My brother and I both bought a Tradie Pack each because of the value for money considering the accessories that you got with them. My brother couldn't wait to use his external speaker microphone, however, I found myself having to constantly ask him to repeat himself after 'every' transmission. When he eventually discarded the external mic the radio actually became reasonably understandable to the point that I had to ask him to repeat himself only a couple of times after that. Also, on both our radios we were very disappointed with the belt clip. The previous model Uniden radios that I purchased, UH078SX, whilst far from perfect in the belt clip department, had a belt clip that had the tip that bent in and then up, so as to grip the belt, or strap, that you clipped ... As previously stated, the radios per-se do actually communicate provided they are used without the accessories. Because of this I've chosen to give only 3 stars.

Does the job!. Sturdy design (fumble fingers family member dropped one on concrete - no scratch), clear sound, cool accessories. Very happy with this purchase.

Great package. It contains everything I required to establish radio communications over very rough conditions. The device works great over 3-4km and it is very tough. I used the devices under rain conditions and where there was no mobile signal. Also used the scrambler and other very useful sound enhancing features.

Tradie Tough - No, they are most certainly not. Drop them once from the smallest of heights and THEY WILL BREAK! Waterproof - NO! One drop of rain onto the mouth piece will see them mouth piece never work again.
Very happy with the units. When hand held they have quite a good range. When I added the car mount aerial the distance and clarity was Great. I would recommend this product.
Woked well in mountainous terrian, maintained battery life well, 3 days use and battery only dropped 1 bar. Easy to use, set up.
Bought these a few weeks ago - they’re not waterproof at all. Dropped one on a work site in a small puddle and it soaked up water like a sponge and predictably doesn’t work any more.
We used this product once, it slip off my belt buckle and cracked, now unable to use. Poor quality for a ‘TRADE QUALITY’ as advertised. We used them for a wedding not as a tradie. Took them back to JB hifi who were no help and said it was our issue and wear and tear. Very disappointing.
A great package deal with ,lots of useful accessories. The radios feel solidly built but not too heavy. They are easy to use.
It was expensive but totally worth it, used it in a convoy to Mt Hotham. Great reception and clarity over great distances during our various hikes in the alpine region. The pack is complete with everything you will ever need from a CB radio.
