Woolworths Assorted Celebration Cake 1.2kg

Fantastic Celebration cake. Thank you so much for my Bunch Anniversary Celebration cake. It was a really great cake and for the price point I would honestly consider this for a special Celebration cake to share. I was fortunate enough to be able to eat every single slice. Obviously not in one sitting. I did freeze it and pull out a slice every time I felt like a piece of cake. I really wanted to give the cake a 5 but there where a few technical issues. The banana cake was a little too sweet. The icing made it really hard to finish the piece. The Passion fruit mango would have been so much nicer with out the shaved coconut on the top. (There where 3 pieces of cake with coconut and not everyone likes coconut) The Choc raspberry was one I was really looking forward too ... MoreFantastic Celebration cake. The Passion fruit mango would have been so much nicer with out the shaved coconut on the top. (There where 3 pieces of cake with coconut and not everyone likes coconut) The Choc raspberry was one I was really looking forward too but there was very little raspberry flavour and was being overpowered by the hazelnut flavour in the Choc filling ( although there was no written indication of Hazelnut filling) The Black Forest was a little underwhelming on the cherry flavour. Might have been good to have the flavour through the middle too. As I froze my piece I did notice every single bottom of the cakes was red. The colour had leached through to all the cake slices. Not sure if would have been the same if it wasn’t frozen. ( I didn’t let the cake defrost and refreeze) Also it would be nice to have a divider between each slice just so the flavour of the neighbouring cake doesn’t impart on the next. Even if the price point is slightly higher it is still worth the money. Other wise I completely enjoyed the cake.

Delicious range of flavours. What a delightful Bunch sample to receive. There are so many things to love about this cake. The cake is made up of 10 slices of different flavoured cakes that are diverse enough to suit a range of tastes. All of the flavours were delicious (except the Matcha green tea). Each cake slice was soft and fluffy and fresh. Our family of 4 ate these over a few days and they tasted as fresh a few days later as they did the first day we opened the packaging. The flavour balance is not too weak and not too rich, but just right. Even the Mocha flavoured one, the coffee taste was not as overpowering as I was expecting it to be. We couldn't pick a favourite as we loved them all. Except the Matcha green tea slice which was quite bitter and not sweet ... MoreDelicious range of flavours. Great value at $30 ($3 per slice), as the slices are generous sizes and one slice each was just right for an after dinner dessert treat. I loved the cake slice images on the side of the cardboard sleeve, as it made it easy to match up which flavour was which in the box. Quite high in sugar and fat, but no more than you would expect in a sweet cake product. Packaging is easy to open and the lid reseals easily too. Highly recommend, and would definitely buy again if I had a family occasion or people coming over for afternoon tea. I just hope the Matcha green tea slice gets replaced by another flavour as that one didn't get eaten.

Cake, cake, and more cake. We enjoyed this pretty cake sample. The cake costs $30 and is 1. 2kg. I did have to check on the Woolies website to see which stores stocked this cake as it’s not available in all stores. It is found in the chilled cake section. This is how the cake looked after I slid the cardboard packaging and split open the sturdy plastic covering. One side was already squished in the shop, but this had the longer use by date, so I got that one. There were 2 of these cakes on the shelf and I picked up the one with the longer Best Before date of 18Oct. I bought it on the 11Oct, so that gives plenty of time to enjoy the cake and spread the kilos around and hopefully work it off tooThere are 10 different slices of cakes within the pack. They all sit next to each other, so invariably the matcha and coconut green comes off on its neighbouring slice. The cake presentation is perfect in my eyes . It would look fantastic to take to someone’s house for sharing. I just split the slices between us and we ate it over the week. I kept the cake in the plastic box it came in which made it easy to see how much was left. There’s different and delicious flavoured cake slices inside, including some classics like Hummingbird, Black Forest, and Red Velvet. It is Made in Australia from atleast 81% Australian ingredients. I normally don’t eat too many sweets so did find the cake slices to be sweet but since they were split over many days, I thought that was okay and a good way to enjoy and relish this cake I didn’t eat all of the really sweet icing on top. I think the idea is great and the packaging works. There were some crunchy honeycomb and crispy pieces which I suppose add to the celebration The slices were sweet and the cream frosting was good, the sugar can be reduced though. Thanks for this sample as I’d never buy it for myself. It would be nice if mini cupcakes of the same multi slice cakes were available.

Fun Eating. First a BIG thank you to bunch for a lovely bunch birthday surprise we were all very great full and it came at the right time. We enjoyed this on a camping trip and had just after overcome COVID so the star ratting is high because of circumstances and we can see how this cake could be a real crowd pleaser. This was a real novelty for the kids and between 4 of us and a little baby we shared each piece over our week holiday trying all the different flavours. Every piece had their own distinct flavour and were all very moist. They were all very sweet and the kiddies were bouncy off the trees. The slices were all even, perfectly cut and a decent size too. The price is standard and I think reasonable for 1. 2kg of indulgent cake as it would cost you that at a local bakery. There is a down side for me that is this cake is full of preservatives, I understand but don't like it and we try to avoid. So I took a star off for this but probably would have personally rated this cake a 3 but as I said circumstances and the concept of this cake it does deserve a 4. I would recommended this cake for a novelty, special occasion if you don't mind sugar rush and preservatives. All in moderation they say. Thank you bunch for a great experience but this one probably not a re-purchase for us.

Perfect Birthday/ Celebration Cake! Wow! What a great cake! We used this cake for my Daughter’s Birthday and enjoyed sharing it with extended family. The packaging was a little difficult to get into at first, but other than that everyone who shared the cake loved it. I was asked various questions on where it was from, how much it cost and about the different flavours. My extended family all thought the cake was worth $30. I admit this is a more expensive cake than some would buy from a grocery store, but just one piece of cake at a coffee shop is quite pricey too. This is a fancy, tasty cake, very moist and full of flavour. It looked nice as well. This cake has all different flavours and 10 generous sized pieces. We halved the pieces so we could all try some different flavours. I didn’t try all the flavours obviously but got feedback on everyone’s selections and they all gave them the thumbs up and said they would purchase this cake again. I liked that there was something to suit the whole family’s tastes and everyone had fun choosing which slices to try. We thought it was good that a picture of the different slices was included on the packaging so you could see which was which. Some of the slices looked similar though so a taste test was still needed. The flavours included were Caramel and Hazelnut, Black Forest, Chocolate and Raspberry, Lemon and Coconut, Mango and Passionfruit, Hummingbird, Matcha and Coconut, Mocha, Banana and Caramel and Red Velvet. A very tasty, wonderful celebration cake!

There was much discussion about which slice was the favourite and wildly differing prices were offered when I asked how much people thought it cost. Everyone agreed they'd happily pay the $30 full price for this because at only $3 per slice it's still an absolute bargain. Not as good as my bargain but still very good. It's made in Australia from at least 81% Aussie ingredients and even has 1. 5 health stars so what are you waiting for?! Start celebrating This sublime celebration cake deserves 10 stars @bunchteam I also have a request: Can Mr. Brad Banducci please agree to always have this product in the bakery and to never delete it. I can't recommend this celebration cake highly enough!! Your guests will be as impressed as you will be

The following is a review of each individual slices (based on personal taste and preference). Mango and Passion fruitGood: Fresh and summery taste. Smooth and bright mango custard. Vibrant and tangy passionfruit gel. Surprisingly both elements tasted like the actual fruits. Basic vanilla cake with desiccated coconut carried these flavours. Coconut shavings added a tropical vibe. Bad: The buttercream was not necessary as it was too sweet and heavy which doesn’t tie into the fresh and summery theme. Lemon and CoconutGood: Zingy and fresh lemon flavour of the butter cream and curd which was both not overly sweet. Basic vanilla cake with desiccated coconut made the lemon taste shine further. Added texture from the little white chocolate balls. Overall a very light and fresh tasting cake. HummingbirdGood: Nice spice level and not overly sweet. Walnut pieces added texture and depth. Bad: Too much buttercream. Lacking the taste and moistness of a regular hummingbird cake. MatchaGood: Flavourful and mousse like matcha buttercream which was accentuated by the basic but moist vanilla cake. Bad: Too much matcha buttercream. Personally I don’t like raspberry as they are very tart and overpowers the matcha flavour. Not sure if the desiccated coconut in the cake base goes well with the matcha flavour. Banana and CaramelGood: Distinct banana taste of the cake which was also quite moist. Smooth and sweet caramel was pleasant but kind of overpowered the banana taste. Bad: Too much caramel. Cake base was a little dry. Caramel and HazelnutGood: Flavourful caramel mud cake. Smooth and velvety caramel icing. Crunchy hazelnut pieces and the chocolate drizzle made it taste like a Ferrero Rocher. Bad: Too much icing. Cake was a bit dry. Red VelvetGood: Moist and flavourful cake. Bad: Too much buttercream, which is seriously an understatement. The buttercream was overly sweet and lacked the tang of a regular red velvet cake. Couldn’t really taste the cocoa flavour from the cake rather, it tasted like a vanilla cake with red food colouring. MochaGood: Strong and smooth coffee buttercream – definitely the star of the show. Chocolate coated coffee beans further enhanced the taste and texture. Moist chocolate cakeBad: Too much buttercream. The cake becomes quite rich upon each mouthful. Black ForestGood: Moist chocolate cake that was not too sweet. Cherries – both gel and pieces– added a nice tang that cuts through the richness of the cake. Buttercream was not as heavy as the other ones. Bad: Too much buttercream. With black forest cakes, I am more use to a lighter textured cake base and a cream filling than a buttercream. Chocolate and RaspberryGood: Flavourful, thick and smooth chocolate buttercream. Moist and very chocolatey cake base that wasn’t overly sweet. Bad: Too much buttercream. Personally, I don’t prefer raspberry as it is too tart and is quite overpowering.

Delicious cake samples but not for those with allergies. This Assorted Celebration cake was a very generous sample. Thanks Bunch! Easy to find in my store in the refrigerated cake section although only usually 2 boxes there. It was on special for $23 the previous week but I couldn’t justify having so much cake with few people to share. I collected this sample the following week when I was able to share the love of cake It was priced now at $30 which equals $3 a piece of cake which is reasonable for the type of cake. There were 10 different flavours and it was presented beautifully in a clear plastic box. Unfortunately, these are not recyclable. The 10 flavours are listed and pictured on the cardboard sleeve over the box. The cakes are “ hand finished” so each cake ... MoreDelicious cake samples but not for those with allergies. We thought the taste of the Banana and caramel cake was too artificial. Banana flavouring was used. ‼️Not the type of cake selection for those with allergies. ( Contains Gluten, egg, milk, soybeans, sulphites, tree nuts ( hazelnut, walnuts). May also contain lupin, peanuts, sesame seeds and other tree nuts) ‼️Cakes have been frozen and thawed.

Fantastic!!!! I was surprised and excited to receive this cake as my Bunchversary sample! The cake was hard to find. There were none on the shelf and bakery staff commented how popular and hard to get this item was. At $30 this was probably more than I was willing to try on a whim, but had always been curious to see what this cake was like. Having tried it, I would certainly be far more likely to purchase this again. There were 10 good-sized cake slices to create the illusion of a whole cake. None were very rich or heavy, but rather all were of a light sponge texture of varying flavours. They were all very, very sweet and all were fairly moist (given it is a frozen cake). I could see that this is a cake I would purchase again for a number of occasions, for example if I was having an office morning tea or inviting some of the neighbours over for a coffee - it allows for different flavour preferences. For this sample, everyone in the family wanted to try every flavour. All the flavours were nice, although we decided that had we been blindfolded we would have struggled to identify a few of the flavours, such as mocha and matcha, as they were very subtle. Certainly, some were better than others, as such we decided the lemon and the black forest were our stand-outs. Overall, the majority of the flavour for each slice was in the icing rather than the sponge. Probably what disappointed us was that we can't go and buy just the black forest cake or the lemon cake on its own, it would be great to have some of the most popular flavours also available in a whole cake!

Fresh is best. I received this cake as my bunchiversary gift and I was really excited to give it a try. I waited until a recent family celebration before collecting it so it could be shared amongst the family. This is a fabulous idea for a celebration cake with 10 different slices and flavours. We cut each slice into a couple of pieces so everyone could try more than one flavour. It comes packaged in a clear and sturdy container that can be easily opened and resealed. Unfortunately some of the cream fillings seeped into the neighbouring slices which was disappointing. The worst offender was the matcha and coconut. To avoid this each piece needs to be separated by cellophane. Visually the cake looks fantastic and very inviting but taste-wise it was only average. I ... MoreFresh is best. I managed to pick up a cake that had a long best before date so it had just come out of the freezer. It was both dry and soggy in some slices. Overall I found it to be too sweet. Even the kids thought it was too sweet. The cream was thick and most of us had to scrape at least half of it off. The cake itself was not great quality and, for the chocolate slices at least, it seemed to be the same mixture as used for their smaller bakery cakes. I tried several pieces and there was no clear favourite both with me and my other testers. In most cases the flavouring was so subtle you couldn't taste what was described. We all came to the conclusion that the cake looked much better than it tasted and we wouldn't buy it ourselves. At $30 for a 1. 2 kg cake - or $3 a slice - it's reasonably priced but it needs a lot of work to make it a top seller in my opinion. For us as a family, and when no-one wants to bake a cake, we'll stick to buying our celebration cakes at the Cheesecake Shop. Fresh really is best.
