I'm happy with my guitar. The only thing is that I found some glue on the strings and I had to remove it but it's a great guitar and the sound is awesome. I will recommend this guitar or at least this brand.

I bought this Pacifica for personal use and playing on the worship team in my church. It fits the need and plays well for the mix. The pickups surprised me when I ran it through my pedals, great clean tones and quack. The distortion sound was decent and clean up nice when rolling volume down.

I ordered a used PAC 212VFM, discounted about a third off list price. The guitar I received looked brand new. Only flaws I found were the tone and volume knobs were installed improperly. I used one of the enclosed allen wrenches to remove the knobs and inspect the pot stems, which were fine. The knobs were just not located on the stems properly. I put them back on right and everything was perfect. The action was also too high. I adjusted the bridge settings to get a perfect setup. The guitar now plays fantastic! The Alnico V coils sound great. No need to ever upgrade these. The finish is flawless. The flamed top is stunning. If you have basic tech skills and can make adjustments and repairs on your equipment, then I wouldn't hesitate to buy a used guitar from MF. The guitar I received was just as nice as a new one. I had considered buying a PAC 012 and upgrading it as needed, but I'm glad I invested just a little more money to get the alder body and Alnico V pups. This guitar is perfect as is.

I was getting more into guitar and decided I'd get myself something solid yet affordable to start with as a graduation present. I chose this guitar and I really don't have anything bad to say about it. It has great sound and electronics. Each setting provides a different tone making it a good guitar for all around use. I let my friends play it and they all say it sounds great clean and distorted. On the higher strings it can ring past the nut, but that doesn't come through the pickups. Just a little noise when you're strumming not plugged in. Overall fantastic product, I've haven't had any issues with it yet.

Perhaps I got a dud but this guitar came to me with multiple issues. The biggest problem is a really dead note 12 fret, G string and it's a neck resonance problem, not a fret height or action problem. Adding weight to the headstock actually moves the dead spot down the fretboard. I don't care for the humbucker, it's too bright for this guitar and makes it sound thin.Anyways, this thing is going back. The guitar gets 2 stars but MF gets 5 stars for being so easy to work with and being good about returns and exchanges; and they have almost zero hold times.
I still say that Yamaha has one of the best & consistent QC for guitars and basses. This guitar had better alignment, fret work, finish and general construction than guitars 2-3 x's its cost.The middle and front pups are totally flat sounding, blah. I play clean w just reverb and thumpick w all fingers in picking.I thought by going up a model to this one with 'better' pups that would not be an issue... I didn't buy it for the figured top, but the other upgrades.
Very versatile guitar and a very good guitar for the money. You can go from clean "stratty" tones on the single coils and to dirty but with clarity with its humbucker in the bridge. Plus it has a split coil on the bridge pickup. Love this guitar.
Based upon another review, I believe I purchased the guitar that another reviewer returned. My PAC 212V also had wobbly control knobs. But they are not attached with "coder pins" (this must mean cotter pins) which are used to lock large nuts on axles. Grease the front wheel bearings on a car, and you will be confronted with cotter pins. You don't find such things on guitars. My metal control knobs are attached with small set screws which are easily loosened with a small allen wrench that came with the guitar. I did this and mounted the knobs flush with the surface, and now they function perfectly. There was no problem with the pot stems. The set up was high and the bridge hardware slightly out of adjustment. But all this was easily set right. The discounted guitar I purchased is just like new, flawless and still had the plastic on the pick guard. I got this guitar for just a bit more than a PAC 012. Very happy, wife had multiple questions and people were helpful on all occasions. Took a small amount of tweaking to get rid of some fret noise, but this is to be expected. Now the guitar just needs a more talented person to play it. Will be my first choice when I am shopping again.
I bought this guitar because of Yamaha's reputation for build quality. I was not disappointed. This guitar was flawless out of the box. My friend bought another brand inexpensive guitar and it had uneven frets and would not stay in tune.A 90% elbow 1/4 adapter solved my gripe with the plug location.Musiciansfriend.com has excellent customer service.
