Great option for protein after workout. My special recipe in the morning after working out is quite delicious.1 Scoop protein powder1 Chobani almond choco loco yogurt (coconut, plain or vanilla yogurt could replace but the almonds and chocolate are tasty in this mix)1 handful of ice12oz black coffee (dark french roast is my preference)1 splash of milk.Great recovery and start to the morning after working out, get your protein, sugar and caffeine to get you started for the day. Awesome start to going to the mountains to ski.

Great tasting protein that is very good quality. The sodium levels are a bit high at 370mg per serving, so I dropped a star for that. However, the serving size is quite large compared to what I am used to. It's also a bit confusing to compare servings to other brands. FYI, the serving is in weight which is 41 grams, and the volume is 118.5cc for that same serving size. It has 30 grams of protein. Compare this to my previous protein which had 20grams of protein per serving with an actual quaintly 96cc. I am lowering my serving size to drop the sodium down to 300 which is still high but acceptable for me. If I go to that same 96cc, I will be down 18.6% which still gets me 26 grams of protein to go with about 300mg of sodium.

I was brand new to protein powders, but I'm working on upping the protein in my pescetarian diet so I ordered the vega sport protein in peanut butter, chocolate, and vanilla when there was a sale on. My intention was to do breakfast protein shakes. I'm more of a savory person than a sweet person when it comes to breakfast, so I expected the peanut butter would be my favorite because it might have the saltiness I prefer, followed by chocolate because I do tend to be a chocolate lover when given the choice between chocolate or vanilla, and I got vanilla just in case it would blend easily into the background of other mixes. I've been shocked though by my actual preferences. Vanilla is hands down my favorite. It has a cake batter flavor that I just honestly love. The peanut butter and chocolate are fine, but in a blind taste test, I'd never be able to identify them as either of those flavors. Compared with vanilla, their flavors are nowhere near as strong and enjoyable. I notice more of the chalkiness inherent to protein powder with peanut butter and chocolate than I do with vanilla. I also mix it with spinach so the vanilla has the added benefit of taking on a nice green color where the chocolate and peanut butter look muddier and less appetizing. I do a scoop of vanilla, 2 tbsp PB2 Pure, 40 g spinach, half a frozen banana (~ 55g), 1 cup soy milk, 1 tbsp flaxseed meal, 1 tbsp chia seeds, and a sprinkle of cinnamon and I look forward to it every morning. 486 calories, 54 g protein, 17 g fiber, 40 g carbs, 15g fat, 13 g sugar.

I was surprisingly let down by the premium protein powder in comparison to what I had gotten used to over the years for the sport protein. I'm not sure if they changed the formula, but this was not what what I was expecting at all from Vega. (I have been using their Vega sport since the beginning) I purchased the peanut butter flavor and the Berry flavor. The berry used to be my favorite, but this one was extremely gritty (more than what it used to be) and had poor consistency. It used to thicken really nicely and I felt like I was drinking a regular smoothie even though I just had the protein powder and water in there. The peanut butter flavor was so so. I definitely expected a stronger peanut flavor, but it is so subtle, I could have opted for something else ... MoreI was surprisingly let down by the premium protein powder in comparison to what I had gotten used to over the years for the sport protein. I will have to try their regular sport protein again, but the premium one was not worth buying again, in my opinion.
I'm really not a fan of protein powders. Most of them are too sweet, have an artificial flavor (smell and taste like chemicals) and sometimes (specially when referring to plant-based protein powders) they have a granular consistency. However, Vega protein powder has none of these problems. The taste is pretty good (I take the chocolate flavor) and the texture is just perfect. I prepare mine with water, a frozen banana, lots of ice and a tiny bit of cocoa nibs (without sugar), cocoa powder and soluble coffee. It's just perfect! I honestly can wait for the time of the day when I drink my protein shake 😂I'm lactose intolerant and celiac, and I do not have any problems with this product.I would say it's a great option for vegans but also for carnivores as well 😃
Incredibly disappointing.I’ve purchased Vega Sport Protein (chocolate) several times over the past year. However this is my first time buying it directly from the vega website and the powder tested awful. Very different from any other tub I’ve purchased. To add insult to injury I share this feedback with Vega and they said too bad so sad, this is a final sale. I didn’t even ask for a refund I just wanted a product that won’t make me throw up in disgust. Never buying anything from vega again. Terrible customer service
It was good. Didn’t have that really strong stevia taste a lot of plant-based foods have (it was still there, but so much manageable and less present than a competitor I bought that was cheaper). I mixed Vega in with my coffee in the morning for some extra calories (I’m someone trying to gain weight), and sometimes I even mixed it with some vegan hot cocoa. The shipping package itself came banged up, but that’s less of the company’s fault and more the shipping company’s. The product was unharmed, but some stronger cardboard would be nice next time. Overall, tasty product that tastes good with something as simple as hot water. I liked it.
Love the powder, hate the scoop! The protein mix is delicious. I like that it is 30g protein per serving, which makes it really easy to hit my protein goals for the day even on a Veg diet. The flavor is great, and I like the addition of the tart cherry powder as a recovery aid.The drawback is the huge scoop with its tiny handle. The serving size is 1 scoop, which I suppose is convenient rather than the variability introduced from other powders that are 2 scoops per serving, BUT... The scoop is so big it is hard to get my hand in & out of the protein jar with a full scoop, and then it barely fits into the mouth of a standard size shaker. I usually like to tap the scoop on the wall of the shaker to dislodge the powder, but there's hardly any room! And I always, ... MoreLove the powder, hate the scoop! The protein mix is delicious. And I always, always, ALWAYS spill some on the counter, because I just can't be as neat as I'd like with the big scoop. Please Vega, keep up the great plant based protein work. But consider resizing the scoop to make this product easier to use.
They changed the formula again and are using brown rice protein. Honestly, this NOW taste like s***. it's stale smelling and tasting, it doesn't mix as nicely, and I barely get chocolate or vanilla flavor.I've been using this protein powder for about 9 years (religiously) and absolutely loved the Sport Protein for so many reasons, but am thoroughly dissapointed with the new taste. ugh.If i could made a recommendation: PLEASE GO BACK 2 FORMULAS AGO--the one with NO maltodextin? That one was smooth and fluffy when whisked up and had the best flavor and texture (that one was 5 stars 100%)
