Youth to The People Retinal + Niacinamide Youth Serum 30ml

Purchased this as a treat (plus it was on offer!), I usually use Ordinary. And while I love The Ordinary’s Granactive Retinoids, this is BEAUTIFUL. So lightweight, it’s lovely to have a 2-in-1, with the Niacinamide AND Retinal doing their magic. My pigmentation is definitely reduced and I seem to be having less breakouts, and when I do, they’re much less severe and heal much more quickly. I’m early 30s, so not fighting to reduce fine lines and wrinkles (yet!), so this is preventative. But alternated with the The Youth To The People’s Oasis Cactus Serum, which is hydration/hyaluronic acid-based, I’ve got the dream team going on! I'm super picky about texture and residue from my skincare. I was reluctant to buy because reviews were saying, despite how well it works, it stains my pillowcase. I reached out to YTTP and asked how to avoid this, because I really wanted to try it. They said, for the people that claim it stains, they are either using too much at once or not letting it dry and sink in first. It doesn't take long to sink in and I just use the recommended amount. With doing that I don't get any staining at all. My skin is also REALLY sensitive, too sensitive for Tretinoin. So I was looking for an alternative, and I think I've found it!! There is zero irritation, it feels like it's nourishing my skin in fact!! My skin looks and feels amazing. This is a powerhouse product!

On the nights that I use it, I don't use the toner and I added the cactus serum before I put on the superberry oil. My skin is soft and dewy looking with a healthy glow.I've used it for over a month now twice a week with the above routine. I don't use the exfoliation scrub on the mornings after I used the retinol, so I just switched that to different days. I also don't use the clay mask on nights that I'm using the serum. So far, I'm really happy with the results.As I started this in winter in the Northeast, sun exposure hasn't been a real issue for me yet. With an inground pool in my backyard and a beach condo in Florida, I'm about to put my sun sensitivity using the serum to the test. I always wear sunscreen, but I'm going to be extra cautious. If I have to, I'll go back to once a week retinol treatments during the summer.I definitely recommend this product. It doesn't take a lot and I've seen great results even on the lines in my neck. I do recommend pairing it with the cactus serum, especially for older, dry or sensitive skin because it really helps lock in moisture.I did receive a travel size of this product in exchange for my honest opinion. I'm not even done with that sample and I've already ordered the full size product just to make sure I don't run out. It's that impressive. If you've wanted to try a retinol and been afraid, look no further; this is gentle yet effective product.
