Color: Buff (2n2), this is a light medium neutral tone that has yellow undertones. Trying to find a color match can be a challenge. If you are lighter complexion, I find it easier. Estée Lauder does have a warm but I find those too pink for my Asian skin tone that runs more yellow. I played around and finally found Buff which works for me perfectly. The color range in the light medium for more olive complexion is a challenge. This is a high end foundation and the price reflects that. The foundation does come in a luxurious slightly frosted glass bottle. There is no pump, but you can purchase one for $10. It is reusable and sometimes you can get a pump for free. It replaces the lid and I do not like the foundation all over the pump. I prefer just the bottle with no pump. The foundation is SPF and scent free.. The scent has a slight paint scent but thankfully no added perfume. I have sensitive skin and this does not bother my skin. The key for flawless application is skincare and a good primer. For more mature dehydrated skin this sinks into my pores of my cheeks and looks pitted and aweful. I had to switch my skincare to give me more hydrated base to get this foundation to look good on my over 40 face. It took me some time and practice to get this to look good on my skin, but it is worth it because the longevity is unlike any foundation. Once it is set into place, it does not move. This is a medium coverage to full coverage foundation depending on your application and amount used. I can get this to full coverage to hide my freckles and hyper pigmentation without looking cakey you can pile this on a spot that you want to hide and it will not look cakey even after 12 hours of wear. This is a matte foundation but it does not dry down, it remains tacky and sticky and requires me to set it with a powder.

When I first tried the Estée Lauder Double Wear Stay-in-Place Foundation, I was looking for a base that would really remain intact throughout a long and varied day. From the first use, I knew that I had found something special. The coverage of this base is impressive. With just one layer, it covers stains, redness and other imperfections without appearing heavy. What I like the most is that you can build the coverage without it looking cakey; that is, you can add more product in areas that need it without compromising the general appearance. The matte finish is perfect if you have oily or combination skin, since it effectively controls the shine. The matte finish is perfect if you have oily or combination skin, since it effectively controls the shine. However, if your skin tends to be dry, it could be a little dry in some areas, so I would recommend preparing the skin well with a moisturizer or a moisturizing makeup base. This is where it really shines. This product promises to last 24 hours, and in my experience, it fulfills that promise. Although I don't usually wear makeup for so long, I have noticed that it remains impeccable even on long and exhausting days. It does not fade or transfer easily, which is a great plus if you are looking for a base that is resistant to moisture and sweat. I have used this makeup on important events and prolonged outings, and I have always felt confident that my skin will look good throughout the day. The texture is surprisingly light for a full coverage base. It slides easily on the skin and mixes well, which makes the application quick and easy. Personally, I prefer to use a brush for a smoother and more uniform application, although I have also achieved good results with a makeup sponge. The formula is quite versatile in terms of application tools. Estée Lauder offers a wide range of shades that adapt to various skin nuances, which is excellent for finding a color that perfectly matches your natural tone. I was impressed by the precision in the range of tones, which makes it easier to find the ideal tone without having to mix several colors. The price is a consideration, since it is a high-end base and can be more expensive compared to other options. However, given the performance and durability, I think the investment is worth it, especially if you are looking for a foundation that withstands the test of time and keeps your skin impeccable.

It is so heartbreaking how Estee Lauder failed their targeted clients for this particular foundation. There was zero competition to the previous version of this foundation in the market when it came to oily skin. Estee Lauder reformulated this foundation and now I'll never give them another dollar of my money. Why would you change something that was perfect to begin with? Without even warning or explanation? They have numerous foundation products for a reason! This foundation was for us, oily skinned people. It dried quickly, leaving a beautiful full coverage, matte finish. It held back 99% of oils from coming through, even during the most scorching summers! It never transferred no mater how much I touched my face. The longest I wore this foundation was 14 straight ... When I tell you my face looked untouched/flawless by the end of the night, I promise you, it's the truth!! The previous version of this foundation was hands down the ONLY foundation I would ever use for countless years because nothing could compare. Now... it's just like every other foundation out there. Buildable medium coverage, demi-matte finish. It doesn't last 3 hours before my whole face is covered in oil. I have to blot & powder literally every 2-3 hours. The slightest touch to the face will remove all layers of makeup. No matter how I prep, what I use to finish & "hold" the makeup look, nothing works. When previously, all I needed was moisturizer, primer, this foundation and the smallest amount of setting powder in the morning and I was good for the entire day. We didn't ask for a change. We didn't need a change. For those with extremely oily skin who never knew the original formula, you are lucky. Its results were unbelievably reliable and long lasting. It was unparalleled to any other product out there. They gave us the perfect product and then ripped it away. Devastating.

I'm still not entirely sold on this makeup. I wore higher end makeup for years, then around COVID, I went back to drugstore and felt perfectly happy with it. But when I saw this was going to be on sale for the Beauty Sale, I decided to treat myself to a higher-end product again. That being said, I have used powder for years, so going back to a liquid foundation took some getting used to. I thought maybe it was cakey because I was a little too heavy handed with my application thanks to not having used liquid in a decade, but even with the smallest amount, I felt that by the time I'd get to the office, I was already starting to look cakey and the product was settling into every line and pore, and it would just get worse as the day went on.I took advantage of the ... I'll see this bottle through to the end but probably won't repurchase. I know they have a powder version, but honestly, the drugstore one I was using beforehand probably performs more or less the same.I also had a very hard time find a good color match. 2w1 is the closest I can get, but sometimes feels simultaneously too light AND too warm. But when I try anything in the 3's, it's way too dark, and even the neutrals in the 2's are too ashy so I'm just kind of stuck.

Very chalky and cake like texture. In 2017 I swore by this foundation. I am a cosmetologist who was once employed by the Salon at ULTA and this was my go to foundation. I have two young kids and hadn't needed a good long wear foundation in a long time. so when I finally had the money and decided, I needed to start taking better care of myself, I was super excited to buy Estee Lauder double wear and I felt like I could trust that it would be the same formula. It's almost as if I am wearing a clay mask and what makes it worse is the longer You wear it the worse it gets by the end of the day my pores on my face look like polkadots full of foundation. This is absolutely terrible. I bought two bottles of two different colors because I I like to have two different colors, one for an indoor activity and one for outdoors because we all know sunlight Studio light or indoor light have different tones. The only reason I give this one star is because the Colors do still match and Estee Lauder has hands-down, the best color matching system I have ever used for myself or my clients. I don't know what they did, but it is very unfortunate that I no longer like this product basically wasted my money.
This is going to be a long and detailed review. I bought this product to replace my current HG. This is my third time trying EL DW in about 3 years. I am still on the fence about it, but I wanted to see if this would help clear my acne. Everyone raves about it so I figured it was something I was doing wrong. Trial and error is key with this product. I have super oily skin with a lot of acne. It takes some time to find an application that works best for your needs. I found that not using a primer, using a brush to apply it and then finishing with a beauty blender to smooth out the brush streaks works best for me. It dries fast, so you have to work in sections and move quick. I apply it almost like paint. Using a BB alone made it too sheer for my liking, even when it ... It dries fast, so you have to work in sections and move quick. I apply it almost like paint. Using a BB alone made it too sheer for my liking, even when it was damp. I have been wearing it about a week and it has only looked cakey once, and that was probably my fault because I think I used too much setting powder or applied it too thick using an incorrect brush application method. Honestly, you can probably get away with no powder. I will say this foundation does not budge once it dries down. It has great coverage and does feel thick and a little sticky when applying but dries down nicely. I do still get oily after 6 hours, but that is longer than any other foundation I've tried. I just keep blotting paper on hand and use it around lunch time. I am genuinely impressed with how well it stays, even after I get oily. I will say that I struggled finding a shade that works for me. I have pretty neutral undertones, but the neutrals were a bit too warm for me. The cool tone is too cool and makes me look ill. I ordered a shade warmer and a shade darker in a sample to see if I need to mix it or just got the wrong shade. I would say this is a 3 star foundation because of the application difficulty but gave it 4 because it is the best staying foundation I have tried (this is my 9th or 10th different foundation try).
I spent weeks figuring out how to love this foundation, which honestly is a bit much, but it really can look beautiful if you get it right. I wouldn’t recommend this as a quick, run-out-the-door foundation, because she’s pretty high maintenance.Finding your exact shade is critical. “Close enough” isn’t good enough with this one. It will settle in your pores in a way that will be really obvious. I was a much deeper shade than I thought I would be. It definitely self-sets a bit lighter than what the liquid looks like. There are a lot of claims out there about how to apply it. Everyone is different but here’s what worked for me:use VERY SMALL AMOUNTS, like start with just what’s in the cap if you’re not feeling confident. Spread it thin with your fingers, spatula ... Everyone is different but here’s what worked for me:use VERY SMALL AMOUNTS, like start with just what’s in the cap if you’re not feeling confident. Spread it thin with your fingers, spatula or a paddle brush in sections. Blend edges as needed. Once finished with a very thin first layer, THEN you can go in and build it with a second layer or spot concealing. Wait to continue complexion work until the final layer has dried completely. Then go back in and do contour, blush, etc. I wouldn’t recommend a lot of baking with this, only VERY light setting if/where needed. All that being said, I am hopeful this will end up being my favorite humid weather, full beat foundation. Best of luck to those of you still working through the process.
This is such a confusing foundation. Some days it looks great. Other days it's a disaster no matter what you do or how you prep. On bad days it shows a ton of texture, stays tacky instead of drying down and slides off in areas. It's very finicky, only looks good under very specific conditions and doesn't play well with a lot of complexion products. Even on the good days, it seems to look better as the day goes on because it needs to absorb some of the oil in your face to not look so dry.It kind of feels like a toxic relationship where I keep trying to use it for the one time it might look good, but in reality, 60-70% of the time I don't feel confident in the way it ends up looking. The shade match is harder than it looks because everything dries down cooler and ... Even as a cool undertone girlie who never feels represented, this range runs really cool or perhaps just unnatural? And it seems like some shades perform better than others? Is it the raw ingredients? Was there a reformulation that hasn't hit all their stock yet?I want to like this so badly because it's the closest to the discontinued BareMinerals BarePro that exists but it still doesn't hold a candle to it. I will keep trying because I now have two bottles of this stuff but it shouldn't be this hard!
