Twisted Games by Ana Huang

I bought this book alongside twisted love- the first of the series. The first one was a bit disappointing and it didn’t feel genuine or believable, the main couple just didn’t fit my type butttttt… twisted games went above and beyond. The enemies to lovers, forbidden love, forced proximity and tension just made this book a 5/5. I loved the characters and how (SPOILER!!) the epilogue brought all the couples together- even those that were still in the making! It was the perfect slowish burn which gave exactly what needed to be given. Read this book in two sittings and wish i could reread it for the first time. Gonna buy the last two books just to see rhys and bridget’s cameos ❤️❤️. But yeah- 5/5.

Definitely not as good as the first novel in the series. Perhaps because the author chose to recycle so many catch phrases. Even the descriptive writing is painfully similar to the first novel which made it hard not to compare. The male protagonist had a lot of potential but ended up being a washed out version of the first novel’s protagonist. It wasn’t a bad book by any means but it’s one I’m hesitant to recommend unless you’re running low on options. The whole princess thing was kinda lame too. Maybe for YA it’s okay but as a more mature reader it felt super out of touch.

This slow burn was A+ and worth the investment. The characters were engaging and you were on their side through out. This book balanced the dark and the angst better than previous attempts without compromising the spice. I would recommend trying this book even if you haven't enjoyed previous Huang books
