Since Victorinox released the Classic SD Alox in various colors, I felt compelled to buy my favorite colors to add to my ever-expanding collection. And I don't regret it one bit. The Classic SD is the most popular small pocket knife in the world. If you don't already own a Classic SD, I highly recommend you buy the Cellidor version before the Alox because the toothpick and tweezers definitely come in handy. But if you already own a standard Classic SD, and want to expand your collection, then you'll absolutely love the Alox in your favorite color. Great for Keychain

Nice small knife to keep on a key chain for small emergencies or those times when you forget your main EDC (every day carry) knife. I specifically chose the Alox because it is thinner and bit lighter than the typical red cellidor/ABS version and so suits itself to a key chain carry. The thinner scales sacrifices the toothpick and tweezers but I can live with that. Blade is sharp, scissors cut well (given small size). I appreciate that Victorinox replaced the point on the nail file with a small flat screwdriver. Cdn Tire had the best price for this knife - I could not find it cheaper anywhere else. Overall, I'm happy with this knife (quality, practicality, value for money). Lifetime warranty is nice (doesn't cover abuse, small knife does have it's limits).

Great little knife

This is a great knife with lots of functionality from it's small size. I removed the key ring because it's always in the way of the blade and wear it in my poket. I use the loop for the key ring to bend wires and thanks to the alox scales I can use the body of the knive as a cap lifter. The blade is great for small tasks. Scissors are usefull as well as the file slash small flathead. It works on some philips as well.

Great little knife...if they would send the right color.

I would rate this knife higher but shipping directly from Victorinox has been a less than satisfying experience. I ordered the knife in the color Sky High Turquoise but they shipped me Tropical Surf color. It happens sometimes. No big deal. Drive to Target to return and order another online because the color I want isn’t available at the store. Open the second knife once it arrives and they sent me the same exact wrong color again. If you don’t have the one I want in stock, just tell me. I’ve had this type of little knife on my key ring for more than 20 years. I don’t know why shipping the correct color so is difficult. I have to return again, but I doubt I’ll try a third time. The knife is perfectly fine…correct delivery - not so much.

Handy little device

This is a nice looking and handy little device. It is quite small for EDC. It can be carried along with your keys/other EDC items in your pocket etc. The knife works fine for me as I use it to cut and open boxes/letters etc. The small scissor impressed me as I tought it wouldn’t do the job but, it worked well and did what was required. Overall a nice addition to your EDC.

It follows me wherever I go!

I bought this as something to keep on my key chain in an urban setting, with the intention of using it for light duty tasks only. I wouldn't necessarily trust it as my sole knife in an ultralight backpacking situation as others have reviewed with the regular (cellidor) version of this knife, as there is a substantial amount of blade flex vs. fairly soft materials like plastic and cardstock. However, with that in mind, I definitely recommend this item.So far, it's performed wonderfully. The knife is razor sharp out of the box, and has held its edge well against opening a number of plastic blister packs and other odd jobs. The scissors are equally sharp, and well suited for small snipping tasks. The nail file is surprisingly effective as well. The screwdriver tip...well I haven't used it yet, and I don't expect to in the near future. It's kind of a useless, in-between size if you ask me. I would have much preferred the nail cleaner instead of the screwdriver tip (and incidentally, MEC should designate this as the "SD" model in the title).Value-wise, it is somewhat expensive for what you get compared to other knives. But if you don't foresee needing a toothpick or tweezers, and want something lightweight and discrete, this is a classy option for your key chain.

Minimalist yet all the basics

I have carried a Classic SD with Cellidor scales for a while, and loved it. Perfect supplement to whatever main Swiss Army knife you carry, unless you can get by with just this little guy. Unfortunately, it seems to have gone missing after a recent trip to the tundra, so I replaced it with the Alox version. I’ll occasionally miss the scale tools, but it fits nicely in my wallet. Great non threatening pocketknife for light tasks. Keeps the nails nice, too! Really compliments my other Alox models nicely, too.

Wrong item sent, check other reviews

Pretty much unbuyable from Target. They must have product codes mixed up and send wrong color. They at least provided a free return slip or you can take back to store. Check other reviews and see if target or vicotrinox respond that they have fixed the issues.
