Best waffle maker ever! Well worth the price.

This is my 1st waffle maker & I cringed at the price, even though it was on sale. I don't spend over $100 on any kitchen gadget but this one has proven it's totally worth it. The BIG DEAL is that the waffle plates are removeable! That makes clean up so dang easy! Plus it comes with pancake plates which work great too! Once you mix up your batter, (Belgian waffle batter's best) you turn the unit on, set the temp & wait for a beep saying it's ready. Be careful not to over-pour batter on the plates. Leave about 1 inch of space for the batter to expand out to the edges. I've over-poured a couple times & it's slightly messy. The maker will beep when the waffles are done. Again, it's more of an art than science to get the waffles to the doneness you want. If they're not ... MoreThis is my 1st waffle maker & I cringed at the price, even though it was on sale. I accidentally touched it to move the unit & learned how hot it was. Won't be doing that again. Overall, this is the best waffle maker for the money that BestBuy sells. It's not the most expensive one but has the best features & is caveman simple.

This is a great waffle maker, Quality built, sleek and easy to clean. Understandable instructions included. The baked waffle has deep Belgian pleats. I set it to 5 for baking my waffle. I'm overall very pleased with this iron.So why the 4 stars: The bottom side of the waffle is much darker than the top, so the bottom iron is hotter than the top. It takes 5 (longer) full minutes to warm and another 5 after the batter is poured in and top closed to bake the meal. The beep at completion is very slight, must be at the machine to hear the tiny beep. (does have a bright done light, too)

Got it for the removable plates,

Love that the plates are removable. They also have a non-stick finish so are very easy to clean. I DO follow the instructions and spray with shortening before each use.Seems to take a little longer to cook than the one it replaces, but that is not a problem. I was totally unable to find out how many watts it is. either on the BB site, OR on the manufacturer's sight...disappointing. You would think such basic information would be readily available, as it is on most competitors.I would buy it again.

Great "Breakfast Central" Appliance
14 January 2023

I really love this appliance. Took a few points off because I don't like the plastic smell when it's heating up. Wish the company would make ceramic SAFE inserts to purchase and replace the ones that came with it. Otherwise it's a really useful appliance and makes perfectly round eggs with ham to put on a bagel. Also perfect pancakes. The waffle iron takes a little getting used to when pouring mix in.I love that the plates are dishwashable 👍

Long Time to Heat
27 December 2022

It makes great waffles, but does not cook them as quickly as our previous waffle iron. Unfortunately I could not find the same Cusinart waffle iron (round and rotates) we had at a reasonable price. Still it makes good waffles. I just prefer the round ones over the square style as the round ones are thicker. I hope this one’s lasts as many years as the previous one did.

Love it
19 April 2023

This replaced another Cuisinart waffle maker. I'm so glad I bought this one. It's light weight and a little flimsy, but that's okay because it makes perfect waffles and pancakes. I love how you can take out the iron's and wash them. My old one I couldn't do that. Shipping was fast. Arrived well packed. I definitely would recommend this.

Review after 2+ years of regular use
14 April 2022

I've had this waffle maker for about 2 years and it's been used every week for our Waffle Wednesday, so I think I'm in a pretty good place to give this a proper review. The reason I bought this in the first place is because of 1. the removable plates, and 2. it was a "Belgian" waffle maker (as in, it makes thick waffles, not thin like Eggos). The removable plates were a good idea, but I would never put the plates in the dishwasher, because the back of the plate looks unfinished with exposed heating elements. It is convenient to wash them in the sink, but I've noticed some sticking when I washed them regularly, so now I'm back to wiping them down with paper towel after every use. This waffle maker makes waffles that are definitely thicker than "American" styled ... MoreI've had this waffle maker for about 2 years and it's been used every week for our Waffle Wednesday, so I think I'm in a pretty good place to give this a proper review. This waffle maker makes waffles that are definitely thicker than "American" styled waffles like Eggos, but it's not truly a "Belgian Waffle Maker". It's kind of in between Belgian and American Style, leaning slightly more towards Belgian... if this makes any sense. Also, I don't make Belgian waffles often (referring to yeast-y Belgian waffle doughs), so the American waffle batters I use is too thin that it doesn't really get that rise during the cooking process. This is not the fault of the machine, but really the batter that I use. I wanted to mention this, because I saw some comments below that talked about this issue - it's the batter, not the machine! With that said, I don't think this waffle is neither spectacular nor trash. It does what it does, make waffles, and it heats the whole plate pretty evenly. The reason why I'm not raving about this being the last waffle maker you'll ever own, is because over the last couple of years of regular use, I've noticed the heating getting weaker starting only a few months into using this machine. I started out using this on setting 3, but when that wasn't getting hot enough anymore, I switched it up to 4, and as of this week, we're up to 5. The first waffle comes out the best. I brush on canola oil to the plate before every batter, and the first time when I heat up the waffle maker, it gets pretty hot that the waffle comes out nice and crispy. Waffles after the first batch starts to come out lighter and as my toddler calls it "floppy and squishy" - even if I let it heat up in between batters and keep the batter in longer. So I'm now looking for a new waffle maker. It stores well, you can also store it upright. But I'd like it if there was a built-in cord management.

SLOW to Make waffles
29 December 2022

This Cuisinart waffle maker with the removable plates is very slow in comparison to the Cuisinart standard waffle maker that costs $30 less. Don’t buy this waffle iron if you have a family who likes to eat waffles. So so slow. The alarm is a nice feature- yes. The removable plates are are a nice feature- yes. BUT I’ve never had a waffle iron takes so long to cook 1 waffle. If you plan on cooking a batch of waffles, don’t buy this one. - or you’ll be as disappointed as I am.

Uncharacteristically Cheaply Made for a Cuisinart
4 January 2022

I was looking forward to getting a nice Belgian waffle maker, and with it being the Cuisinart brand and stellar reviews it seemed like an easy decision to purchase this waffle maker. Had I been able to find it available in-store I never would have purchased it. While some may appreciate how light this waffle maker is, to me it seems like it is made with cheap materials- nothing like any other Cuisinart product I've owned. It does what it was designed to do, albeit not the traditional big, thick Belgian waffles most people are familiar with. This item makes four small waffles about a half inch thick. It's simply not worth the higher and typically worth it Cuisinart price tag.

Well-made and makes great waffles
26 February 2022

This is my first waffle make, so I wanted to make sure I bought one with good reviews and a reputable company like Cuisinart. This waffle maker did not disappoint. It's super easy to use. Turn it on - wait a couple of minutes for it to reach the desired (programmed) temperature - it then beeps to let you know that it's ready - pour your batter, and after a few minutes (5-7 min.) your waffles are done. They come out golden brown, nice and soft and a little crispy on the outside.I never thought I would like to make my own Belgian waffles at home, but BOY are these good! No more frozen waffles for me.It's a good size: not too big or small. It fits nicely in a cupboard with chord wrapped.I recommend this product.
