I never loved dynasty warriors / "musou" style games, but Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes has totally captivated my attention and made me rethink my impression of the genre. As the successor to the first Fire Emblem Warriors, and a spin-off of Fire Emblem: Three Houses, it has a ton of value in its story continuation, considerable strides in performance, and core gameplay loop. The hack n' slash mechanics are pretty straightforward in that you will be pressing Y and X a lot. That being said, its action gameplay has a surprising amount of depth in the combo variations of each class / job. It's a fresh "hands on" approach to fire emblems' turn based style RPGs; you will be able to play dozens of familiar characters from Three Houses and customize their loadouts. ... A lot of the game's conversations revolve around every character saying one or two lines along the lines of "we need to be careful" or "we can do this" and it gets old very quickly.A solid effort to bring Three Houses into the Warriors format, but it could have used a bit more time in the oven. Its pretty obvious that they got it out as quickly as they could to make way for Fire Emblem Engage to have the spotlight all to itself. It lacks the abysmal performance issues of Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity, but I think that game was better at its core.

The terrible performance holds this game back, it tries to hit 30 fps, but sadly it cant even do that most of the time. It gets so bad at times it doesnt register button inputs.I understand that the switch isn't powerful by any means especially today,but either this game was not optimized properly for this system or this device is holding the game back. Hyrule warriors definitive edition somehow manages to preform better though so i'm guessing they really just dropped the ball here and sadly said ball just kept managing to roll downhill continuously.I bought this game on a flash sale for only 20 dollars and I still feel badly ripped off.

First time playing anything in the Fire Emblem series. Gameplay is mindless fun. I liked the dynasty warriors game, and this is pretty much the same.But there's so much talking and a lot of cutscenes, which i just skip through. I can totally live without the whole support leveling concept. The UI is a bit of a disaster too so I'm always trying to navigate it.Overall, fun casual game though
