I have these on 3 bikes and as a spare for a gravel race bike that runs tubeless. I do a lot of big mountains and I like the low weight. Puncture far less than rubber. I live in an agricultural area and metal is everywhere. A downside is that a patch requires 30 minutes to cure. But the patches hold. Over 5 years and thousands of miles I've patched some 2 or 3 times and use as spares. No patch has ever failed.

I've been using these for several thousand km now on my 'best' bikes and they are really impressive. Mainly, because they save about 120 grams of rotating weight, so you really do feel the saving. The ride feel is lovely, even at high pressures. And no faff with sealant etc from tubeless.

These tubes are expensive. But they are very light weight. They are easy to mount on your wheels. They work like latex, without loosing air. After a week my tires lost 5 PSI. They are very smooth. They fold up very small. They take up little room in your pocket or bag as a back up tube. They just cost far more than butyl.. Be aware that you can NOT use valve extensions. 60 millimeter valves work in 50 millimeter rims. Using 60 millimeter rims may present a challenge.

The Tubolito tubes work fine and I appreciate the light weight, but the patches have been a challenge. I had a puncture on the rear tube (brand new Conti tire, 35 miles on it) and patched the tube with the Tubolito patch on the roadside. Held for about 25 miles, then started leaking. Was able to compress the patch some more on the roadside to get it to hold air, then got another 10 miles before it leaked again, and switched to a traditional tube that I carry as a spare. Later removed the first patch entirely, cleaned the area with alcohol wipe as directed (very clean), let dry completely, put on another Tubolito patch with great care to compress evenly and for more than the stated 5 minutes. This patch held for multiple rides and then started leaking on one edge. I ...Β MoreThe Tubolito tubes work fine and I appreciate the light weight, but the patches have been a challenge. I carry two in my saddle bag and they take up less room than one butyl tube. Blow into the stem b4 installing to give it some shape to install without twists or wrinkles. Lightweight, compact, and great tubes. Used them when damage to tire was in excess of sealant ability.
I have used vittoria and ridenow TPU tubes. These seem to be more difficult to install and donβt retain air at all. Put a pair on my bike. One held air for 24 hours the other went flat in 3 days. Bad product. Vittoria and ridenow are great and ridenow is very reasonably priced!!
Hmm, Guess I should have read better. The MTB S-Tubo apparently have removable stems, the "road" version clearly states it does not on the "tech details". I missed that, I run 404's that require a valve extender. I did actually unscrew the valve stem and use a extender, but I'm 100% I voided any warranty etc. in doing so. MY BAD. Having said that, I blew air in with my mouth, mounted everything and it was "easy", no problems. They seem to actually hold air better than my previous lightweight racing butyl tubes, so that's a positive. I haven't had a puncture, but that was never an issue for me, so I'm not a good judge of puncture protection. I'm not supposed to mount to "rim brakes" and ride hills, but per my infrared thermometer and testing, I haven't demonstrated any temperatures of concern for myself. I certainly cannot endorse, nor recommend, but I'm simply stating, I measured mine in my local area with a infrared thermometer after riding hills. I wasn't concerned with the data my thermometer provided to me, so I'll continue using. They are soft and the ride is nice in conti'5000's on zipp 404's with a standard carbon road bike. Happy riding, may your PR's seem easy and your chamois comfortable.
I've used these on a few bikes now and it's a good way to save around 120g on the total bike weight. But more than that, they give a very nice supple ride feel, and reduce the weight and bulk of your spares kit. When the inevitable happened - broken glass through a sidewall - I was able to repair it successfully using Tubolito's own 'Flix Kit' for repair. Recommended!
Excellent value for "weight weenies". 100 to 150 grams of rotating weight reduction (depends on tire size) from replacing butyl tubes with Tubolitos!! Tubolitos represent the first significant improvement in inner tubes in the past 40 years and are well worth the premium price.Tubolito Co. stands behind their product and provides excellent customer support -- they replaced a tube without charge that failed as a result of a misplaced rim strip..I've been using Tubolitos since September, and am generally very pleased.. If you get a flat tire on a ride, be prepared to replace the flattened tube or patch it (not always easy if you are riding at night or in a urban environment.)Important tip: For 28mm road tires, use the larger 30mm to 47mm size Tubolitos for better puncture resistance. The 18 to 28mm tubes may be stretched too thin.
Wow! What a difference in weight, what a difference in (I am assuming by recent history) rolling resistance! All summer with fully inflated tires I could only achieve a high of 38.6mph down a long hill in the tucked position. First ride in very similar weather and same pressures, an even 40mph! That to me is pretty incredible. Now hoping for flat protection and longevity.
