Vitamix Classic Tamper
Our story began in 1921 when my great-grandfather was facing challenging economic times that would soon lead to the Great Depression. William Grover Barnard, affectionately known as €œPapa€ to all of us, began travelling the country selling modern kitchen products. It was by helping a friend through his illness that he began connecting the value of whole-food nutrition to health and well-being. Papa changed the name of his business to The Natural Food Institute, and became a pioneer in the health food industry, studying and teaching people everything he knew about food and health. In 1937, Papa was introduced to a new product, the blender. He immediately saw the value of blending to quickly and easily prepare healthy foods that taste delicious. He focused his attention on selling this new product, which my other great-grandfather named the €œVita-Mix,€ because vita means life.

This is a genuine Vitamix product and identical to the original tamper that came with my blender. There are many aftermarket tampers for sale online many of which could be of questionable quality. The price is competitive and the postage cost also very reasonable. It was very very well packaged. Overall, a no fuss purchase.

My family and I have been loyal customers of Vita Mix for 20 years now. We currently have our second blender and reordered a replacement cup due to a crack in the original. The blender cup seems fine, however the tamper stick that came with it, fell apart. The handle part came apart from the stick in the middle of blending, after one month of use!I’m very disappointed with the quality of the newer product. If I had known this, I would have kept the old one.

I bought my first Vitamix over 7 years and when I got it first time shipped the lid was not sticking on properly and the tamper got chipped because the lid went sideways this great company not only sent me a new lid and tamper they sent me a wonderful cookbook for it too. I use my Vitamix daily for smoothies, make nut butters, soups, etc in it and the dry container comes with the one I got I make flours etc in it too. I love my Vitamix and tell people in stores shopping for blenders about the Vitamix and the quality and how long it will last, where ie the Magic Bullet I had prior to the the Vitamix the blades broke twice in them so lost $. So when I discovered the Vitamix and the quality and now how long I have been using it daily . It is perfection!

We bought this tamper to go with the E310 Explorian blender we gifted my husband's parents. It is absolutely needed when making things like peanut butter, tahini or some puree's. It is a little scary to use at first but it cannot touch the blades so have at it! The price might seem steep for a piece of plastic but trust me, you can't live without.
I've made peanut butter three times using my new classic tamper from Vitamix. My advice to anyone who is interested...Follow Vitamix's instructions for making PB and for cleaning! Clean twice or three times and REALLY reduce you clean up time.My peanut butter has a viscosity and appearance very similar to the smooth peanut butter I can purchase bulk at my nearest natural food store. Delicious, too. Note: If you start with raw/un roasted peanuts, be careful not to over roast. Find a recipe (temperature and time) that works for you. Becuz I used slightly over roasted peanuts to make PB and got slightly burnt flavored peanut butter.
First I bought what I thought was a genuine Vitamix tamper on Amazon. It was a knock-off, and pulled apart on the first use. I returned it, and paid the too-high shipping cost to get the real thing from Vitamix. It is an exact duplicate of the one I destroyed in the blades last month, and it appeared to be one piece. Yay! But it - like the one before - has one obvious flaw. It rolls around on the counter too much. So, I took it out to the shop and made one flat spot on the flange by sawing and filing, then sanding. This was perfect! Perfect, at least, until the thing filled with water. Yup, it is two pieces, and when I cut the flange, I apparently cut beyond the glue line, and water was let in. Perfect, at least, until the thing filled with water. Yup, it is two pieces, and when I cut the flange, I apparently cut beyond the glue line, and water was let in. I drained the water, and while pulling it apart to allow the water out, the top popped off the bottom. Bummer. So I glued it together, and all is now well again. But really - can't this thing be made in ONE piece? And can't it have flats on the flange to keep it from rolling? It isn't like we aren't being over-charged for this piece of plastic - so let's at least design it correctly. Please?
We use our Vitamix almost daily for smoothies, coffee blended drinks (my wonderful lady is my barista) and etc. One day I washed the thing and installed it with the flange UNDER THE lid. Bad move. The Mrs. loaded up the blender and proceeded to disintegrate the tamper on the blender blades. So, my bad as I said but please be aware if you put the flange UNDER the lid it puts the lower part of the tamper in the proximity of those uber power blades! I would suggest buying an extra to have "just in case".By the way, my own pretty little Barista is back to mixing those morning concoctions! All is well here at "Wistful Vista's".
If you're like us, from time to time you don't put the lid on your VitaMix and try to use your plunger (apparently some sort of delusion that you won't touch the blades) but you do and your plunger is now full of holes. I've purchased several more expensive VitaMix plungers then I saw this one for a fraction of the cost so I took a gamble. I have been very pleased with these plungers. Plastic shouldn't cost an arm and a leg and these are inexpensive yet very well designed and effective. I really liked the shape of the plunger (different from the VitaMix plunger) which helps move the mix through the blender. Bottom line: BOOM! This plunger is amazing.
I was having some issues with my 12 yr old Vitamix blender and I want to complement the person and the company I dealt with. The woman who helped me with service was knowledgeable and friendly and helpful. She helped me with service on my Vitamix and it was returned good as new within a week! The service was the best I’ve ever had with any on-line company service dept. It shows the company is well managed and the woman took pride in making sure I was happy. What a great company! Vitamix is worth every dollar! You do get what you pay for.
I've had this tamper for years (so it stands the test of time). It works exactly like it should and it can take a beating. Given that it's designed for the 5200 large container, the length is obviously long enough to push food into the blade but short enough so the blade doesn't get shredded. If I were nitpicking and had to find something to say, it would be that when fully depressed into the container so that it's resting on the lid, the vortex of the food pulls the tamper down with a relatively strong sucking force making it a little more difficult to maneuver if you don't have good dexterity. That and it's a bit thick so don't plan on putting it in a container that already houses a lot of other cooking utensils.
