I have a Dutch Shepherd... need I say more?No one is ever going to make a truly "indestructible" toy that won't break teeth or wear them unnecessarily. There has to be a balance. This Hurley lasted almost 2 weeks with just small chunks out of it, but then I heard it "pop" and my boy had cracked the bulb end of it vertically... Knowing at that point a big chunk could come off and choke him, I tossed it out. (didn't know about the recycling program)But the point is... Don't leave your dog unattended with chew toys. Period. End of story. Don't do it.I have 2 critiques, and one suggestion for experimentation:1.) Sizing: I would personally recommend the Large size for my niece's demonic chihuahuas... Sizing is just ridiculously small, IMO.Why do I say that? Sizing is just ridiculously small, IMO.Why do I say that? Because the bulb end of the Large could easily go down the throat of a medium or large dog... Dogs run and trip occasionally, and if your dog happens to be carrying it by the bulb end (which mine does frequently for some reason) it could easily be jammed down their throats.I would pay more, like 3 times more, for one about 3 times the size. Make them bigger, please!2.) The "fluting" or "cutouts" on the ends... Why??? Granted, it probably makes the product "look prettier", but it just gives an aggressive chewer a place to dig in those canines. I watched my boy hold it with his paws while he mouthed it around a little until he got his teeth into those flutes... That's how he cracked the bulb vertically. (He is used to eating raw food so maybe that has something to do with it... IDK... Still, I can't imagine he's the only one.)Anyway, even with those issues, I'm still buying more of the Hurley, as so far it has held up better than anything else.Just don't leave your dogs unattended with this or ANY chew toy if you have an aggressive chewer.Suggestion: The Jive balls seem to be made out a slightly harder material than the Hurley? If I'm wrong, then never mind... But if I'm right, try making a (much larger) Hurley style toy out of that material. I'd like to see how that turns out.

I have an aggressive chewer - the black, heavy-duty Kong kind of chewer. But, she's an old girl and I had to eliminate harder chew toys like Nylabones and the such to protect her teeth. Looking for something softer but durable was not easy. This toy fits the bill perfectly! She loves it, keeps her chewing and entertained but is safer for her teeth. Would highly recommend!

Finally, my search is over!

After searching far and wide for a dog toy that my mixed breed puppy couldn't destroy in under 30 minutes, my quest is finally over! This Hurley West Paw dog toy is the first and only one that actually does what it's advertised to do and entertains my power chewer while maintaining its integrity. This toy is durable, pliable and after weeks of chewing, virtually devoid of any damage. Forget Bark Box or Bullymake, West Paw dog toys are the only ones that are a match for my power chewer. Thank you, West Paw!

Hand-me-down holds up
14 March 2023

To preface: Zoey destroys EVERYTHING. She only got left alone with nylabones until a friend gave us this hand-me-down. It's an older version but clearly the same toy. I'm happy to have found this posting in case I do ever need to replace it but it's been a year and still intact! She loves having something softer than nylabones in her "unsupervised" toy basket and I love being able to walk away, which I can't do with her supervised-only toys that are destroyed in minutes.

Indestructible?
11 February 2023

Sadly, no. Our Scottie will be 2yo in April. Very aggressive chewer. Lasted about 30 minutes. We watched him closely as we know how hard he is on all toys. Still surprised he tore through this so quickly. Took it away as soon as we saw damage as we didn't want him to swallow any. Any recommendations for something that might work appreciated - Kong not a great choice for him.

Longlasting
23 January 2023

5 stars, definitely a West Paw customer for life. #ChewyTeamRatedWe've had this toy for nearly a year, originally intended for our Husky nephew-pup & our Rottie mix. When we adopted our 6 month old Polish hunting dog in August, it quickly became one of his two favorites that he carries around the house and chews constantly. He is an extremely heavy chewer, and it has survived the last 6 months (he just turned 1 y/o), and just now needs replacing.

My JackChi’s Favorite Toy
21 August 2023

My five lb (also 5mon old) JackChi loves this thing! He has managed to take some bits out with those shark teeth they have as puppies but I’ve managed to get any bits and pieces away from him before he could swallow it. He could chew this toy for hours.Same suggested about possibly listing the product sizes next to the different sizes. Here’s a photo of him, he must have at least three toys at all times and these are his favorites.

Not For This Hounddog
6 January 2023

I was optimistic when this arrived. It seems to be made of way more durable material than many such chew toys, but is clearly still plenty soft to be safe, even for Yorkies.Understand: it may just be Elvis & his specific, special... quirks (🙄🤣). This pup LOVES to chew, yet he couldn't care any less about this thing. Bummer, as I think it would last far longer than most of his toys do. But just because he's not interested doesn't mean your woofer won't be!

Outstanding company and awesome product
14 March 2023

My dogs love these! I have a 9 month old schnoodle, 8 year old morkie and 10 year old Yorkie. They all love them, but the puppy is always running around with one. I had got them the traditional chew bones and they sounded like they were going to break their teeth on them. These are so much better. I also had to do a swap out on one of them because the first one I bought was too big. The company is beyond easy to work with. My whole experience with this company and this product was wonderful.

Tough toy for super jaws!
20 August 2022

I’m darn pleased with West Paw! Our youngest lab is destructo super jaw girl! She cannot chew thru West Paw products :) unlike some competitors products these are not heavy in weight, slightly ply-able, which keeps her interest. She’s particularly fond of this shape. At 55lbs she can easily carry it around and play tuggy w her sister (right in pic w toy). She tends to want to “gum” her toys after dinner. Seems to serve her as evening pacifier, but when she does that w other products, they end up in pieces. She does not seem able to chew thru any of West Paw products. A huge relief for me! (super jaws is left in pic)
