This is a beautiful machine, that I have wanted for a long time, but could not purchase due to other items I needed more. Finally, the sale price and my Baker's Rewards points were enough to pull the trigger and order it. (Yea!) This machine makes wonderfully large waffles, two at a time. There is no guessing at the amount of batter to use as it comes with a batter scoop that doles out just the right amount. No more cleaning dripping batter off the side of your machine or on the counters. No more half-filled waffles. And best of all, this scoop comes with hanging nubs attached to the side of it that allows the scoop to hang off the side of your bowl and NOT get lost down in the batter bowl. This machine has 5 heat levels, to get your waffles cooked to perfection. It comes with a recipe book/instruction book that gives you lots of options for tasty, yummy waffles too. The recipes in this book are easy to use and usually make 8 large waffles in a batch. As there are only two of us here, I cook all 8, then package and freeze the remaining waffles for another breakfast. The waffles freeze amazing well and reheat easily in either a microwave or a toaster oven. Note: they are too large for a normal toaster. Clean-up is also a breeze as I just let it cool and wipe it down with a damp cloth.

I am not impressed with this product. I had an earlier version of the Double Flip Belgian Waffle Maker and used it for years. However, the waffles started to not be fully baked around edges on the second waffle. I decided that maybe I needed to get a new Double Flip Belgian Waffle Maker, summarizing that I had worn out the old one. My husband purchased this new Double Belgian Waffle Baker for me at Christmas. I noticed that some of the features I liked about my old waffle baker had changed: no longer had a On/Off switch; no longer had a dial for choosing the cooking level of the waffle (instead the new one has a slide bar). As it turns out, after using the new baker several times, I find the waffles do not fully bake around the edges and the waffle comes out flat ...Ā MoreI am not impressed with this product. Always wanted a waffle maker for kitchen. Finally settled on the double flip Belgian Waffle Maker. To test this appliance I made 3 recipes from the enclosed appliance booklet: the buttermilk waffles, chocolate waffles, and the overnight yeasted waffles. Must say the yeasted waffles were the best. But the buttermilk (served with creamed chicken) and chocolate (served with strawberries and whipped cream) were very good too. Froze the waffles and reheated in toaster oven. Good results. Would have given 5 star rating but still trying to gauge heat setting for crispness and overall golden color.
I was using an older single Belgian Waffle maker that my daughter got me as a Christmas gift some years ago. I splurged and got this one a few weeks ago. This Cuisinart leaves that one in the dust. First, now when I make waffles my husband & I can eat together in stead of eating in shifts like with the single waffle maker! Secondly, the Cuisinart bakes up the double waffles in much less time - and these are pretty waffles, too, very evenly browned and in record time. I waited to get it on sale though - I never pay āfull priceā for anything if I can keep from it. Iām very satisfied with this double waffle maker. I think you will be, too! This would be your best bet to make waffles quickly if you have guests for breakfast. I have several Cuisinart products: toaster, blender, cookware to name a few and now this double waffle maker. Cuisinart has good warranties on their products - but Iāve yet to ever have to use one of them.
I actually just reviewed this waffle maker on Amazon. I used it for the first time recently and it worked like a charm. I forgot to oil the plates but the waffles did not stick. I put the browning control position at about the middle but I know with waffles that you should wait for the steam to slow or finish. I was so pleased to get two perfect waffles in quick succession. The color was perfect on both sides and the waffles were easy to remove from the plates. I've had two other single waffle makers and an old flat one that made four flat waffles. The first two were not Belgian style waffles. The last one was a single and it did not work well. The first waffle was always terrible with a flat and pale colored second side plus it leaked out and wouldn't close ...Ā MoreI actually just reviewed this waffle maker on Amazon. The first two were not Belgian style waffles. The last one was a single and it did not work well. The first waffle was always terrible with a flat and pale colored second side plus it leaked out and wouldn't close properly more than half of the time. The Cuisinart worked so well on first try. No wasted first waffle, no mess and when finished and cooled down it was so easy to clean the very minimal drips on the sides. I usually make waffles when I have guests so the double waffle maker was on my wish list for a while and I've always had good luck with Cuisinart products. Well, this was another WIN! Looks like I'll be making waffles more often, guests or not.
Very happy with this waffle maker. It's more substantial than many of the lesser priced competitors and seems to cook the waffles better - more evenly and consistently. The abiltity to choose degree of browness/crisp is a big plus. Also, with this one the light tells you both when to add batter and when the waffle is done. No need to try to guess which one has "stopped steaming" as with many of the others. Also, unlike others, you don't need oven mitts to turn the waffles. Comes with recipes in the manual, which I have yet to try. I use a different yeast-based recipe and have light, fluffy results every time.
So, I had the Cuisinart upright waffle maker and while that made good waffles it was a pain to do anything but straight waffle mix. So, I relented and got this, and I'm so glad I did. I can add flavour chips, sugar nibs with ease and man oh man does it make lovely thick bouncy waffles! My only issue is cleaning, removable plates would have been a huge plus here. For clean-up I'll use a soft scrubby brush to get the burnt sugar, choc &c off (if it doesn't pick right off) then I have to towel dry getting into all the nooks & crannies. Don't get me wrong it cleans up easy enough, nothing sticks, it's just hard to remove what little water sits in it without awkwardly tipping & holding it over the sink. But that would not stop me buying another.
We purchased the Belgian waffle maker to replace our old one and it works great. When serving directly from the waffle maker, we use it on the higher setting so our waffles are nice and crisp on the outside and will stand up to syrup without getting soggy. If we have extra batter, we make them on a lighter setting so we can freeze them and then put them in the toaster to heat them up for breakfast on another day (or to send home with the grandkids š). Try putting leftover turkey or chicken stuffing in it, then when ready to serve, cover it with a few slices of meat and top with hot gravy - yummm. It is easy to use and easy to clean. We received no compensation to review this product. We liked it so well, we bought two more and gave them as gifts.
