodge skillet as well. Rock-solid durable, attractive & super-versatile. The only downside I can think of is their weight, and I can totally tolerate that in light of all the benefits. I wish I'd bought the red one, instead of the oyster white, because my kitchen is very neutral right now and I could really use some color. But I can honestly say I haven't put this away since getting it. It's been on my stovetop since it arrived, whether in use or not. Highly recommend. PS - made in the USA is a nice bonus ... MoreAm loving my new Lodge Dutch oven. You can virtually cook anything in these things, including baked goods. Off White Dutch Oven Steal
1 July 2020

This is a beautiful dutch oven at a fraction of the cost! When I started making sourdough bread, my husband found this one and it has upped my bread making game. Ever since I started using this pot, my bread rises beautifully and comes out looking great. We've used it to cook stews and clean up is super easy. Just make sure you get all the spots before baking with it so the spots don't get baked on. I love the off white color and it really looks more expensive than it is. We trust the Lodge quality and the size is perfect for one pot meals and larger bread loaves. I wish they made matching ones in smaller sizes too!
