Electro-Voice Powered Speaker 12" 1200W

We bought these powered speakers for our church’s outreach events. We needed dependable speakers that we could set up and tear down quickly every week, and of course, speakers that would push the sound of our funky band out into the neighborhood. We we’re NOT disappointed!These Electro Voice speakers do the trick and then some! Awesome sound quality and power, and best of all, never a problem. No, not one.I’m very happy with this setup. Yes, I would definitely buy them again!

I had researched speakers for a while, and decided the ELX200-12P was the perfect fit for me. They have tons of power, yet are light weight and easy to setup. They offer multiple cable connection options, and have a simple DSP menu and controls. But most of all they sound great and pack a great punch for such a small and light package. The shipment came in only a few days, the speakers were shipped in strong heavy cardboard boxes with additional padding inside, ensuring the products safety in transit. They sounded great, and were shaking my entire house! After testing multiple genres of music, I mounted them on a set of tripod stands i had and listened to them again. Awesome!

Clear Sound and Powerful

I have had a pair of the ELX200-12P speakers for a couple of years but used them primarily as stage monitors. I recently installed these speakers as my mains replacing a pair of DSR115 and was very impressed with the sound quality and the power the ELX200-12P speakers produce. I added two ELX200-10P speakers as monitors and was very pleased. I love the EQ settings that allow you to customize your speaker/sound. I have used/listened to a range of brands and EV is now my favorite brand. I highly recommend the ELX200-10P speakers and EV speakers in general.

Clear as a bell and tough as hell!

These things sound fantastic. Crystal clear and plenty loud. That's to be expected though. I'm writing this review not to rave about the sound quality, but the incredible durability of these speakers. I had one set up on a stand on a rocky river shore for an early independence day celebration when a sudden wind gust blew it over. Probably 5 feet up, face plant on large river rocks banging up the grill and killing the generator I had it tied into. I thought for sure it was done for but got it set back up, genny fired up and she came right back on, clear and loud as ever, just with a battle scar or two! Awesome product I'm an EV fan for life now!

Fan of Electro Voice speakers

I already own the LiveX112 powered PA speakers and the EKX-15SP powered subwoofers. I've been looking for a more compact powered PA speaker for easier transport and decided on the ELX200-10P. Even though they are plastic instead of wood, they are built very well. The plastic is a textured matte finish with rubberized handles on top and side for easy carry. From a sound perspective they easily keep up with the older LiveX112P speakers. Using them in Club mode, full range, 0db configuration the sound was rich, full and warm. My second option was the the ZLX-12P but they are almost the same size as the LiveX112P. Third option was QSC K10.2 but those much more expensive and a bit brighter on the mids and highs than I prefer.

GREAT but.....

i only commented on what i know. i jam in my home studio. i'm sure these speakers would be great in other environments.first the bad stuff.. the really bad stuff.. OMG kinda bad stuff. the handles, the placement of the handles. top, bottom and ONLY one side handle. try carrying these precious AND expensive speakers thru doorways, passageways without clipping and knocking things over. EV (are you listening) PLEASE put one handle on EACH side. so they can easily be carried in a vertical/upright position. top and bottom IS good. but 1/side would be great.now the great stuff.. really really great stuff.i love these ELX200-15Ps.what state can i move to so i can marry these speakers?i had 2 behringer stacks. 1 stack/channel. b115d sitting on a b1800d. the b115d's ... Morei only commented on what i know. i jam in my home studio. i'm sure these speakers would be great in other environments.first the bad stuff.. the really bad stuff.. Great Speaker

I use speakers for various venues from indoors to outdoors and various crowd sizes mainly for vocal reproduction. Previously used 2 Bose L1 Model II for events that sounded great in certain indoor spaces but required significant more setup and didn't have enough volume throw in several situations. I stopped by the SweetWater store and sound checked the different speakers and was blown away at the clarity from these EV's. Now two months later and the Bose system will be leaving. Awesome clarity, rich sound and built in DSP for simplicity of use. Terrific quality from build durability to sound.

Gone are the days lugging around passive boxes and bulky racks of power amps, conditioners, and other gear to get it to sound great. These feature a 1200 watt Class D amp and some killer built in DSP (EQ, Crossovers, and presets) to get it dialed in perfectly in just about any situation. These can be used flyed, on stands, or as wedges so they can be utilized in a lot of applications. With an output SPL of 130dB and excellent clean sound across the whole spectrum these would be useful for many settings. Review of ELX200-15P 15 2-way Powered Speaker

The speakers are great - loads of range and power as well as ease of connection - e.g. Used just one outside for an acoustic gig (voice/mic and acoustic-electric guitar). No mixer needed and the sound came across well I thought - Didn't need to turn it right up, which is the idea really, as I wanted speakers that could deal easily with the range/volume.Fitted covers aren't very thick but appear well made and quick to place over speakers without need to lift (they don't go over the bottom) with cut outs for handles - nice touch. Worth it to protect the investment!

These Guys Are Top Notch

I've now bought 3 different powered speakers from ProAudioStar (this ELX200-12P, as well as a second one and an EKX-15SP from their Reverb page), and all 3 of them arrived safely with no issues. In addition, they all were thoroughly tested and work as they should. Great, reliable sellers! The speaker in particular is a bit of a sleeper. For the money, the ELX200-12P is probably one of the best values out there for a 12" powered speaker (if the built-in DSP isn't your thing, take a look at the Yamaha DBR12; almost as good as the old QSC K12 but a fair bit cheaper). If you're on a budget, this is a BIG and worthwhile step up from EV's ZLX-12P (which is itself pretty good).
