Yamaha LS6 Are Acoustic Electric Guitar - Natural

As with all guitars, a good setup is worth the trouble. All Yamaha guitars need the saddle shaved down a bit and replaced with bone. The Strings are a bit on the heavy side but once Custom Lights were put on... Perfection. You might have to have the Nut filed a bit as well.The finish is A1. The size is perfect for practice , around the house and on trips outdoors.It holds its tone forever. Besides the Saddle, Nut and pins being plastic (not bone) the only other negative would be the beefyness of the neck. I love the 1 3/4" neck but it is a little chunky to the feel. If the neck were like a Taylor... It would be Great.I played many guitars worth thousands more nad always came back to this one. It is truly remarkable.I did sell the guitar recently, thinking I would go for an all solid wood one. But I find myself now on the hunt for another LS6. Worth every penny and then some.Of all the L series, this is by far the best bang for the buck.Great Job.

Aw some guitar. Looks beautiful. Sounds beautiful. Plays wonderful. Has a nice bell chime ring with the highs with complementing full but not boomy lows. This guitar shines the most as a light playing or fingerpicking guitar. Still great for strumming chords but I love the ring when fingerpicking. Inside the guitar has perfectly cut and sanded bracing. Looks and feels and sounds like a top of the line guitar

Didn't really need another guitar but picked this up at a local shop and was really surprised by the tone. Great note articulation (the mahogany back and sides) and responds well to a light touch or a heavier hand. I flat pick and this guitar sounds great under the plectrum. Got it to carry around in the car, etc. Now I like it so much, I'm rethinking the car part (but will carry it anyway, a great guitar to have accessible). The quality of construction belies the low price. I have Martins, Gibsons, Taylors, and a Breedlove. This guitar sits well in that company. I just sold a Takamine EAN60C and am going to use the money to buy the LS16R. I'm sold on the L-series!The case was clearly for a dreadnought. Regardless, this guitar went into a well-padded gig bag and the case was used to house a case-less dreadnought. All good! Oh, and as for the gift part? My lovely wife picked up the tab for our anniversary!
