I recently purchased a Yumbox to replace a Yumbox that broke. It’s November 2024 and the box that just broke was purchased in February 2016. It was used on a daily basis for lunches at school for the entire time we had it. Super durable!!! Can’t beat the value with anything else out on the market. Spent $30 and it lasted for 8 years!!! Also, it’s awesome to see that after 8 years, the price is the same.

Bento box is very good. I pack the child's lunch for the next day and in the morning everything is in as if I had prepared it then. Everything stays connected. The box closes really well, nothing spills out, even if we have yogurt inside. I recommend!!! (Automatically translated by DeepL)

I bought the kids size bento box. And in retrospect I should’ve bought the sandwich size. The compartments in this one are much too small to fit any reasonable amount of food. If I pack a sandwich, I have to sit on the top. It works out fine, but for the type of food that we pack this is not terribly practical. It is very cute, however, and my daughter really likes the mermaids.

I do really like the lunchbox however bought one for my 2y old for kindy and it is so small that I have to pack everything in perfectly in order to get enough food in for him. It ends up in a mess ant the end of the day with everything mixed together as compartments so small. Also can’t fit a yoghurt or baby food pouch. Have just had to spend another $50 to replace it with a bbox.
These are brilliant lunchboxes. The different compartments keep food from mixing including softer things such as hummus and cream cheese. The first one I bought a few months ago is still perfect after rigorous testing by my five year-old at school. I’ve just taken one point off as they are definitely expensive!
I’m so obsessed with the color. It’s the perfect pink. We also love how many different compartments it has, and how it says what each section is used for helps teach my little importance of a balanced meal. The compartments are the perfect size not too big not too small. And definitely leak proof we have sent yogurt multiple times.
I've been a loyal Yumbox since my first started preschool over 8 years ago, they are simply the best. Three kids later we still only use Yumbox. They are great quality, do NOT leak, survive daily washes and tosses around in backpacks and we absolutely love them. Makes lunch making a breeze!
The yumbox seems faulty. It is very difficult to fit the clear insert into the outer blue part (hinged box). I think it may be that the inner clear part was made slightly too big for the outer case? However the hinge seems very stiff to close too. Therefore the outer part is under strain when I try to close it & springs back open a fair way if I close it over but don’t force it to latch closed. My son therefore often doesn’t close it properly after lunch time & we end up with a mess inside his lunch bag by the end of the school day. I am also worried that it is going to break prematurely if I keep forcing it closed.I have another previous yumbox which isn’t like this & work perfectly. The two pieces on that version seem to fit together quite easily & I don’t have ... MoreThe yumbox seems faulty. It is very difficult to fit the clear insert into the outer blue part (hinged box). Good quality but, going by the cup measurements for the capacity of the lunchbox can still be conceiving because you are not pouring cups of rice in every compartment. So, i got decieved and for my 2.5 year old who does not eat much, this is more like a quick snack box. Im a bit upset because of the price. Its a beautiful box. But mine came scratched on both sides curiously but it was in two boxes taped… The tray is so solid and great feeling but the edge is so wide and it would be nice if the space was used for widening the food compartments. I can’t imagine what size the snack box would be if this is so small. Im very sad i should have gotten the tapas or at least panino to give one bigger space without dividers to allow more room.
With my little boy starting big school next year I was keen to find just the right lunchbox for him. As he has autism and can struggle with some self-care activities, it was important to strike the perfect balance with something that was easy to use but also met his needs, which includes sometimes being fussy about his foods. The Yumbox Original Bento Lunch Box is perfect for his needs! It provides ample space for a variety of foods and the tray is a handy reminder for me to balance his lunch in a healthy, considered way. We are getting lots of practice in to fine tune those fine motor skills before he ventures off to school tomorrow but the Yumbox Original has been a hit from the moment it landed on our kitchen counter. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this product ... MoreWith my little boy starting big school next year I was keen to find just the right lunchbox for him.
