I used to wear vans which wore out in 3 months or less, bought some five ten sleuths and they lasted about a year of solid riding once a week for 5-6hours. Bought these to upgrade the worn sleuths, was going to go with the free rider pros, but some people stated they were too stiff. These are much more ridgid / sturdier than the sleuth, soles are thicker and very sticky on the pedals. Still able to feel the pedals, but very supportive. Padded tongues and toes feel more protected. Haven’t used them long enough to see any signs of wear, but I’m sure they will last longer. Half price with sale, couldn’t be beat. Get yourself a pair

I first purchased these for my son 5 years ago. In that time, they have been beaten and abused, caked with mud, soaked with rain and snow, crashed in, and ridden hard. I have literally left them in a bucket of soap and water for hours and then wrung them out and air dried them more times then I can count. They are still good. They are a bit stained and some of the grip is just starting to wear, so I decided it was time to buy him a new pair for Christmas. I can't recommend these strongly enough. Best shoe out there and worth every penny.

I found Five Ten Freerider Shoes several years ago after deciding to move away from clip-in pedals. I had been riding various forms of clip-in pedals for 20 years, and appreciated the positive connection; however, there are those times when you want out quickly and clip-in systems are not always fast enough. Decided to give flat-sole shoes, and platform pedals another try, and I'm glad I did. I need a wide toebox, which these have, so I can ride comfortably all day if necessary without the "hotfoot" often associated with other bike shoes. These are great, both on, and off, the bike.

Very happy with these shoes, a vast improvement over the old sneakers I had been wearing. I now have much better grip (which I expected) but I also have a significant increase in power transfer (which I was not expecting).I bought a pair a bit larger than my usual (normally size 10, I got the 10.5) as I had seen reviews that they could be a bit small - but this was unnecessary, just get your normal size and it should be fine.In terms of quality, these shoes have been great. I rode in the most appalling rain and mud, hosed the shoes down and left them to dry for 3 days and they are good as new. Admittedly I have not had them for long, but they are performing brilliantly so far.
The shoes are well made and are not too heavy. The first thing that I checked is if they smelled because often these kind of shoes smell like petroleum so there is NO bad smelling at all. My advice regarding sizes choose one size bigger than your usual size. I wear UK 14 or US 15 WIDE so I ordered the EU50 size, the shoes' tag says UK 14.5 but it looks like more a US 14.5 size. They will be fine just I'll have to choose thin sock.
I've had a few pairs of Freeriders and keep buying them so I'd say I pretty much prefer them over any other flat pedal shoe. Comfortable enough to wear all day either on or off the bike yet stiff enough to give good power transfer when pedalling hard.Lots of grip on flat pedals gives you plenty of confidence through the rough stuff and they feel really sticky when climbing both in and out of the saddle. If you manage to lose traction and spin the rear wheel on a climb your feet are not likely to slip off the pedals in these. I did some experimentation with my pedal pins and found I could get away with using much shorter pins than I was used to whilst maintaining the same levels of grip.Sole is hardwearing, upper has protection and reinforcement in all the right ... MoreI've had a few pairs of Freeriders and keep buying them so I'd say I pretty much prefer them over any other flat pedal shoe. The heel padding is not too wide that it rubs on the crank arms excessively and the Achilles cutaway adds a lot of comfort when walking. Not excessively expensive for something that'll last a few years if looked after.Negatives? Not many. They take a while to dry if they get wet so I proofed mine with a technical water repellent to try to reduce this. The footbed feels quite wide for the size that felt best around the ankle for me. I also find my feet tend to sweat a little more than usual in the summer heat if I don't use 100 percent cotton socks in these.Overall pleased with my purchase and I love the Earth green colour scheme. Different but not too flashy to wear casually.
Love these shoes. They stick well to my stamp 7 pedals and they're very comfortable to ride in. Several reviews said they run wide and also to size up a 1/2 size. I agree that they run a little wide but I wish I hadn't sized up a 1/2 size from what I normally wear. I normally wear a 12 1/2 in Hoka's and went with the 13 for the Five Tens. I feel they are a bit big but they still work out just fine... Not so much off that I felt the need to replace.
Great shoes! Love them. They fit well and matched the size guide accordingly. Very sticky with platform pedals and also comfortable enough to wear casually too. The free magazine as an added bonus was a nice gesture too! Super fast delivery to, as always is with Pushys.
Great fit in a 10, I’m usually a 10-10.5 or 44eu. if anything they run a little roomy and wide for size. People say the grips not what it used to be pre-Adidas take over, but to me its the same feeling rubber. Not much cushion underfoot, and no toe protection, but comfortable to be in all day if you appreciate a zero heel rise (feels like no heel rise). Great shoe overall, but you might wanna run an extra innersole to improve comfort
Purchased in November 2021 and received in December, Red/Mesa in size 10 (normally a size 10 in most shoes). I've only really used it for 1 full wet enduro ride. Having come from tradition mid-height skate shoes, these are fairly close to a mid-shoe. I have fairly flat feet and the shoe fit a little narrow in the arch area but toe box is quite spacious. I'm finding that my feet are punching out the arch area of the shoe. Length is fairly accurate however if not a bit on the longer side.I found the grip to be adequate but not great with Composite Deity Compound flats. I struggled with the grip in the middle of the pedal and feet moved around quite a bit more than expected, however it was slightly better than the average skate shoe. Pedal feel was low however the shoe is not quite broken in yet. I'm hoping for a little more flex to better feel the pedals.I knew that the Red/Mesa colour wouldn't stay that way for long and within the first ride the inner side of the shoe was made black from crank rub, mostly on the drive side.Looking forward to a few more rides to get a better feel for these shoes and will try a different set of pedals to see if it makes any difference!
