Have grilled turkey burgers, chicken, steak, burgers, eggplant and sweet potatoes. Food came out great, except the turkey burgers. However, cleaning the grill is horrible and takes a long time. It has five parts to remove, bring indoors and vigorously scrub--2 grill plates, grill basin, grease bin and tray. Product instructions advise that you cannot put the grill plates in the dishwasher. The lining to the grill cover is not removable and also difficult to clean. I never add cheese to grilling food anymore as removing the cooked on drippings from the grill liner is like scrubbing tar. My husband will not use the grill--he thinks the cleanup is not worth the trouble and his point is well taken. I would use the grill more if it was easier to clean but do not enjoy ... MoreHave grilled turkey burgers, chicken, steak, burgers, eggplant and sweet potatoes. I bought this for on a condo deck where charcoal and propane grills are prohibited. It's perfect for that situation. I like to use it to sear meat that I had cooked sous vide. However it does not have a griddle available. I bought a third party griddle online that was supposed to fit this grill. It fits but the lid does not completely close when using it. I don't close the lid while searing so it's fine. Would be better if Weber carried a griddle to fit.

This is our second Weber Electric Grill, we gave the first one to a family member and downsized to the Q1400. We love the convenience of not having to refill a propane tank or cleaning up charcoal ashes. We simply plug it in, set it on high and go prepare the meat for grilling. It grills the meat nice and even and takes about the same amount of time as any other grill to cook. Let it cool while we eat and the cleanup is easy. We purchased the stand to mount it on making moving it around so easy. Nice small portable and convenient for our grilling needs.

I have tried at least 4 other electric grills over the past few years and each one of them starts out great for about a month or so--I use them a lot--and then they all begin to lose heat and you cannot count on a consistent initial heat or while you are cooking. Also they don't have the quality standards Weber does and things just start breaking, like the connection to the grill and the quality of the cooking grate makes a BIG difference in how things cook. The Weber starts out HOT and stays that way over time--it drops a little once the "break-in" is done but it is still hot enough to start a fire if you leave it on maximum heat and put some higher fat burgers on--found that out the hard way--turn the heat down a bit if you have a lot of fat in whatever you are ... MoreI have tried at least 4 other electric grills over the past few years and each one of them starts out great for about a month or so--I use them a lot--and then they all begin to lose heat and you cannot count on a consistent initial heat or while you are cooking. I had one that I left when I moved that I had used for over 5 years without a problem--it would still sear a steak. So, with my new condo there was no question and I bought another Weber, this time the smaller one. The last one was the largest size and you could cook a good number of things but the only negative to an electric is you cannot adjust the heat to a section on the grill--with charcoal you can move some of it the the side and with a gas you can turn off a side or reduce the heat to that side--with an electric there is no way to get a cooler area which is why I went for the smaller this time. The smaller has enough area to cook a slab of ribs and add some potatoes at the appropriate time. As I said I owned my first for over 5 years, no problem. This new one I owned for about 11 months and had an issue with the heating element turning off for some reason once it starting getting hot. I called the service line and they indicated it was a problem with the element and not the controller and sent me a new element right away. They were right and I am back to everything working as it should. Weber may cost a little more but I am very pleased with everything and as I said when I had to buy another because of the move I went right back to the Weber, I didn't even think of another. Friends I have recommended it to have also thanked me as they had the same problems I had with others, just didn't work well after a short period of time.
Many, many I started grilling on a Weber “kettle” charcoal grill. Eventually changed to gas and now, in my old age, converted to an electric Weber “Q” grill. Best grilling move I ever made. No more charcoal and lighter fluid and uncertainty. No more heavy gas cylinders and fuel supply uncertainty. Electric grilling on my new Q grill is absolutely great! I’ve had more success than ever before. I love it. Just sorry it took me so long to discover the Weber electric Q grill. It’s terrific!!!!
Great little grille. I had purchased a different grille mostly due to price and was not happy with it. Not enough heat. I finally decided to change and purchase this Weber grille and it is like night and day from the other. No problem getting enough heat to cook steaks and burgers. So far so good and even enough heat when it's a bit cold outside. Very happy so far, good even heat and enough of it. Easy to operate and adjust temperatures as needed, and large enough cooking surface for our needs (couple).
I like my Weber Q1400 electric grill; it’s perfect for my apartment balcony. The heating element failed after 3 weeks, but Weber had my warranty replacement to me in less than a week. The main reason for rating the grill so low has to do with the heating element. The original element heated super hot in the recommended 20 minutes but it failed in a short time. The replacement element heats much slower and is much less hot in 20 minutes. I’m not sure which element is heating properly in 20 minutes but I feel the replacement isn’t right since the grill hardly leaves sear marks after the 20 minute heat up.
Love my new Q1400 Electric Grill. This is my first Weber, and I was so excited to get it. I am not physically able to pick up heavy gas tanks, and I already have a small charcoal grill which is fine for the two of us. I wanted something I could use to grill when it is 110° outside and I don’t feel like messing around with charcoal. The Q1400 fits that bill nicely. It gets really hot and delivers a good sear on food. I purchased a griddle plate as well, and ai can saute veggies while I cook the protein on the grill side. I love it!
I got the electric grill for a birthday present after we moved into a high-rise the did not allow open flames. It was perfect for the situation. I had previously owned a Weber kettle charcoal grill for many years. When I would use the grill, after plugging it in it would shut off and give 1 or 2 error messages. After unplugging and restarting 1, 2, 3 times it would work. Contacted customer support and after several attempts at solutions, a new controller was sent, covered under warranty. However I still have the same problem.Customer Service was diligent in trying to figure out the issue.I also thought it was my electrical supply outlet but that breaker has never tripped when using the grill so don't think that is the issue.I will continue to use my great ... MoreI got the electric grill for a birthday present after we moved into a high-rise the did not allow open flames. My wife and I are fortunate to own three properties and we spend periods of time each year in all three. And we own three Weber Electric Grills. In two locations, condos, we are flame restricted so the electric Weber is the easy solution. In the third, we used the original Weber charcoal grill to much success. Recently, a poor time planning case by the cook,me, led to insufficient heat to complete the job. We had to improvise with the stove. Ordered our new, third, Weber Electric the next day. May still use the old Kettle on occasion but no doubt that the electric will get the bulk of the work.
